I found my home here at farm camp. AS long as your kid doesn't mind a little dirt or poop, this is a perfect home away from home.

I stayed here for a work training in the new building. The issues with this place seemed constant…read more Started with the door to the ceiling and the heating unit was open upon arrival. The thermostat was set to specific temps and when adjusted would often take 5-10 minutes before it would start to warm the room. It required inputting the temp multiple times a day to override the automatic settings of 62/64. There was construction going on and every evening there was a very very strong smell of propane. All of the outside areas were unpleasant to walk through near the buildings and there was no opening up windows or sitting on the rocking chairs with that smell. The food was not good. Sandwiches for lunch, tomato soup and grilled cheese for dinner with a salad.... I thought for adults that they would make the meals a bit more interesting but no. Lots of costco/sysco bulk food items. The first couple days we got plastic reusable plates but apparently it was too difficult to keep those kosher so they then switched us to compostable plates and silverware. Lastly, no remote for the tv in the center living room which made it very difficult to play our planned jackbox and the remote for the fireplace wouldn't work. Heaters are very very loud and can be difficult to sleep though. They sound like running water or people taking a shower right above you. Showers constantly ran out of hot water. 90% of our group experienced a cold shower during the 5 days we were there. Overall, tons of things that made the stay less than pleasant. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I vividly remember the smell of the woods, the sound of the ball bouncing in the Gaga ball pit, and the butterflies of excitement getting ready for Shabbat dinner. The staff could stand to chill out a little (they're very strict about what you do and when) but still, this place is like home to me and I wish I could go back as an adult.

The only time we visit Ardenwood farms is during Halloween. I never realized there's lots of fun…read moreactivities there all year round. We came here on a Saturday morning in March, and there were a few families, but not crowded. They have a really cute story time that is interspersed with animal feeding. For example, the book was about chickens, so we all walk over to the chicken coupe where we could feed the chickens. Then we go back for more story time, and then walk over to feed the goats. It was entertaining, educational, and a lot of fun, especially with kids. The grounds are nicely maintained, with tree-lined walkways and lots of flowers. There are picnic tables, and a wooden cows with utters that kids (and adults) can learn how to milk a cow. There's also the historical house, which you can tour, but we skipped this because we had a toddler with us. Overall, a nice getaway from the city life for a little bit of country.

My boyfriend and I came here during December so a lot of things were closed like the train and some of the houses, but it was still a very fun visit to go to! Lots of docents around to answer questions and they were still black smithing when we were there too. Apparently, there's a community blacksmithing club or classes and they sell the wares that they make there too. Neat! Lots of chickens and roosters walking around which is cute. Some turkeys were huddled on some hay. You can see all of the tractors historically used on the farm, as well as the rocking chairs, other tools used on the farm (butter churner), and you can read the signs and learn about the history of all of the various buildings there too. Lots of photo opportunities as well. Cute gazebo is own the property too. They have some cats wandering around too. A bit skittish, but cute. And a cow on the field too. We got to see some bunnies in the bunny house. Fun for kids, fun for me who loves animals!
