The only disappointment was that one of the three riverside tents was not next to the other two, even though we had booked the tents in 1 reservation. I thought I had confirmed they were next to each other, but it did not work out that way. While we were at Wildhaven, we had horrible rainy weather. However, our family still had a blast! The rain didn't stop the kids from biking, scootering, fishing, etc. We made the best of it and everyone had a great time. The facilities were clean, the tents were spacious, the beds were very comfortable and the website accurately described all amenities. We paid extra for the early check in and it was worth it because it gave us more time to get settled in before heading to the river and maximizing our first day. I would recommend water shoes for adults and kids because the river is really rocky. We failed to bring water shoes and lost two pairs of sandals that floated down stream. We look forward to another trip at Wildhaven :)

This is one of my favorite campgrounds I've ever been to!!! Kelly and Mikal treat their guests like family. From the first time I called Kelly was so kind and helpful. I have been numerous times now and it feels like going to a little slice of heaven each time. It's clean, beautiful, quiet, and they live on site so if there's an issue they are there to help! The sites are spread out and spacious so you won't have someone right on top of you. The sites are kept up so nicely and the campground itself is simply gorgeous. The bathrooms are clean, there are several free showers, and there is firewood for sale as well. The town of Guerneville itself is only five minutes away, and there are tons of cute little shops as well as a major grocery store. There are darling little art galleries, clothing stores, bakeries, ice cream shops, coffee shops, etc. The ocean is only a 25 minute drive down the road. There are endless little beaches to stop at, as well as numerous little beachside towns with restaurants and coffee shops. You can spend a whole day exploring highway 1, then head back to your campsite to relax. I feel so lucky to only live 3 hours away and be able to head there any time I want. I'm so grateful to Kelly and Mikal for being so accommodating and kind.

Suffice it to say we saw a few locals along the way that seemed perplexed why we were driving very slowly through their neighborhood. I think that had to do with a bridge closure. Anyways... The return was not the same route thankfully. The park has for pay parking areas and what seemed to be free parking along the road to the park at your own risk. We found a spot in the paid lot ($10). Get a receipt, put it on your car's dashboard and off you go. There's a small welcome center and info at the entrance as well. The Redwoods are incredible here, some alive for 1400 plus years. You simply can't see the tops of the Redwoods from the ground. Truly incredible. The trails are well marked and it's highly discouraged to get off the trails as the environment is very ecologically sensitive. Unfortunately we saw some disregard for that. Stay on the trails people! You'll find placards noting interesting names and places along the way in addition to information about the flora and fauna. The history of the park and previous residents from indigenous peoples to the parks name sake are along the trail. It's an incredible park to visit and appreciate nature. The redwoods are incredible and certainly worth a visit.

There is enough room for about 7 cars in the parking lot off the road in addition to available roadside parking where allowable. This is in the neighborhood and NOT off the official regional park section of the woods. It is about 2.5 miles up Fitch Mt. from town and down a meandering trail that goes along behind some homes to the stretch of gravel beach that this beauty exists amongst. It is truly a hidden gem. I don't try to bring too much since you have a good .50-.75 mile trek down to the beach to set up camp for the day. Mostly sun exposed so plan accordingly. The water is the real treat here - it is like bath water so warm and inviting you won't want to leave! Not super shallow and definitely swimmable. It's a quiet and serene stretch of the Russian River that feels magical to get away so close to home.

Idk how the rich people do it and my money could go so much further. After spending this much money I would rather own something on the block and have the rich people rent from my airbnb. In my humble opinion, it is not worth $500 a nice. I appreciate Hilton Honors for including this in their portfolio so I could get a taste of the hype. I would not come back again even to one of the more enticing locations. This was once in a lifetime and it is underwhelming. If you come as a diamond member you receive 2 waters a day, a s'mores kit, firewood and skewers. Nice free perk because we came here on an impromptu adventure and didn't plan ahead. There are some really good restaurants nearby and also a Safeway just down the road. Our unit - #9 - had a bathroom sliding barn door for the bathroom that was hard to slide open and closed. We had to shove it open, then shove to the side to get it opened enough for us to pass through. On our second night the A/C unit was dripping water/condensation onto us and the floor (photo will be included). It wasn't a lot of water, once I wiped it away it didn't do it again. On the second day I also discovered that the mini-fridge had water at the base of the inside so some of the groceries I bought were wet. In the kitchen area, the cabinets were sticky and the trash under the sink was still there from the last people who stayed there. The bathroom door that was not sliding well at all was the most annoying part. Overall none of these things are that bad, but for the price that they charge I expect more - especially with so many minor issues piled up. Most of these things we didn't realize until after we had everything in the unit and were settled, so requesting to move would have been a hassle too. The good is that the bedroom was nice - storage was good, the bed was comfy and clean and overall the space felt nice. I will suggest if you're in a premium Airstream and will have more than two people - for example, kids or a third or fourth adult - sleeping on the sofa, I'd suggest bringing a sleeping bag for them to sleep on/in. They supply a flat sheet, pillow and blanket, but nothing to wrap the sofa/futon in. Mine is not the popular opinion here, but this is a one and done experience with AutoCamp given what we got out of the price that we paid.
