if in Copenhagen, and you like beer and BBQ, then get to this place. Nicely located a brief walk from the city center to the Meat Packing district which has some other restaurants and sites. We enjoyed some pints of the house beers from Mikkellar and shared pulled pork and some sides - the baked beans and Mac n cheese were good. They have many communal picnic type tables inside and some outside seating on the patio on nice days overlooking the harbor. Note the prices are a little higher than expected, but worth the experience in our opinion.

Echoing many other reviews, WarPigs was incredibly busy. I was actually surprised to see a Texas-style BBQ and craft beer eerily reminiscent of American breweries in the heart of Copenhagen, but it seems to be VERY popular. Since we had a dinner reservation nearby we didn't get any food, but I will saw, from what I saw...everything looked really good. We came here for the beer, and I tried two Hazy IPAs as well as a Black IPA, a new one for me. I am a huge hazy NEIPA fan, and both of these hit perfectly. The hardest part was finding somewhere to post up, which we did eventually. Each beer came out to about $10 US, which isn't bad for the quality and size of the pour. BBQ, beer, or both, WarPigs is definitely worth a visit.

Yeah 5 stars for the sunny day. Five stars for the cold IPA and Five Stars for the Vegan portobello mushroom sandwich! Long walk from our hotel but what a treat. Loved the service and choice of indoor/outdoor dining tables. Yes it's a BBQ restaurant with lots of BBQ for the hungry carnivores but, gotta love they had a little something on the down low for the good guys!

Mikkeller is one of my favorite breweries, and their take on BBQ did not disappoint. I was shocked by how good all the food was. The brisket was definitely the standout, nice smoke ring, thick bark, so juicy and tender. The pulled pork was surprisingly juicy as well where that often ends up being pretty dried out. They were out of hot sausage, so I had whatever the sausage was, tasted like it had cheese in it, wasn't my favorite, but was okay. The mac and cheese was creamy, but not overly strong on the cheese flavor. And the beans lacked the right tangy zing that I'm used to. Burnt ends in the beans was a nice tough though. Hushpuppies were phenomenal though, definitely grew up eating those, and these hit the spot. Overall the fixins are a nice accoutrement to the meat, but certainly didn't outshine it. There's a ton of beer options, and you order in a separate line from the BBQ which is good because the BBQ line definitely got backed up. There were somewhere around 20 beers here, and they had a couple stout options which are my favorite. The Mikkeller in San Diego (RIP) brewed a lot of stouts and they are surprisingly hard to find. Where do I get Beer Geek?? If you're looking to snag some Mikkeller beer and a bite to eat, this is the spot. The place is filled with picnic tables and was super busy around 6 pm on a Thursday when we were there. We could only find tables outside. There is a table full of a handful of different sauces which were fun to try. There isn't really napkins here which is one of my complaints, there's just a roll of paper to pull from by the trash cans. The trash is also set up in a way that makes it hard to pull out and scrape your food off at the same time. The bathroom also wasn't in great shape. As a restaurant, it's by no means a fine dining experience, and in my opinion, could use some touch ups to make the eating here a bit more pleasant all around. But clearly it's not keeping the crowd away, and it won't stop me either from coming back.

Copenhagen's beer Mecca.. A collaboration between Three Floyds and Mikkeller. Always great rotating beer on tap Always great smoked meats and sides coming out of the kitchen. I've tried the brisket, hush puppies with pimento cheese, Mac & cheese, burnt ends baked beans and my favorite the smoked wings! It's always busy when I'm here for the Mikkeller Beer Celebration, but there's plenty of seating both inside and out. I always visit when I'm in Copenhagen

Decent beer and decent BBQ. WarPigs came up as a brewery while I was on vacation in Copenhagen. It was walking distance from my Airbnb so I went to check it out. I like the vibe of WarPigs. It's got a modern rustic interior, is a fairly big space and has tons of seating inside and out. Plus there's plenty of sauce for the BBQ at every table. Beer and BBQ ordering is done separately. Initially I wanted a beer, and had a good time with a helpful bartender finding something to drink. It was a high ABV IPA that wasn't too hoppy. Eventually I went back and got some ribs and brisket. They were ok and would have been better with some Sweet Baby Ray's, but hey, can't have everything you want on vacation. I would definitely visit WarPigs again.

Caps Lock nitro coffee IPA was my favorite beer on the menu

While their BBQ menu had no vegan options for me, I was thrilled to enjoy a variety of beers from the Mikkeller taproom menu. Caps Lock, their nitro coffee IPA, was, by far, my favorite beer of my entire vacation (to Munich and Copenhagen). It was delicious and I could drink it every day. It's rare to find a coffee IPA in the U.S.

My husband and I had just landed in Copenhagen from a morning of flying and were staying at the Tivoli Hotel headed to Tivoli Gardena itself. Lo' and behold it was a rainy overcast day in CPH, surprise surprise! Hah. But we were really craving something warm and protein forward. Which led us to WarPigs! To be honest, I didn't have the highest expectations. Having awesome BBQ from home and across the US, I wasn't expecting this place to necessarily be stand out. Boy, was I wrong. This place was phenomenal. It's tucked in an industry style area right by the gardens. We walked in, counter style where they make it in front of you and you ring out. We opted to share a brisket sandwich with all the fixings, burnt end beans, spicy a pickles and an order of the mac entree ( which takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare). They also have a stellar beer list as it's a brewery as well! The atmosphere is spacious and open with large community tables through out. They have MASSIVE paper towel rolls and you can grab pitchers and glasses of water as well as their crates of BBQ when you sit down. Everything was amazing. The real stand out was the BBQ sauce. They have four types and every single one was delicious. Seriously I think the best bbq sauce we've ever had. Shared a pastry sour, good but not stand out. Overall, absolutely delicious and really hit the spot. We basically rolled out of there.

Came here twice. I liked it so much the first time I went back... And also, a very pleasant surprise the bar-bee-que was absolutely top notch! And I am a Southern Man and have been to all the marquee places in the Southern U.S., and have to tell you the brisket hear rivals any brisket I have had. I was very pleasantly SHOCKED! I have been to their family brewery in Iceland as well, this one is better. I had a few of the IPA's and they were absolutely spectacular. Not quite in the same discussion with the Heady and/or Tree House, but way, way up there. Supreme quality. All of the beers here are excellent. They do it right, and know what they are doing...

Yup, this is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Copenhagen!…read more I will try to keep this short and sweet, because if I start raving on, there's probably no stopping me. I've lived in New Orleans for a while, and I've been on the lookout for a place with great Southern food (House of Souls is another great address for that, btw), and I'm so, so glad that Alabama Social is here to fulfill all my cravings for hot wings, jerk chicken, and cornbread! The hot wings definitely deserve a special shout-out; as do the fries, which are just perfection, served with creole mayo. Their menu changes regularly, and they're recently started serving Po' Boy sandwiches for lunch, which I'm eager to try. Staff has always been friendly and attentive, and I'm personally a huge fan of both the location by the lakes and the interior with dark wood and open kitchen. Bottom line is, I cannot recommend this place enough, and I wish I could eat there every day (and not get fat)!

My wife's colleague suggested we try this place. Why would Americans go to an American restaurant…read morein Denmark? Because it is good. We ordered three course tasting menus, getting six different items between us: a biscuit with pulled pork and a biscuit with pulled beef for appetizers, brisket and baby back ribs for entrees along with sides that included French fries, slaw, and cornbread, chocolate and coconut sundae for dessert as well as a butterscotch pie. I also got a drink called a Harley Davidson which is their take on an old fashioned. The biscuits were smaller than a good ol American buttermilk biscuit, but stood up nicely to the pork and beef. The pork had a nice texture and a tasty Asian slaw, but there was way too much mayonnaise on top. The beef was also a nice texture but I was missing bbq sauce. The brisket entree was a small portion of tender beef topped with onions and some herbs. It wasn't quite bbq, almost more like corned beef. The ribs were charred and spicy. The overall texture and flavor was similar to Chinese spare ribs in some ways. The portion was rather generous compared to the brisket. The side dishes really stole the show. The corn bread was spot on and the accompanying sweet and spicy butter brought it to a new level. The French fries had a good texture and weren't over salted. The slaw was not mayonnaisey. It was an Asian style slaw with a light dressing. My wife asked for an extra order to go she liked it so much. Dessert was a mixed bag. The chocolate and coconut ice cream sundae was well-composed but a little gun shy on the flavors. The butterscotch pie was actually a salted caramel pie, delicious, with a buttermilk ice cream that wasn't much to my taste. Service was good and friendly. The atmosphere was approachable and unpretentious.

It's one of those things where I was glad I stopped by, but didn't really experience anything with the food or ambiance that would make me recommend this as a out-of-the way stop that the ranking would seem to suggest. This one is the original, using the station building as a walk-up window with the kitchen inside. They have a few picnic tables on the side for outdoor dining, and I do think that it's important to eat the burger as soon as possible. The interesting thing is that it is still a working gas station, with an island with multiple pumps dispensing petrol (which I didn't see being used during my wait) and some electric charging stations (which was actively being used). I was able to place my order (nothing customized, just wanted exactly as they described after about a 10 minute wait, got my lemonade right away, and waited another 10 minutes to get my food (everything is made-to-order). The cheeseburger was 110 DKK, fries was 40, lemonade was 35, and dipping sauce was 10 with 10 off for being a combo. So total was 185 DKK (about $28.88 in USD). The process and food reminded me very much of a Shake Shack, with the young workers working together to produce well-made smashburgers using great ingredients. The color scheme reminds me of a Wingstop, though. I squeezed between a couple of single diners and dug in. The burger was good, with that loose smash burger quality. It came with a mayo based thousand island like sauce (their gasoline sauce), and had tomato, pickles, red onion slices, and a gooey, plentiful cheese. The lemonade was good, and the hint of elderflower made it memorable. The crinkle fries were good, well done fried which I appreciate. Ate the meal fast before my hands started to freeze up, tossed the remains in the gas station islands garbage bin and was on my way. I really do think a food like this is all about where you eat it...if on an airplane, or at a ballpark, or at the beach...yeah, I could see the appeal. But at a gas station in freezing weather on a picnic table...not so much.

I experienced instant regret when I saw my bf's sauce glazed bøfsandwich come out of the kitchen. Alas, I had committed to the flæskestegssandwich and unfortunately found it just OK. It had good size, the pork was tender, but without much flavour and the red cabbage was too sweet for my taste. But I'm happy that Denmark is finally embracing the brioche type of bun and this one was delightful. The fries were crispy and the homemade mayo I could eat with a spoon if nobody was watching. The bøfsandwich received much praise from my companion, so I will definitely come back again to try that one.
