Apollo has a pretty small menu, but there are a couple good looking options. I came here in a large party, and while some ordered beef or burgers (which looked good) I stuck with something more traditional.
My salad had nice spring greens, peppers, tomatoes, and a little parma ham (or similar). All of this was in a delicious dressing that I just can't place. Maybe a little "curry" in there? I just don't know, but it was good.
Then my plaice fillet, which was quite large, served on a white hot cast iron plate with a medallion of herbed butter and some lemon wedges. The fish was good, very mildly flavored with a nice crust. It did need to be deboned, which I don't know how to do perfectly cleanly, so there was some eating around pinbones. I wish it had been a bit more done - it was quite moist, but almost a little too moist in the middle.
They did have one crazy rude/ineffective waiter, who we made the mistake of asking to bring the check...which never happened. We made a sport of watching this dude ignore people for most of the meal. But the rest of the staff were very friendly. English menus were no problem, and they also accepted my stupid non-PIN American credit card, which is a plus since I hate carrying around ridonkulous amounts of cash. read more
