Truly amazing service. I came close to closing time because i was starving and these two female servers were super gracious about it, getting me a great outdoor table and immediate service. They were so friendly and helpful, and as a female solo traveler, I felt so safe there. I even had someone buy me a drink and they went out of their way to assure me that they watched the bartender pour it and they brought it over. Excellent food and a great selection of Swedish beers. I was really surprised how good the veggie burger was. They use a bit of roasted garlic in the mayonnaise and the dressing for the salad was nice. I hope to return here my next time in Malmo. read more

This place is always busy and perfect if you want outside seating. Went for a late work meeting and my colleague had visited before and liked the food. Ordered the Garlic bread as a starter which was enough to share. Dipping sauce was a good compliment. For main, had the Chili Burger. They only cook it medium well or well done so if you like it medium or cooler.....the burger was okay, same with the fries. I should probably note that I came to Sweden on a solo trip so finding this place was by chance because it had good reviews on Yelp. It's perfectly located in the city and was easy to find since it's on one of the main squares. I came here when it was about 5 degrees and I was able to sit outdoors because the heaters were on and they also have blankets for entire terrace. Good: The service was good, the staff spoke English and was pretty friendly. The environment was vibrant and very busy. I've ordered the Bookmaker toast, which was grilled sirloin steak on fried bread with grilled tomatoes and an egg yolk. Surprisingly a really good combination! I don't drink, so I didn't try any of the drinks on the menu. Bad: I felt the prices were kind of steep for the amount of food you get, but I guess that's why people rather cook at home instead of dining out. Bottom line: Cool and lively spot to go with friends, but it had more of a gastropub scene that isn't really for me. read more

Highly recommended. Food was tasty and came in good portion size. Swedish traditional cheese pie is very similar to quiche. A big basket of fries is only 35 sek (about $4). Parmesan bread was made of thick big toast with plenty of cheese. Good for beer. Friendly and attentive service. Good place to hang out. PS: Free wifi, ask for the password. Lilla Torg is a great place with many bars and restaurants. Mello Yello has a great location right on the corner. My experience here is limited to the acquisition and consumption of spirits - yes, drinking. It is really a lot of fun here. Now that the weather is nice again, the outdoor seating is expanded and the bars are outside as well. I can't complain about the service at all - it can get a little crowded in the evenings. You have to expect a bit of a wait. read more

We just got off the longest train ride of our lives. We were tired, hungry and thirsty. The only reason we chose this place was because we assumed they were kid friendly due to the family that just left. They played great old blues music. The beer was exactly what my wife and I needed. The food was excellent! My kids split an elk patty which was outrageously good. My wife got the reindeer filet...which was a bit more expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. I got the cod and crayfish dish, which was also very good. The food was all cooked to order. You could tell that it hadn't just been microwaved, and served. It's the sort of food and drink that makes your soul smile. We finished it off with some of their hazelnut cheesecake. I just about slide out of my chair... The places in the square where Mello Yello is located are all crazy packed, which makes for an energetic atmosphere, but the staff are severely outnumbered and the whole place wreaks of chaos. And I was here on a Wednesday. I would describe the food as passable. Our waiter here was actually very good, but it took forever to get seated and there didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to their system. You could do worse than this place. read more

Great central location. Didn't have food but it was the perfect location for a drink. Friendly staff and they had a good selection of drinks. I was here in October but I imagine that it's lovely on the terrace in summer. Even in autumn they have heaters and blankets so you can keep nice and toasty. read more

Fantastic little restaurant in Malmö's quaint old square. What a great spot! The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of there way to make us feel welcome. We ordered a medium tenderloin and fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and served on top of a red wine/Scandinavian basil sauce. This unusual, aromatic basil made the sauce delicious. I had a very good piece of Salmon with rice and a nice glass of wine. The food was good but the portions were very small and I left hungry despite a very high bill. They have fantastic food in a good location. Although, it is a very touristy place it doesn't feel like the quality of the food has suffered from it. I almost always order their corn-fed chicken and it is always just as delicious, the cream cheese with sundries tomatoes and basil that comes with the meal is to die for. What is bothersome is that if you choose to order starters as well, the waiting time for food gets way longer. It felt like forever waiting for our main courses after having finished our starters. From the starters I would recommend ordering spring rolls as they were so delicious I couldn't wait to have them again. read more
