Learning how to play Warhammer: Age of Sigmar!
    Cody A.

Came in knowing nothing about Warhammer or tabletop gaming. I had just seen a few videos of people painting models online and it sounded fun. Ryan got me started with my first mini and helped me pick out some good paints and brushes. The next time I was there he taught me how to play and let me use his army. Now I love the game! Definitely a great place to learn about the hobby! Their selection is also crazy large!

There are quite a few places in the valley that sells Warhammer stuff, but I often make the drive to this location for one reason: Ryan. The staff here is ridiculously helpful, often bending over backwards to answer dumb questions and talk endlessly about lore and stats. He's amazing with kids too. This location offers lessons on building, painting, and playing the actual game. My only complaint about this location is that it can be quite crowded at peak times. Other than that... this place rocks.

I tried applying for their Customer Loyalty And Newsletter program, but they denied me for some reason. I know my neighbor was able to get it. Initially I came in to buy some paint for a pilot model for one of my airplanes. I don't think they fully understood that the helmet was conical and would need a lighter shade of grey, almost a pure white color. I think the guy that helped the other two off duty cops knew what color I needed but he withheld which shelf and section I could find that particular item. I probably didn't Cross my T's and dot my I's. At first I didn't get greeted by the person walking up and down the isles and I had to greet the person who seemed to be buddy buddy with everyone. The person in the back didn't give the same level of customer service he did to the irish gentlemen as he did to me. I don't understand it. It was very... rigid. I had to say hello and ask how he was doing. He didn't respond, but honestly I think I understand why. This is a family shop. It seemed everyone there was family. Possibly all related. If I didn't look like their cousin or brother, then I wasn't going to get the same level of service. Anyways, I wasn't able to find the conical head apparel for the pilot on my air plane. Admittedly, I think they only sell conical shaped hats in specialty stores. I would suggest looking at their website before going in as there are two huge sections of their site that contain zero inventory. Overall, I think the customer service and friendliness was there, it just wasn't for me. I hope your experience is different and better.

Now for the people that work there they are friendly knowledgeable and most of all they give encouragement to new hobbyists! My family and I will go back to them always! Oh and there price's are really great too I have found many items the same price if not lower than Amazon.

Hobby Lobby is for burning a lot of time and keeping yourself entertained. Their stores are always really big and pretty well kept. The biggest thing is there is SO MUCH STUFF to look at. It seems every store has the same layout but I do still love exploring everything in there. It is tradition for me to make a big run here during Christmas because they have every Christmas decoration you can possibly think of. They really always have holiday decor but Christmas is definitely the most "all out" Hobby Lobby goes. The holiday decor is always to the left as you walk in but it tends to be spread around the store as well. I love how organized they keep it. They definitely keep things in themes (kitchen decor will be with each other, laundry room decor is all together, etc). They have the same sale tactics as like...Kohls. There is always a sale on top of the price tag, which is nice! They had wall decor for 40% off. I do miss their 40% coupon that they retired like a year ago. They also had a nice clearance section in which I was able to find a new condition canvas for $3! Thats a deal. I love coming in here just because there really is so much to look at and you can snag unnecessary things for your house. I also find it somewhat inspirational to get my shit together while I am in here; they have planners and pretty stuff that make me think that could possibly be my lifestyle. With this specific visit, one think that irked me a bit was the lack of mask enforcement. It is currently mandated in the county and I would like to see it being a bit more enforced. I kid you not, when I was in the store, there was a lady having a coughing fit right next to me without a mask on. Come on lady!! lol. It isn't even a specific store policy, it was mandated by the county and it is every business's job to make sure it is being followed. Regardless, the stuff in here is still cool and I think the prices are pretty reasonable!

In contrast, the cashiers at the front were so rude and condescending to both me and my elderly mother. Night and day. It was a one star, and a five star difference so I went down the middle with a three star.

Then had none of the MTG she was looking for..and don't even try asking for Pokémon here. Their live-in regulars get better treatment. They do have a large selection and more hobby variety than seen elsewhere. But inventory is very much overpriced with little discounted (unlike competitors). There is so much stuff here that in places it feels less a retail store and more like someone's stored collection. Hastur suits my gaming needs just fine and with MUCH friendlier people.

First, I was in the store, browsing and trying to make up my mind, and no one greeted me. Instead, what i heard was the height of unprofessional behavior. One of the employees cursed at another from across the counter. Not once, but three times. I understand that this is a casual store, and have loved the atmosphere in the past, but as a representative of the business, and an employee, foul language is off putting at best. I am far from offended, if I had heard it at the game tables I would not have thought twice about it, but from an employee, on the clock, that is sad and unprofessional. I have spent thousands at this store, and countless trips in, before, when it was High Gear, and now Salt City Games, but I won't be back.
