The Lego phenomenon is back and taking over the world-my wife included. So we found ourselves at the Lego store at Fashion Place Mall recently to redeem a much appreciated birthday gift certificate. The place was hopping-almost as much as the Apple stores usually are. But here, there are far more children and brighter colors. But the vibe and the energy are similar. You'll find a variety of kits on display as well as some classic blocks that may take you back to your childhood. Luckily, I didn't step on a single lego on the floor, which is most people's nightmare. The folks who work here are helpful and pleasant. I wonder if they get to create some of the large displays before the store opens? That would be a fun job! read more

Great store/staff at this weirdly adult toy store. I brought 3 kids here to check out the pick-a-brick feature. Super fun, and I was happy that the p-a-b price hadn't increased all that much since I last brought a child to one of these. The new boxes are cool, and work great. One thing I noticed was a pretty distinct lack of children here. You'll see this at places like Disneyland, too. These places are no longer aimed at kids. Half the store (look for the wall of black boxes) is definitely aimed at adults, and we were crowded by polite adults wearing tiny backpacks at the brick wall at times. That said, the staff was super pleasant and helpful, and the kids I brought had a great time. read more

I'm so happy to have a Lego store that is located in Provo. This Is the perfect location for one. I love how big it is. It's bigger than the other Lego store in Utah. Lots of great Lego displays, very organized and fantastic customer service. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is just the price of Lego sets. You're getting less legos for more money. Legos need to figure out how to make more affordable. Other than that super pumped!! read more

We were in Salt Lake City for a convention and, of course, we just had to go to the nearest Lego Store. We were not disappointed. Nice sized store with a wonderful selection and some amazing rather large in-store builds. They had all of the typical stuff you'd see in a Lego Store, but also had quite a few discounted sets. My wife couldn't pass up a Lego Dots set. She was also looking for a very specific piece which she uses for her personalized original Lego necklaces and pendants. Colton was very helpful and looked and looked for the part. It was not something they stocked so he directed us to the Lego website and one other potential spot. We were able to find her some pieces she needed rather quickly. We would definitely go back to this store simply because of the great customer service we received. Thanks, Colton !! This is not a review for this store in particular, but Lego as a company. Went to exchange a gift I received for something else and the guy at the store asked if I had my receipt. No, I got it as a gift. Then he said, there's nothing we can do without a receipt. Seriously? He informed me that it was a new policy for Lego. No receipt, no return or exchange. Too many returns from Walmart or Target or wherever are ending up at their stores. Which is fine, I get it, but you can't have it both ways. If you want to sell to the masses and put Lego in every store, then you have to accept that some returns are not going to come from a Lego store. Either that or sell exclusively in your store. And they need to have their return policy clearly printed somewhere and it needs some serious refining. The guy at the door said, well we've been telling people they have to have a receipt to return or exchange. Awesome work, who's going to want to give someone a gift with a receipt? I had no idea where the gift had come from but I knew it was a Lego so it seemed logical that it would be returnable to a Lego store. I guess I was wrong. Keep in mind that if you are giving Lego as a gift, you better give that person a receipt in case they want to exchange it or they are stuck with what they get. It was a frustrating experience, and Lego is going to have some extremely pissed off people this season if they're going to turn away everyone without a receipt. Just another story of a corporate enterprise sticking it to the people. And let's not get started on price, absolutely ridiculous for what you get. read more

I fricken love LEGOs. I mean, they're kind of expensive but they're just sick. This store always has a kind staff who are always willing to help you out. If you're looking for a specific series minifigure, they'll sometimes pull out a new one just to help you find one. They're just straight up awesome! The selection is always pretty great. The only reason this isn't a five star review is because it's almost always crowded, which makes sense considering it's the only LEGO store in Utah. They also have tons of cool models and sets on display, and I just love going here. Once again, the staff is just amazing! read more

My wife and I have recently developed an obsession for all things Lego so going to the Lego Store is a must. This is the only store even remotely close to us and each time we come here it's like going to Disney World, sorry Disneyland lovers but Disney World is better, and it's not even because of all of the Lego in the store but it's because of the staff here. Every staff member we have worked with at this store has always been so helpful and they have even given us free things like extra accessories for our built minifigs and they even gave us some awesome Disney Princess mosaic pictures that we have now proudly displayed in our daughters room. It's always a pleasure to come to this store even if you aren't there to buy anything. read more

So normally I buy my legos from their website directly and have them shipped but I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of the items that where out of stock online was available in stores. The store was clean and well staffed. The employees were so kind and spent time to talk to our daughter that's new to Lego. They even gave us some free magazines and posters. There are two kinds of LEGO people. Those who casually build things with their kids and look forward to stepping on that one, stupid clear block that gets missed in the carpet...... and those who are freakishly addicted to 15,000 piece sets that take hours and hours and hours (and hours) to build. I fall in to the former, and not the latter. For us, we are casual builders. We like to use our imaginations to pretend that hooking some different colored 2x4 blocks together makes an awesome building. Or car. Or space shuttle. This store isn't really designed for us. We are looking for basic blocks in different sized containers. This store has 2 or three and some individual parts (we'll talk about those in a minute. What the ARE ready for is if you are ready to drop some serious coin on some pretty detailed, themed sets. They have LOTS of those. Things I do love about this store: 1.) It's fun to let your little wander around and dream. It's like turning me loose at the Porsche dealership. 2.) They have these cool little bins where you can buy random parts. You fill one of two different sized containers and pay for the container, not by the block. They change them out every once in a while to different things so it's worth checking back. So honestly, we don't buy a lot here. I can find the bigger sets I want online or at different retailers. We basically come here just to play. read more

Great place for toys I would go there every day I like Legos. I actually love Legos. Legos are so creative. You can build with them build whatever you where you want. You can use directions to build a set designed on like a movie or something. Pretty cool store. Always organized for how much chaos is in the store. Both big and small people are in to there Legos man. I always thought they were boring but I'm a perfectionist so they drive me insane and I never read instructions so not my deal but some of the displays are amazing. I can appreciate it. My son digs it so I'm cool. Employees are nice some look irritated but what do u expect interacting with toddlers throwing everything around. Stay with me here....LEGO is a toy....the Lego Store therefore is a toy store....toys are for kids....huh! So, apparently I'm just a big kid at heart, I have no idea why this is such a revelation. Situated in Fashion Place Mall, this particular LEGO store is one of this big kids favorites, and having this nearby one of my other favorite stores (the Apple store!) means that visits to the mall bring me ever closer to needing to take out a second mortgage on the house! Priorities :) Bottom line - I love the LEGO store! I've loved LEGO since I was kid, and until recently I had not touched any in over 25 years. When they brought out the IDEAS set for the Apollo Saturn V, I had to have one as an avid moon mission fan, and this started a dangerous adulthood trend which soon resulted in me being hooked on LEGO again. Since then, much Technic (a favorite as a kid), and many of the Expert Creator sets have come into my possession! I know some of those sets are pricey, but they are worth it for the hours and hours of relaxation they bring me, I find building LEGO so relaxing and a great reprieve from my stressful job. While ordering LEGO online is convenient and often the only way to get some of the more difficult to find sets, it's nice having the store where you can go and look at things in person before buying and can often see finished examples too, and in all honesty they always have a really good selection and something that will appeal when that sudden whim causes you to gravitate to the store! It's nice also since you can get individual parts here too, which is handy should you find you are missing something and don't want to have to wait to get it online. It's fascinating watching the kids and big kids (read: Adults, but only in age) so excited alike, and it's hard not to be! Still gives me a thrill walking in here. This is a well laid out store, with the different styles of sets grouped together in different areas, and even when it's busy its not too difficult to navigate around. They have the best selection but not the best prices. They have great staff and all of the exclusives. My kids love coming to see what those geniuses have dreamt up to entice my money from my wallet. Prices might be at retail, but the Lego store is ankle biter nirvana! I made the mistake of visiting the mall on a very busy Sunday. No matter. The store's inventory is almost entirely on the perimeter walls, a strange characteristic, I'm guessing it might be a loss prevention tactic...Anyhow, it made the store seem pretty roomy given the amount of people milling around. We circled the store several times just taking it all in. The highlights were The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Architecture, and Creation sets. Made me laugh at the memories of the simplicity of mismatched Legos we kept in a giant Tupperware when I was a kid. The ankle biters had a blast playing on the interactive tables while a very friendly employee helped me find a unique Lego gift for my brother. I left with Loki instead of Thor, but I really enjoyed seeing everything they had to offer. I probably won't buy all of my Legos here, it's simply too pricy. Visiting made me miss my childhood a teeny tiny bit, and I'm glad to keep the Lego legacy alive for my kids! read more

I've been to this store a number of times now. The employees are always helpful and it's apparent that they themselves are LEGO fans. Whenever I've had a question regarding a LEGO piece or set, they've been quick to answer and advise me with quality recommendations. I often bring my girls here, who love that there is a wide selection of the LEGO Friends and other critters to build. My daughter purchased a scorpion/dragon combo which she loves. I have been a lego fan since i was a kid and the lego store is represents a slice of awesomeness of everything lego. Lego was the reason and foundation that took me to engineering. Lego was the reason that opened my mind to think about the limitless possibilities that a human mind can fathom simply through the mind blowing permutations and combinations that one can use while building or using a lego set. I am sure the die hard lego afficionados would not disagree Lego was the reason that structured and organized my mind as a kid , amid the chaos that is usually a kids world. It is now very much a part of me and i owe a piece of it to my interest and passion with building lego sets from a pretty young age. To know about lego check "Megafactories - Lego" in Youtube and you will know how awesome and big lego is and to know the level of engineering involved in making a lego set and all the awesome attention to detail given to each and every piece of the lego set such that it all flows into not just a toy but something that tells a story beyond it. Now thats enough of me getting carried away by this store. I knew the lego store had opened in this mall a while back but i had not had a chance to visit it so far since the day it opened in fashion place in utah when of course i went as a lego fan but this visit was different. I wanted to give my kid a experience of the world of lego ie basically pass on the exposure i had as a kid to my kid and of course my kid was super excited because the store was full of similarly passionate and enthusiastic kids of all ages and what is interesting is the enthusiasm is infectious as people of all ages including adults seem to enjoy building something lego as much as the kids. The store did not disappoint, the staff appeared knowledgable and friendly. All the hard to find lego sets were available. The store itself was vibrant and enthusiastic in nature mostly due to its younger customer base (of course the kids :) ). I could clearly see and pretty much feel all the kids minds racing with possibilities as they ran around looking set after set. There is also a lot of hands on building in store like build a mini, build your own lego and lego duplo sets for toddlers as well as a pretty neat device which when you scan some particular lego sets to the camera in device throws up a 3D Augmented reality type cartoon rendering of the built version of set with live background as backdrop. There is a lego VIP pass card and lego lovers do remember to sign up for it, for you will receive invites to a product prior to its release, exclusive lego events etc. The pricing is the best part, you will find it nominal despite the huge popularity of each of those sets to point where Hollywood made a movie on lego. Altogether the store represents lego in true sense of keeping up with the tradition of lego and hence the 5 star for me but again try as i might, i could have been a little carried away being a lego lover of sorts, So frame your own opinion post your own visit to the store. read more

Where to begin. The employees are very enthusiastic and helpful whenever I go in to buy items for my son. They are always happy and in good moods. They went out of their way to help me make Halloween special for my son earlier this year by helping me coordinate a special Halloween gift. But it wasn't just that once, they give excellent service every time I go in and no matter what the crowd circumstances are like. It's rare that a retail store has this level of customer service. We live close to Fashion Place Mall, so we're pretty familiar with what stores the mall offers. But honestly, we come to the Lego Store all the time. I have a 10 & 4 year old boy that absolutely love this place. I've always been a Lego fan myself growing up, so it's something we enjoy doing together. The staff has always been friendly and eager to help with whatever you are looking for. If you've been at this store, than you know it can be hectic as it's the only Lego Store in the valley. But there's been several times where the staff has gone out of their way to accommodate me and my kids. So our customer experience has always been positive. The also offer special perks, activities and events for the Lego VIP members. For a large retail store, we feel comfortable and most importantly we always enjoy our time there. read more

I've been waiting a long time for a LEGO store to open in Utah and now I don't have to travel or wait days to get the sets I'd like. They also let you accumulate points to get future discounts through their VIP program. Lots of selection, friendly staff and I've even used the 'Pick a Brick' bulk brick deal a couple of times now to add to my LEGO city. Not wanting to criticize another review, and yes, you can get a number of sets at other retailers, at times, at a discount, there are plenty of sets you can't walk into a Target or Walmart and buy off the shelf as they don't carry those, except perhaps mail-order. Sorry, Toys-R-Us doesn't carry The Sidney Opera house on their shelves. One downside is that it would be easy with a credit card and a lack of control to buy and spend yourself into quite a bit of debt; LEGO sets aren't cheap, but they're made of good quality parts and the vast majority of the parts aren't made in China. Great place for a Lego fan or kids who enjoy the hobby, and lots of selection. read more
