I had been meaning to stop in here for a while since my daughter does gymnastics nearby. I finally stopped in and was really surprised! Large selection of games. Fair prices. I was really excited to grab Bang! and a couple Ticket to Ride games. You can go in the back and it opens into a giant warehouse size room where you can play their games back there for free. They said it gets really busy on Friday nights but you can call and reserve a table for free. You can rent their games for $5/week, and when returned the money gets transferred to your account for store credit. The guy behind the counter was super friendly which I always appreciate! If you're into Magic the Gathering, you can buy booster packs for a good discount. Additionally, they have a cool system for renting games, where you can take any one from their huge selection for $5 for a week, and then if you want to buy it after, that $5 goes towards the purchase. They also have a bunch of try-in-store games. They have a huge space where you can play games you buy, compete in regular tournaments they hold, or paint miniatures that you buy (which you can get for a discount there) using their paints and with the free consultation of their workers. All the employees are helpful and knowledgeable! I'm amazed that Lehi has two game stores, and even more amazed that they are so close to each other. Game store reviews are interesting. If they have what you want, they are awesome, if they don't, they are awful. This one is awesome. I went in with my girlfriend, surprised as always that she is willing to accompany me to such a place, and looked for the dicemasters. They were easy to find and they had 4 different types, which is much more than you can usually find offline. We picked up some packs and then looked around the rest of the store. They've got just about any serious game you can think of, as well as the expansions for it. Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Dominion, anything like that and they've got it. They've got X-wing, and tons of Magic. I don't play Magic, but from their calendar it looks like that is what they hold the most of in regards to store events. It would be cool if they would diversify it, but I can't blame them for that. They've got an open board game night as well on Wednesdays, which might be fun. Price was retail on my purchase, which is pretty standard for places like this. I left happy. read more

I never went to the physical store due to me being across the country but I ordered from their website. (confusingly too because each store has their own website or something.) I made a mistake and messaged Lehi instead of Midvale and the customer service was atrocious. Worst thing I've ever experienced. I messaged them asking about my order because I paid extra to get faster shipping and it hadn't come in yet. What I was greeted with was just a mess created entirely by the customer service. I was belittled and talked down too due to a mistake on their end. I tried to be professional still and tell them my problem and that they're being unreasonable but it wasn't until I showed them my order receipt that they "apologized" (still tried to give excuses despite them being the ones to escalate the situation) Next time, a simple, "I'm sorry sir, what seems to be the problem?" will be enough. Anyways three days of writing emails and getting stressed out of my mind made me realize that I will never come back to this store. Terrible customer service left a bad taste in my mouth and I hope I can get my refund from the item I ordered. I don't want to support a business if it's going to treat a customer like that. I'm sure it's better irl and stuff but I would not recommend buying online, not after I was treated so poorly. I hope they can improve on this and whoever took my inquiry improves on communications but after that whole mess, I will not support or buy from this business again. read more

Who'd have thunk it--another game store here in Lehi? Tucked away in the back corner of the Family Dollar parking lot, Game Grid would be easy to miss. I didn't even know it existed until I did a Yelp! search for game stores; thank goodness I was nearby in American Fork when I searched or I'd still be oblivious to its existence. The store front is pretty small. To make up for that, GG has games packed everywhere you look. On tables, underneath tables, all the way up every wall; any place there is a place, you'll see a wonderful new game waiting for you to give it a home. The staff seemed pretty knowledgeable and certainly very helpful; one employee spent quite some time with another customer who was looking for guidance in choosing a game for a young recipient, and the employee asked a few questions to learn what game style might be a good match, then made recommendations accordingly. Being a sales person myself, I found his approach extremely satisfying even if I wasn't the customer being helped. I had walked in the door looking for one specific game (Unexploded Cow, by Cheapass Games). GG didn't have it. You'd think that would rub me the wrong way, but I knew this game is pretty hard to find on a store shelf, so I decided to browse around. I did find some other Cheapass games; I decided to pick up a "real-life" version of Kill Doctor Lucky so I don't need to keep using my downloaded-and-homemade version. I was also delighted to see they had Liar's Dice in stock--that game went out of print *decades* ago, and I didn't know it had been brought back! This was another game where I had crafted a homemade version (after all, it was out of print) and, being such a family favorite, I had to buy that one, too. This is also a traditional game store in that they have 6 or 8 tables set up for actual game play. So I guess you can get together with your closest friends for a night of Magic (or whatever it is the kids are playing these days). Never in my life have I played in a gaming session in an actual game store, but this looks like a good place to do so if that's your thing. So, yeah. This is a great little place. Come on in and see what sort of treasures you might find. read more

I walked in to this store and was a leery. It was a little dark. But now that I have shopped there and got to know Zack, that is just the ambiance of this store and I love it! Zack was very personable, gave some great advice on some games. He was very knowledgeable on all of the games he has in stock and Magic the Gathering. I don't play Magic but there was a customer there that did and he was able to talk very intelligently about the cards the guy was asking about. This is what customer service is about knowing your products, knowing your customer base and knowing how to treat your customers with respect. I not from Lehi, I was visiting from another state, if I come back these guys have my business. I may just pop in to talk with Zack! That is the type of impression this place made on me. Learn a new game at Epic! I can only imagine how difficult it must be to run a retail board game business these days--there's so much competition online and in the malls. The people at Epic look past the competition and provide what the websites and busy mall stores can't--personalized customer service. For example, on a recent visit the store owner took the time to teach me and my family a game we had never played before. It was a great experience... and it resulted in a new addition to the family game collection. read more
