Warby Parker has joined the list of sell-out companies you can no longer trust. It's unfortunate because they were an amazing brand. Been purchasing glasses for over 10 years, a total of 13 orders and recently started using them as my eye doctor. There was a short time when I had vision insurance so I went to MyEyeDr, who were good but didn't like their selection of glasses. But I've mostly been a cash customer for eyes and if you're going to go corporate, then Warby Parker was the brand. Not anymore.
Like my vision my face has changed over the years. I was so happy when they helped me find a pair of glasses that sit up higher on my face. The past few frames, the glass towards the bottom presses up against my cheeks, which makes the coating dissolve over time. That's not an issue anymore and I'm really happy they helped me find a pair. The experiment went very pear shaped when the new glasses blurred my vision slightly. I have to move them back down to even see what I'm typing right now. Just ever so slightly but enough.
The problem is trying to convey this to the staff. I cannot see well out of my new glasses. Their solution was to upsell me on progressives. Did not bother to look at the glasses or my eyes... that I needed progressives because my last pair were progressives and that's it. The pair before my progressive... I can see way clearer than I can out of my new pair!! They will not listen to me. I have almost every pair of my old glasses and have ran thru them all to where my vision has really changed. It's the new glasses, not that they are not progressives.
I travel for work 6 months of the year, work about 90 hour work weeks in all weather imaginable. Not only is my time limited but I need a doctor who I can trust as I get older and my visions changes while working in outside conditions. I'm not wearing contacts anymore and almost bought a pair of prescription sunglasses, so happy I didn't! I have about 3 different toothbrushes depending on where I am, and learning I need to do the same with glasses/sunglasses. I need protection for my eyes, and this all just went in a bad direction as I start a new path of not wearing contacts at all anymore. Could have been worse, but they didn't even look at my eyes or glasses after I expressed concern. Or listen. I really can't believe that the employee named Bree try to ask if I wanted to upgrade to progressives like my last pair. I'm so tired of people selling me things. The progressive did not work for me as I explained to the doctor (even though she wrote a progressive prescription I didn't need) and absolutely regret that purchase before this one because of the cost. My last two Warby Parker experiences are regrettable, there will not be a third.
I returned the glasses for a refund and will try to find a local eye doctor. Now is the time for local. It's just a shame, they use to be a great company. The lady who helped me find the glasses was amazing, too bad her worth is wasted there. read more
