John is a good salesman, but not a good optician. Found out about a year and a few months later…read morethat the anti-reflective coating was coming off the inside of the lenses, but they were out of warranty. I've had glasses where the coating remained in good shape for 5+ years, but now these are unwearable after 2. Went to a new optician and then found out the frames were way too small, with the temples bowed way out as they reached my ears. At $800, the price paid was exorbitant in relation to the fitting and longevity/quality of the service. Never returning here.

I started with them…read moreyears ago and to this date I am still very happy with them. they always work with my budget and always are kind enough to tell me the truth about how my glasses look .. This is a very big deal to me since I am color blind .. you have no idea how I used to dress before i started asking sales people for help. They help me pick out frames that fit my face (small and small eyes ) they keep it within my budget. They do not manipulate you into buying designer frames like cohen's or vision works or lens crafters does sachem gives you that home welcome feeling all around from the drs reception everywhere the gentlemen who help pick out my glasses ( it wasn't rich ) he is awesome. I get so many compliments on my glasses and the way they look on me .. Sachem Eye care is the most honest, personable. place you can be they go above and beyond for you.

The last time I was there I ordered six month supply of contacts instead of a year and they told me…read morethat I could place an order for another six months without being seen because I only need a yearly check up. When I tried ordering my six months supply today they not only wouldn't do so without another exam (which my insurance won't cover due to it being six months from my previous one) but they didn't have an appointment available until after I ran out of contacts and supposedly don't have any sample contacts in stock. So basically "We lied about your ability to reorder, you can't be seen before you run out and it suks to be you." Not the kind of office I want to deal with ever again.

In addition, I have an autoimmune issue that could cause vision loss and the doctor who performed my exam took extra care to be sure nothing abnormal was happening. He was patient and helped me understand the issues. Finally, the staff helped me find new frames for my progressive lenses that aligned with my insurance benefits and flattered my face. I have gotten numerous compliments on them. Best of all, there was NO period of adjustment for these glasses. I often forget I'm wearing them.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Pearle Vision in Stony Brook. From the moment I…read morewalked in, the entire team was welcoming, professional, and genuinely focused on helping me. You can immediately tell when a place truly cares about their customers, and this location absolutely does. I have to give special recognition to Carol. She was simply exceptional. Her knowledge, patience, and kindness were on another level. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt completely comfortable with every decision. You rarely come across someone who is this professional, this knowledgeable, and this genuinely caring all at the same time. To be honest, I could go on and on about how great she was. Carol is the kind of person every business hopes to have on their team. If more people in customer service were like her, the world would be a much better place. If you're looking for great service and a team that truly cares, this Pearle Vision location is the place to go

I finally got my glasses today, I can now write a review about my experience…read more Pearle Vision is owned by Luxottica, the Black Hand of eyewear and is now one of the largest franchised optical retailers in the USA. My wife and I were getting coffee and decided to stop in to browse. My wife is on a mission to get a funky pair of Burberry frames. A salesperson comes over and starts helping her with the various frames. They were able to find the pair she wanted online. Now, my wife turns her attention to me and says, look at these frames, I think they'd look nice on you. I try them on, sure enough, I look like a runway model. Sold! Now we need to upgrade our eyewear prescription. The person giving me the eye exam, I'm joking with her and we're making small talk. She's finished with the exam and I'm told my glasses should be ready in a few days. A few days pass and I get a call, my glasses are ready. I pick them up and the next day I wear them for the first time. I noticed the long distance was blurry? That night, I went back to the black hand of eyewear and I said check these glasses because my eyes are going batshit crazy. When I was there, the optometrist is working. He gives me a new eye exam and checks the prescription. He said the distance was increased? I guess that's what you get when you joke around with the eye examiner.. The problem was rectified, I just picked up my glasses with the correct lens. Now I can see like a hawk! No harm, no foul on the mistaken prescription. I do have to point out one thing, this place smells like there was a flood? Change the damn carpet, its mildewed!
