I do not have vision insurance, so they made sure to let me know that a contact lens exam was not covered by my general health insurance. They also offer a rebate for contact lenses if you purchase through them. If you are a first time patient, they recommend you fill out their new patient form either online and send through email or print it out and bring it in for your appointment. This helps get you in and out quickly if you're uncomfortable with being out due to the pandemic. All staff are also masked, and there is a glass partition between the reception and the waiting room. I noticed Dr. Debbie Kim also held up a piece of transparent plastic between herself and me when she had to lean in closely to examine my eyes. I truly appreciate how thorough Dr. Debbie Kim is. She is the most detail-oriented optometrist I've ever had. She is mindful of small details like your mask potentially creating condensation on the examination tools, which could inhibit the accuracy of the exam. She really takes her time to make sure that your vision is checked accurately. I've had optometrists in the past who rush me through the exam and leave me with an inaccurate glasses prescription. So I'm happy with how calm and precise she is. After my exam was done, and I had gone home, I realized I forgot to ask for a copy of my glasses and contact lens prescription. I emailed them the same day of the exam, and they got back to me the day of with a copy of my prescription. The entire process was so smooth. I highly recommend Dr. Debbie Kim's office for vision care.

From the initial consultation to the surgeries and follow-up care, every aspect of the experience was handled with exceptional skill, efficiency, and attention to detail. Dr. Fishkin and his entire team exemplify the highest standards of medical care and administrative excellence. If the world operated the way Dr. Fishkin and his staff do, we would all be walking on clouds. Their professionalism, organization, and patient-centered approach should be taught in medical schools as a model of excellence. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for Dr. Fishkin and his team. I highly recommend them to anyone considering cataract surgery or seeking outstanding eye care.

Dr. Fishkin's office schedules numerous appointments before and after the surgery; he and his staff make the patient feel welcome and well-cared for. Dr. Fishkin carefully explains the surgery and what to expect. He calls the night before the surgery, the night the surgery occurred, and the night after. As for the surgery itself, Dr. Fishkin sees the patient before and after. During the surgery, the patient feels confident and reassured as Dr. Fishkin says, "You're doing great," and explains each step. I recommend him to everyone needing eye care. We are so lucky to have this amazing doctor practicing in New Jersey.

I went in to get my eyes checked to get new glasses and after the refraction exam, he gave me a…read morecomputerized test that analyzed my eyes without asking me if I wanted the test. He then said that my optic nerve looked strange using this machine, and asked me to return the next week so that he could further analyze my optic nerve using some newfangled equipment, which was on loan to another doctor at the moment. So, I returned and the technician (his son-in-law), conducted the computerized test. Ross then said that my optic nerve still looked swollen and advised me to return in a few months because it was likely that the swelling was caused by some medications that I was taking. So, I asked him to give me a printout of what he saw in his computerized machine and write down what he thought the problem was - he wrote "papillodema" with 3 question marks at the end. Papillodema as I discovered on the internet, is swelling in the brain, indicating a very serious illness (MS or a brain tumor)!!! I then brought this to a real MD who asked me if my pupils had been dilated (which they hadn't), so he did so. The dialation indicated that my optic nerve was healthy and pink and not swollen. I showed him the printout that I received from Dr. Ross and he just said,"what am I supposed to do with this?" So, be very wary of this so-called Doctor. He evidently bought some very expensive machinery which he is trying to pay-off at the expense of unnecessarily alarming his patients. Furthermore, he should have just dialated my pupils himself, instead of scaring me.
