I went in for a routine eye exam and everyone was thorough, and able address concerns on the spot. - there is a big parking lot across the street so that's easy considering the difficulties of street parking on a busy day - I had a long wait for my appointment (arrived at 2:20 and didn't leave until 3:40) but I'd say that's a neutral complaint for me and not necessarily anyone's fault. The negative: - whoever answers the phone (in multiple phone calls) did not let me finish my sentences. This is relevant because if i was able to just ask my full questions, I probably wouldn't have needed to come in for an exam at all. - I've called back post-visit to ask a couple questions about purchasing lenses and got transferred 3-4 times with little clarity. I've never had a problem with other providers not being able to tell me simple things like costs associated with exams/purchases. Just frustrating

Had me fill a costly pre-cataract eye drop prescription prior to surgery, only to tell me I couldn't use it because of mediation allergies (which I previously reported at first meeting and mentioned afterwards) so I was stuck with a bill for a useless medication. Then they reported to Medicare that they performed surgery on my left eye, when they had done so on my right eye, so I had to prove to Medicare to change the file to avoid rejection when my left eye finally got done (which I later had done elsewhere). Staff and Surgeon didn't communicate with each other and when they did, they gave opposing answers. All they wanted was to move me through so they could get their money from my insurance. Thoroughly examining her requires much more time than usual, more empathy than is typical, and a great deal of creative problem solving. Dr Guba and his staff went above and beyond to get the job done as well as it could possibly be done. We were grateful for all they did and thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. We highly recommend anyone to utilize his services who needs them.

My eyes felt normal in 4 days. .He uses Zoom Docs which allowed me to fill out my patient forms online. I loved that. All I had to do was to bring my insurance card and my driver's license. When I got to the front desk, they told me that my zoom documents were not at the office. On my smartphone, I had a text message that showed they received my documentation 15 minutes prior to my appointment. They made me fill out the documents again by hand. I had the first appointment at 9:00am. I returned the 5 page document back 10 minutes later. I saw the doctor at 9:45am. Just before they were going to take me in at 9:40am, I wanted to cancel my appointment because I make it a practice not to wait for a physician more than 1/2 hour. I was further insulted and told that I had to cancel online. It was then an assistant pulled me into an examining room. All in all, the doctor is very good, but the front desk is not. The wait time is unacceptable, but they thought they did not have my information (turned out they did). I'll give them one more shot. Maybe it was an aberration. I went in for contacts and my daughter wanted glasses. With my VSP insurance Stefany told me for the 6 month supply it's $26 and for the year I would pay $150 out of pocket. Then she told me that I was paying about $160 for my daughter's glasses. She charged my card $350. So the lies started here. It took 3 weeks to be able to pick up the contacts and the glasses. They handed me 2 boxes ( 1 box for each eye) when I was supposed to get 4 boxes. Then I looked at the enclosed receipt and I was charged $190 for 2 boxes of contacts. Mind you they use 1800 contacts to order your contacts. So they are adding extra money on top of the discounted price of the contacts. I was told on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 that I couldn't get a refund until I've spoken to Stefany and Maya (the manager). Stefany refused to provide the phone number at the office in Passaic where Maya was working. Maya is the only person who can process a refund. She is prompt when returning phone calls but she's very dismissive. I explained several times what happen and she replied I didn't provide stefany with my insurance. Now how does that make sense when they processed my insurance for my daughter? Then she tried to say I was ordering color contacts and told me it cost $95 per box. That was incorrect because I needed the Alcon air optic for astigmatism and stefany ordered Alcon air optic plus hydraglyde for astigmatism. So my total order is incorrect on top of the charge. Maya calls me back then tried to offer me the contacts for a low price of $80 per box. After that wasn't good enough she said they don't match prices and doesn't use 1800 contacts. That's funny when stefany was able to offer me the contacts at $59.99 per box then times 4= $239.96. So now Stefany want to take that $239.96-$164 (the difference for 6 month supply)=$75.96, but she stated if I would give her $75.96 more dollars it will all be squared away. Now why would I do this or pay anymore money when I've already been overcharged? My insurance covers $130 so how or why would I need to pay $190 or anything extra on top of that. Now Maya calls me back for a 3rd time and finally ask for my husband's info so she can indeed look at my insurance. So the 4th and final time on this day she called me back with an offer she never does. I can get the 2 extra boxes for $170 and she will refund me $20. By doing this she's still not using my insurance but just trying to make me go away and still be out of money. I told her I have 2 boxes and for 2 boxes I will pay $26 and that I want $164 refunded to me when she comes into the office. My daughter's billing was done correctly and I did get refunded but it wasn't a smooth process. It took 3 days to get resolved. The only issue I had with my daughter's glasses was that they billed my insurance company for the polycarbonate lens when that wasn't never discussed. Also, now stefany isn't allowed to now show customers the 1800 contacts pricing. Just shady shady business. I wouldn't recommend this place because of these two. Sorry to the kind lady who works beside stefany. She was extremely pleasant. I wish I knew her name to state it.
