Their new arrivals bin is by far the largest of all the record stores in a 40 mile radius. I just wish they were a bit cheaper. They're second to Cheapo in terms of prices. Big Dig, Want List, Armageddon and Stereo Jacks are all significantly cheaper in my opinion. I've seen records that go for $3 (with better sleeve conditions) at other stores sell for $12-15 at Planet. I understand the location is probably quite expensive for them. The staff is quiet, but they will help you if you ask them. Regardless, a tremendous store. If you're into records, pay them a visit!

While we were a bit disappointed not to sell everything, the staff was thorough in explaining their selection process and even recommended other places where we might have better luck. The first time I stopped by, it was closed, but I called anyway. Eleni answered, and she couldn't have been kinder. She's hard of hearing, but she was incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to open up and help me find the kinds of records I was looking for. I'm really glad I went back. The selection was great, and what stood out even more was the atmosphere. A couple of other people were there chatting, helping her out, and digging through records of their own. It felt like a true neighborhood record store where people gather because they love music. That's getting harder to find these days. If you're in the area and enjoy vinyl, it's absolutely worth a visit. Just remember to bring cash, because it's cash only. Small businesses like this deserve the support.

Too bad, customer service is OK, but it's hard to find something affordable and in decent shape to get.

He carefully cleaned each record with three machines. Being the perfectionist he is, I watched him take a tiny piece of styrofoam, and drop it on the record, just to assure it effortlessly slid off with no static. He then slides each spotless record into a new sleeve, then takes the entire album cover, and places it into a new plastic sleeve. He then tells me it's to assure that both record, and album cover stay in optimal condition long-term. Dave is one of those few people you meet that genuinely cares about what he does, and us vinyl lovers are better for it. Thank you Dave!

Worst service ever! Completely rude pushy owner with no concern for the customer only for himself…read moreand trying to aggressively retain your business before you even spend a dime. I emailed this company twice to clean a record I have, finally got a response today, the owner named Dave tells me to call him. I call him and tell him how I have this record I just received that needs a deep clean as it's very important to me and I've been looking for it for 10+ years (probably won't see another copy again) and it arrived to me dirty & figure the play could improve with a clean. He says he doesn't do one record, he does batches of nine. I told him I'm not interested in doing a batch of nine but I will pay him whatever it cost for a batch of nine or whatever just to clean this ONE record. Literally ready to pay whatever with no problem. Apparently money wasn't talking in this situation because he still doesn't care for or answer my concern or offer his service but proceeds to ask me 21 questions about my WHOLE collection (like he's trying to clean all of my records to get more money) and is more concerned with retaining me as a returning customer before I even paid a dime. He even asks me how do I clean all my records? What tools do I use? Why is that your concern? I'm calling to pay YOU for a service to clean ONE record ‍ After being annoyed & pitched all these different things for 10 minutes straight which I didn't want and kept telling him that, I proceeded to just say I'll send you nine records if you really want just so I can get this one record cleaned to which he replies now he's scared to work with me because I "sound aggressive" & he doesn't want any problems? All I was trying to do was give you money for a service That place should go under the town of Holliston! What a mess.

However, the vibe has changed over the years and this location feels different than the one in Boston. This one feels more like a gift shop than the nostalgic collectors store that I grew up with. Anyways, got some pop figures for my nephew. They have a large collection. Staff seem friendly. Overall, I always find the stuff in Newbury to be interesting, especially gifting teenagers. Newbury comics has the best cd prices and has all genres of music. For all the underground, or indie stuff that you can't find elsewhere, Newbury Comics is sure to have. The rumor about Nebury Comics is that it was created by two Ivy League students, that wanted to have a comic store and music, and hence here it is today. I also really like their selection of oversized posters. A must stop by place for the incoming college student. You are sure to find things to dec out your new pad. There are box sets, comic books, a few novels, postcards, gifts, candy, tee shirts... kind of a smaller version of the west coast Amoeba (spelling please). Love this establishment and I hope that new new revolution of music purchasing via itunes won't disturb this fantastic company.
