I recently got into collecting vinyl after picking up a new turntable, and while I had some extra time in Natick, I decided on a whim to see if there was a local record store nearby. The first time I stopped by, it was closed, but I called anyway. Eleni answered, and she couldn't have been kinder. She's hard of hearing, but she was incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited to open up and help me find the kinds of records I was looking for. I'm really glad I went back. The selection was great, and what stood out even more was the atmosphere. A couple of other people were there chatting, helping her out, and digging through records of their own. It felt like a true neighborhood record store where people gather because they love music. That's getting harder to find these days. Always be sure to call ahead to make an appointment, as the shop is run by just one very nice lady who has back-to-back appointments. When I went in to sell my records, she was constantly getting calls, but she still made sure to give us attention and ensure we were well taken care of. We brought in over 100-150 old vinyl records to sell. We had already done our research and knew they weren't worth much, but we still wanted to see what we could get. Most of the records were from less popular artists, and she patiently explained which ones would sell and which wouldn't. We were expecting her to turn them down, but she surprised us by making an offer for the whole lot at a fair price. She even added a bit more to her initial offer. The service was excellent, and I would definitely return if I ever decide to sell more of my vinyl records. Just make sure to call ahead, as she mentioned that she's getting busier. read more

I came in yesterday to sell a large number of records to Eleni. This was my second time dealing with her so I knew that she was very honest and generous in her offers. After spending about 30 minutes going through each record she made me a very fair cash offer for the records which I accepted. I realized that I wanted to keep one of the records for sentimental reasons and asked her to deduct the price of that one. She said it was ok if I wanted to keep it and didn't deduct anything from her offer. As I was getting ready to leave, she asked me why I was selling so many records and I told her that I was moving to CA. She asked me if I had 50 dollars and when I said yes, she gave me 100.00 and told me that the 50 dollar gift was for my "first dinner in CA". OMG, I not only had the best record store experience of my life but also made a new friend in shop owner extraordinare Elani. Visiting from Seattle we decided to go here based on the great Yelp rating. When we walked in, three generations, my Mom, myself and my son, we were not entirely sure about it but as soon as we started talking with Elani she started bringing boxes of amazing records to us suited to all of our tastes and at incredible prices. When we went to buy our bounty she added records to our individual lots that we each had put back. Eventually we had the pleasure of grabbing lunch with her, which was great fun. It's a special place and I'll always remember the day and visit when I am back in town. read more

Trying to sell your old vinyl record collection can be a major headache. My wife and I certainly didn't have a major inventory, (185 45's & 150 Albums) but our stock was well preserved. We even cataloged every song (artist, title, label, conditon) and sent email listings to several record stores in the business of selling vintage hits across the music spectrum (pop, rock, jazz, soul, etc, etc). Despite countless hours of cleaning all the records, then boxing them according to the prepared category listings, (as described above) followed by emailing all the detail to various sellers, we did not get the response we expected. Kind of lukewarm really, until we discovered and called Deja Vu records in Natick and spoke with the owner Eleni. She expressed a keen interest in going over our stock if we could bring them down to her shop. Upon arriving at her store, we were impressed that she went through the trouble of reserving the choice parking spot in front of her shop with snow cones. After we pulled our Rav 4 in, she simply had us open the back hatch and examined our stock directly from the boxes. She began pulling out a select few and my wife and I began feeling a bit depressed, thinking we would be going home with most of the records. She was talking to us all the while explaining her method, but still, we were not hopeful. Tina and I had a price in mind for the whole collection and Eleni was only pulling what she was interested in. Out of the blue, Eleni offered a price for "the whole shebang". It was exactly the price Tina and I had in mind (which we thought was very fair and reasonable). I had taken a guitar along with me because Eleni said she would also be interested in musical instruments. It was a 50 year old Harmony folk guitar with a steel reinforced neck in excellent condition. Again I had a price in my head and she offered exactly what I was thinking of. I exclaimed - "that is exactly what I was going to ask". Between the price for the record collection, following up with the guitar sale, I thought she was reading my mind! Eleni has a "very generous" inventory of record albums in her neat, spacious store and she is "very generous" with her time talking to customers. Tina and I had a wonderful experience dealing with her. She was very fair with her offer, and while conversing with her we felt the building of a new friendship. In the end, all the frustration Tina and I felt preparing our stock for sale, barely raising a stir from anyone, Eleni erased all that with our trip to Deja Vu records. My advice; make her store your first stop whether selling or buying vintage records. read more

Three important things to know about Deja Vu Records: 1) Personal check is the preferred method of payment. You'll probably run into more gems than you know what to do with, and since card isn't accepted (duh), this is the best way to go. 2) Bring a crate or a box. There's very little surface space to store your finds, and Eleni - the owner - will probably give you a discount just for thinking ahead. 3) Check out the last small room in the back (right hand side). This is where eleni keeps all of her primo stuff! Mint conditions, shrink wrapped, high value vinyls. Okay, so I think it's pretty obvious that I love Deja Vu Records. I've criticized attic-style record stores before, but there are a few things that make Deja Vu special. First off, Eleni is awesome. The store may look disorganized (and it probably is), but Eleni is super helpful, and we're pretty certain that she has an eidetic memory. She's great for picking out other records that might interest you, even going so far as to set items aside between visits. The problem I normally have with these kinds of stores is that it's usually just piles of total crap, with maybe a diamond in the rough here and there. But Eleni likes to move records in bulk, and so you'll almost always run into great records no matter where you look. Classic Sabbath? Awesome! Mint Condition Ramones? Yes please! The Wonder Years Soundtrack? Well everyone has a guilty pleasure. At Deja Vu, bulk is the name of the game, and it's factored heavily into pricing. Eleni has a vague idea as to how much she's willing to let stuff go for, but you will hear a lot of "don't put anything back, I might give it to you for .99 cents" and "these are about $3 each, but if you take all three, I'll give it to you for $5." But walking out of the place with a crate full of records for only $65 will give any music lover a natural high. Eleni is the best, sweet, but spunky enough to be a shrewd business woman. During our last visit, after ringing out, she threw in The Who, Live at Leeds as "a present" and suggested that during the week, we should come by one evening for pizza and beer, while we shop and listen to records. I have really been remiss in not leaving a review for DejaVu Records before now. This is such a great used record store. My wife bought me a turntable for Christmas 2018, so after a 30 year break I was back into the vinyl scene like so many others. So, the day after Christmas I was on Yelp looking to see what was in my area for used record stores and the first one that popped up was DejaVu Records. In my town and only 2.5 miles away! 10 minutes later I was walking into the store, and 2 hours later I was walking out with almost 20 records, for what I believed was a ridiculously reasonable amount of money. From reading the Yelp reviews earlier I knew that shop owner Eleni priced records on the spot when you're ready to check out. I know some don't like this approach, but I have no problem with this, Eleni has rarely, if ever, given me a price I balked at. Several times when I was short on cash she said I could pay her the next time I was in. She wasn't too worried about it, she knew the next time would only be a matter of days. Since I live so close I find myself there at least weekly, which is both good and bad! Yes, if you have any degree of OCD you may not appreciate the appearance of the store. It can get pretty cluttered when she has more inventory than usual. But to me that's just part of the charm of the store. Very often I've found some nice jazz selections while thumbing through the classical records. If you have a chance to stop in I'd highly recommend it. But you might want to call in advance, store hours are not always on a firm schedule. read more

There are so many good things to say about Deja Vu records. If you're new to the world of vinyl, I couldn't think of a better place to start your collection. Not only will you walk out with crates full of pristine records, but you'll probably only spend 50 or 60 dollars doing so. On my first trip with my boyfriend, we collectively got around 40 records for a whopping total of $70 dollars. My boyfriend has been a collector of mostly 60s/70s rock and folk for 10+ years and still scores albums he's been looking for for years each time we go. Eleni, the woman who owns and runs the store, is practically my surrogate grandmother. Once, I was the only person in the store and she asked if I'd drive her down the street to pick up a pizza, so I did, and we went back to the store and sat eating pizza and drinking soda just chit chatting. She's cute and Greek and you should bring her baklava and beer. I adore her to pieces. I implore you all to go and support her business, though I'm tempted to keep this place a secret as it's a complete gem. read more

Deja Vu Records is AWESOME! Record shops used to be much more common to find, and haven't gone completely "the way of the dinosaur", but are close to it. Yet, this statement is not true for the Town Of Natick. Natick still has 2 record shops, this being one and "Listen Up" being the other one. Elaine, the owner of this shop is amazing. She is so friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. She is always in a great, energetic mood and is always very pleasant. She carries a wide variety of records as well as some VHS'. She has thousands and thousands of records, varying from any music in the past. Records go on sale frequently, and she is always restocking! The only difficult thing about this store is to find a time when it is open. There are no set hours for Deja Vu, and therefore, it is tough to know in advance when she is in and when she is not. I will definitely be returning soon and would suggest this store to anyone looking for records or in the record business! I'm happy to echo what other reviewers have said- this place is nothing short of amazing. The owner, Eleni is very sweet and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself every time I've been to Deja Vu. The store is pretty unorganized, but that's really the fun of it- you never know what you'll find. We stumbled upon a copy of Paul Simon's Graceland in great condition over near the jazz/soundtracks area. This is my favorite vinyl shop ever, it's a little overwhelming, but the store owner, Elaini knows exactly where everything is. I'm not in Natick too often, but when I am and have some free time, I have to stop by. Although, she prefers that you call ahead and inquire as to if the shop is open, as she leaves frequently to stock up on more vinyl. She is the most reasonable and sweet business owner I have ever run into. While she has the most fair prices, be sure to hit up the ATM before you go unless you carry a checkbook with you. Every time I go, I end up leaving with more vinyl and spend less money than I anticipated to. Elaini always gives me some "surplus" records that are related to what I am buying, and checks all of the vinyl to make sure that none of it is warped or scratched up. If there is anything wrong, she will look for an identical record to replace it with. This is the kind of place you want to take your time to look at everything since the organization can be a little confusing - however this always leads me to find more great treasures. She says, "don't put any back, don't put any back! you don't know what I'll sell it for!" She usually takes $5 off her pricing at the end of "check out," too. One time though, I bought some picture discs which made my total a little higher than usual and I was a little short on cash so I said I would put some away, but she insisted I take them all for the money I had with me. Her kindness, generosity, and musical knowledge are one of the reasons I will always return. I always hear her ask customers how they heard about her store, and they respond by saying they found her online. I highly encourage you to go ASAP and to bring/tell your friends, family and acquaintances about it by way of internet and word of mouth. Eleni was so very kind to me...I came away wishing I was a record collector myself so that I'd have a reason to go back! Holy bologna! Amazing. Drove out from Somerville to go to the Container Store and searched for local record shops. Walked in and found a few others digging thru boxes and the sweetest little shop keeper, Eleni, a little old Greek lady, who might have been the kindest person I have ever met. Found mint condition Pink Floyd, Skynyrd, Jimmy Buffett and Journey, all for a reasonable price. When I told Eleni I didn't have cash on hand, she told me "just pay me next time". I quickly told her "No way!" and shot up the street to an ATM to grab cash. I will DEFINITELY be coming back to dig very soon. P.S. This place is like no other record store you'll ever go to. The owner is a little Greek woman named Eleni, and she is one hell of a wheeler and dealer. She stocks her store with collections sold by collectors, which means she can sell records dirt cheap. I picked up 14 records for $40, all of them $10-15 records anywhere else. It is unorganized in a sense, but Eleni can direct you to what you are looking for. The real joy is in combing through boxes upon boxes of records and happening upon something special. The only thing to keep in mind is bring time and cash. You won't get out of there in anything shorter than an hour, and they only accept cash and cheque. This is the best record store ever. The music is mostly older and you wont find new releases of anything, but the selection is great and the prices are better. I regularly walk out of there with 6-7 records for $20. That's a steal where other places like Newbury Comics charge $20 or more for 1 record. The owner's nuttiness and eccentricities hit the wall today. On previous occasions I had tolerated her hounding me, randomly taking away lps from my pile at "check out" and asking me to cart her downtown for errands. Today, what finally was the last straw for me was digging through the mess of a store for 30 minutes and then her coming over to tell me that the cheapest lp was 5 bucks and the majority of them were 7 and up. Mind you, on previous trips classical records averaged about 1.70 each. What I had was no different then on past visits. I'm done with this crazy old lady. She should pack it in, so sad! read more

This place is just amazing. If you live in New England area, you have to stop by. Be ready to hunt through boxes and boxes of records. The owner is just so friendly and awesome. Having been here dozens of time, this place is indeed a gem. I am an audiophile, and something about the older pressings (especially jazz) that make them very much magical. I always pick out clean and quality pressings, and that's the fun part. Nothing feels better than finding a Verve or Blue Note record in one of the boxes, take out the disc and find it to be near mint. And at the end, her price is amazing, so affordable, and it seems to be out of joy and love for music rather than profit. Be patient when you go here and you'll find some awesome stuff. read more
