I purchased a slice of lemon pound bread, it seemed hard and cold so I asked the lady at the counter if she could heat it up in its package and she said no because I had taken a bite out of it. This is a smaler Barnes Location. It moved from across the street from Shoppper's World to Sherwood plaza a couple years ago. Still a pretty good selection of books and bookish items. read more

It has been completely redone and is gorgeous. It's open, big and has a lot of different sections. The lady who helped me (I believe her name was Cait) was amazing and had the best recommendations. I would specifically go back just to talk to her about books. They also had many books that were buy 1, get 1 half off. I wish they did a student/teacher discount but they do have a rewards program. Parking is easy because it's in a big lot! read more

This Barnes and Noble is deceptively large and well-stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. My son loves the collection of Japanese Manga while I enjoy the historical fiction and fiction sections. Put aside some time so you can poke around! There aren't a ton of places to sit so you can read the first chapter of the book you are considering purchasing (as I am prone to do) so keep that in mind if you go during a busy time. read more

I was shopping here less than a week ago, in the evening. It was surprisingly quiet given the time of year. I wandered over to the area with hardcover new releases. This happens to be near the front of the store, behind the information/help desk. I heard a fairly young, white male employee at the desk telling a black female customer that she was being rude. I did not hear their exchange prior to this, but I definitely noticed that he was speaking in a snarky way to her. She said something back about her not being rude, and then he said very loudly "F*#k you lady!" and stormed off from the desk. Totally unacceptable. I've worked retail and it is not easy, especially at the holidays. But it is NEVER ok to treat a customer like that. Employees represent the store and brand. read more

Recently I read "A Swim Back Home" by Denise Sawyer. I found myself engulfed in this novel as she creatively takes you back to her 1960's childhood to Colonia, NJ to much local neighborhood excitement and adventure! The references were so real and definitely hit home to any baby boomer like myself ! I highly recommend this book ! read more

rude customer service, I am a frequent reader and I typically order online, but I went in today.

I go to this location more than any of the others in the local radius to my home. I like it a lot here and it is a very manageable spot. Generally, parking is breeze and the staff are pretty helpful. It is big enough to have a good selection of stuff (like the magazine section which is the best in that area) but not too big to get lost. My only complaint is that the Starbuck's is too small and there are never enough places to sit (people table squat here and it is a little annoying). Also, this Starbuck's is independent of B&N so you do not get the B&N 10% card discount like you do at the other B&Ns that have a Starbuck's imbedded in the store. read more

It's nice to walk into a bricks and mortar bookstore. To browse. To thumb through books. I may be old fashioned since I read books I don't read a kindle or a nook. Staff is happy to let you sit and read a few pages. There is a bit of a hard sell for membership at checkout. I dont know if it was racial thing but the other day I feel asleep on one of the sofas sets and a crazy old man with glasses decided that it was ok to yell in my ear purposely with a loud voice and ask " was i ok" but only just to tell me I wasn't allowed to nap here.. must of been a manager ... but the problem was that I've seen many people napping there or even eating lunch on their phones and it's usually the same people .. so why come bother me ?its because I'am of color ? .. Cashier was very slow. After asking me if I want to be added to some list, what my email address is, blood type, next of kin, mother's maiden name, and the name of my first pet, she then wastes more of my time by reading the back of the book I am trying to purchase and asks "Is this the one about anti-Semitism?". Um...well, honestly, how would I know what a book I haven't read is about... I explain that I'm in a rush and need to get going, so she gives me my change back, only it's the wrong amount. Most book stores are laid out in a very easy fashion and pretty roomy with helpful sales people and an adequate staff. Now enter this mess of a place. It is crammed into this small corner spot in the nightmare that is Shoppers World in Framingham. The layout is so screwed up it takes you forever to figure out where you are and what section you are in. Then throw in the lack of sales people and two cashiers open to service 20 people. Now stuff a Starbucks and it adds even more crowds and shrinks the place even more. There you have it. One of the worst B+N I have ever visited. read more

I love bookstores, and it's really sad to see some of them, like Borders, closing up locations. This B&N is the closest to me, and where I go for magazines and books. I do have a Kindle on iPad and sometimes read books on that, but it doesn't compare to holding a real book, especially one with the pictures etc. They have the best selection of magazines and I always find unique ones that you don't come across elsewhere. They added that nook thing in the center, which I find slightly annoying, and it seems that some of the book stock they carried shrunk to accommodate them adding this. I love the recommended reading section with books that are recommended by the staff. Also great that they have a starbucks here. read more

Apologies to all B&N fans, but I really hate B&N. The B&N policy of moving in right next door to another bookstore and basically running over in order to grow, while making sense financially, does not endear itself to those who have lost those dear old bookstores that had to close down thanks to that policy. Books are more personal and it's awful how B&N is going around trampling down small bookstores. I will forever be anti-B&N thanks to this particular B&N that shut down my favorite Borders Bookstore. I basically grew up with this Borders. I have moved to a different state, and now when I go back it is no longer there. And to stay on topic, aside from their policy, I dislike this and other B&N stores for their atmosphere. Everything is dark. It's like going into a cave and the staff that I've come across are irritated and unhelpful as well as rude. Borders I have come across are usually bright and cheerful, and the staff is friendly under most circumstances. Aside from my personal dislike, BORDERS now has this membership program that is actually FREE and you get weekly news e-mails that usually have coupons (sometimes big titles go up to 40% off) and you get some money back after you spend a big amount of money (a big plus if you spend that big amount of money quite often and I do). On top of that you don't have go give any personal information except for your name and e-mail. The reason I went into details about Borders program is to contrast it to B&N program, which I admit I'm not too familiar with except I do know that they charge you for the membership, so you would have to buy quite a bit before you get your money's worth back EVEN BEFORE you actually start saving. On top of that, last time I checked, you have to give all your personal info, street address, etc., in order to enroll. So where're they selling the info to, I'd like to know? So, to wrap it up, B&N SUCKS, and I will NEVER forgive you (this particular B&N) for shutting down my FAVORITE BORDERS where I grew up!!! (And for those of you thinking that if the bookstore had to shut down, then it must've been a crappy one to begin with, I'm telling you straight out that it was the GREATEST Borders, and the only reason it shut down was because the LOCATION was crappy!!!) read more

I love this store! It has everything from history to mystery to various games and puzzles. Special mention to Khyran--hope I spelled that right. This associate struck up a conversation with me in True Crime, convincing me I just had to read Killers of the Flower Moon, a work that combines two of my interests--mystery and history of Indigenous Americans. I see a future in sales for Khyran. Love this store and overall the Barnes and Noble chain of bookstore cafes. read more

I don't go too often anymore, but it is always a great place- esp in the colder months- to get a starbucks, and spend hours perusing books, and then ploppping down in the aisles to read them. It is also great for canoodling with a cute boy woohooo! As far as books, they have kinda everything, as well as a nice selection of display tables with whatever is new and interesting for different genres. Nothing beats a hardcopy version of a book. I'm savvy with Nook and tablets in general but when it comes down serious reading I'll go traditional. Barnes & Noble is the only game in town for a "traditional" book store. Their Framingham store is a frequent haunt of mine and I procure much reading material from that location. I appreciate that the layout allows for hassle-free perusal of books when considering whether to purchase them. It doesn't hurt that there's a Starbucks attached to the store where one can dive into a new book while undergoing caffination! read more

I like going to Barnes and Noble, browse their isles, grab cappuccino and sit and read few of many selections they have in the store. Came here to look at the nook. The woman working the nook kiosk was incredibly condescending and rude. I was actually shocked by her attitude. We asked a few questions - like how much space the nook had, and how it compared with other eReaders like it. She answered every question like we were stupid. The truth was that she was totally unknowledgable about the product, and told us to look up the answers online as if it was rediculous that we were even asking such dumb questions. I gave this place 2 stars instead of just 1 because we also bought a book and the cashier that rang us up was very friendly. read more

Next to a Starbucks, this is my favorite place to spend a lazy afternoon solo and aimlessly lost in the shelves of books. Everytime I'm here, I'm guaranteed to spend hours and hours browsing the familiar shelves, but always discovering something interesting that's new and fresh. Whether it's the surprise and fascination of spotting the title of a well known classic or taking interest in reading the summary of a new book, there is so much pondering and introspection in the process. You can find enthusiastic readers on the comfortable lazy chairs, sitting against the wall of books in the midst of the maze of shelves. I used to be actually obsessed with bookstores.... and now, in the technology age and the age of time where you find books for so much less at library book sales or even yard sales, there are very few occasions where Barnes&Noble becomes a place that I actually need to go. Nevertheless, I make sure to still stop and visit my old best friend. The Framingham store is located in Shopper's World and is the first store closest to what I call the "main entrance" to the plaza. The store is decent size and includes all the departments in a normal Barnes&Noble and then some. It has a Starbucks (to contribute to the other five Starbucks locations within one mile), a full Nook center in the middle of the store, and a decent sized media section in the back of the store. They have a large children's section and a somewhat decent gift section. Lots of cookbooks, and gigantic "newsstand" section with lounge chairs and lots of space (something that my local Barnes&Noble lacks). The store is always fully stocked with merchandise, and staff as well. While I don't enjoy waiting in line, it's actually pleasant to often see a line of five people or more here.... they are actually still doing decent business with Amazon, and all the online competition. Employees are knowledgeable and in the rare case in which you are unable to find one, they have amazing search computers to use, throughout the store, to search for any item. Wish all B&N locations could be this great. Definitely one of the best around. 5 stars. read more

Love this place! With an attached Starbucks and adequate seating for coffee and book & magazine perusing, we often make a date night at B&N. Newly remodeled with a HUGE nook section. They have just about every magazine and the staff are very knowledgable when asked obscure questions. Like "whats the name of the book about the boy and there's an upside down dog on the cover, and he does a really confusing math question in it?" She knew what I meant!! (For all you curios minds, it is the curious incident of the dog in the night time..) They have children's story times weekly, and a craft to go along with it. My daughter loves to go there to look for new books. Right inside shoppers world, great location. read more

I love this store in Framingham. Everything about them is customer service. Kathy, an associate, stopped by while I was looking at one of the tables of discounted books and we had a wonderful chat. She asked me if I needed help and because of her, I did make a purchase. I bought my nook at the Salem, New Hampshire store and have been at the 3 story store at the Grove in Los Angeles. No matter where you go, customer service is their bible. Unless they have one and I didn't see it, the store is so huge it needs a map with a YOU ARE HERE arrow. read more

standard average score for this B&N, maybe if they were giving out free lattes id bump it up a star, but for now it gets three. the location is suitable, i like how close it is to my job so if i want a Starbucks i don't have to traverse too far, but on the other hand if work is slow and my in box is empty, i can always go there to read magazines for an hour or so until i can choke down going back (which i would most likely go back to yelp for the remaining time any who...) i have nothing else to say about this place, same as every other one, well maybe more chairs for me to duck responsibility in read more

It's what I'd call a medium sized Barnes & Noble. Way too much space alloted for Nook sales. Why so much space for e-books? There's also a Starbucks here. Relatively good selection. I found the history section disappointing and couldn't find any foreign magazines. I wanted to ask somebody about these, but couldn't find anyone to ask. I went to the book search computer, but it wasn't working. Love the bargain books and gift/card sections. The gentleman who checked us out was super friendly. I like my books in print, so I don't love the huge Nook area taking up possible book space, but welcome to the future. OK location overall. read more

In spite of the vast amount of parking, it can be a bear to visit here unless it's when they first open. Then again, that's to be expected, this is Shopper's World for ya. Can't really say much about the employees, you can't find anyone besides the cashiers if you need help with anything. I prefer to stay a bit closer to home when visiting B & N. read more

Ok I understand it's Christmas week and everyone is shopping. But this store is severely understaffed. The only employee I could find to help me locate a book was behind a counter with 7 people in line. The aisles were so crowded it was nearly impossible to cross from one side of the store to the other. Also it was about 700000 degrees in there. Needless to say I walked out empty handed. read more

It's refreshing to know that some bookstores still exist. They're very rare theses days, it's kind of like seeing a Blockbuster. It feels like a very big store because there are places you can go and find quiet, if needed. It also has a Starbucks inside. It's so funny to me that Barnes & Noble was first to incorporate a Starbucks into it's stores, and now they're in Target. Sign of the times. Great bookstore - either they have what you want or they'll get it for you. Nice discounted/specials section also. I know this isn't the only bookstore like this, but it doesn't matter what time of day it is there are always people sitting on the floor reading.
