You expect all chain stores to treat you the same. Until, you get to Natick…read more My fiancee attempted to return an item (within the return policy time period) to this particular Brookstone and they treated him like he was coming in to rob them of gold. They refused to return the item and were completely unhelpful. As it turns out, we heard that they wouldn't ship an item to another Brookstone because they are sales-hoggers. They care more about their numbers than they do their customers. Brookstone is completely blind-eyed to this particular store's intentions. Well, folks, big numbers means a refusal to return items.

I tried to work with the individual behind the register to just return the product, and put the money back on the card that I used to buy it. Well, I used one of the mobile payment apps, and they were unable to figure it out. Their systems are clearly antiquated - but good customer service could have easily worked around that. Nope. They made a scene, got corporate involved, and said that although they processed the refund, we may not get our money. Not quite sure what to make of that. So, I called our credit card company to dispute the charge. I'll send documentation that the store provided to prove I gave the product back. Another purchase I should have just made online. Sigh.

I cannot say enough kind words to express how genuinely wonderful my experience here was. New to…read moretown, I was looking to furnish my apartment with some antiques (better than IKEA, not as expensive as CB). I found myself at Past Prezence a few weeks ago, and I'm surprised I ever left! Past Prezence, run by Gina and Herb, is a true haven of wonderfully eclectic home furnishings, purses and articles of clothing. Each item has a rich story in its past, which I'm sure Gina and Herb will tell you about if you ask. Aside from the antiques, Gina and Herb also sell (and make!) original coffee tables from unexpected materials. Brimming with creativity and stocked with the right tools, Gina and Herb make custom pieces, too. I can claim, with absolutely no hyperbole, that Gina and Herb are artists. And, at that, some of the kindest, most interesting and inspiring people I have ever met. Visiting Past Prezence, from a completely selfish perspective, got me so much more than I bargained for: an artful coffee table, a beautiful mirror, a mellowed dresser, and a few of Gina's vintage purses (that already lived a memorable life, but are in great shape to live again)! Find yourself tired of mass-produced, low-quality furniture, purses and people? Visit Past Prezence for quality furnishings at great prices, interesting conversation and a little bit of inspiration. You will not be disappointed. And lastly, an important note on location-- it is in an industrial park (Building 5, I believe?) and is listed under "Sensation Wear" (for now) on the sign near the fire department. Follow your GPS, and when you get on the right road, take a "right" right after the fire department (you'll see the sign on your left) and continue down the road. It will be the building on your left. It may be a little difficult to find, but if you're lost, give them a call and they'll kindly help you to the right place. To Gina and Herb-- If you're reading this, thank you thank you! Wonderful meeting you. Best of luck :)

Sad wallet and checking account? well....yes. I wouldn't call the pieces here overpriced, since everything is well-made, and I've gotten some great unique items. I've also seen the petite-cut Seven jeans, and a couple other high-end department store pieces at competitive prices. And walking into any Anthropologie is like stepping into a retro-cool beach vacation house or something. It's always so calming, the decor is filled with cool apartment decorations and bath gels, and I always pull a handful of gorgeous dresses off the rack to try on. The staff at this particular location always seems friendly and knowledgeable and there's a kickass 3-way mirror in the dressing room.

But I would just like to comment on its customer service. It basically sucks. Anytime I've called, I never get the friendly, resolving response. They put customers on hold, that leads to automatically disconnected lines. Poof. Gone. U call back, repeat. When you finally get someone on the line, they are rude, and too lazy to help. Yes, all of this happened to me today...w three different associates. Just lazy people who do not want to help. Utterly frustrating and disappointing when you need help.
