Nice collection of varied goods for discount. Store aisles are walkable, though interior seems narrow, but in a good way.

I've been in India Market, excellent people. FamilyDollar bad experience. Before, I made a judgement call. I wanted to be sure in what I was feeling. I have no need to steal from Family Dollar. This owner would get up from his chair and follow me around this store on several occasions. I've watched him deal with those that are not black skinned be treated with respect and to walk freely in a store. But for some reason I'm not given the same freedom. To the point I have to ask him why he follows me in his store. He told me he can do whatever he wants to do in his store. He is right about that. I can chose where I will spend my money. And it will not be Family Dollar. Instead of following me around. Clean up your store, removed the clothing and trash along the aisles. Cover up the the rat traps you have exposed through out the aisles. Clean and organize your store front window which is a dumping ground for your garbage trash. It smells bad, the product in your refrigerator needs to be thrown out. Bacon should be red, not grey. The list goes on. You stand so proudly to be able to follow a black woman in your store. But you have no shame in how you Present your store to the community and the customers. Sir, trust me when I say this. Why would I steal from you?

Today half of the store was sectioned off and unavailable, limiting their stock to less than half of what they have. Signs say that this is due to "reorganization", but employees have no information as to when it will be opened up and shoppers can only look at half of the store across barricaded pathways. I've never been at a store that can't manage inventory reorganization during off hours, especially given the amount of store closures this location has due to staff meetings (which I've also never seen a retail store be closed for). It's super frustrating that the store can't get their act together. Every "improvement" comes at the cost of customer convenience. It's honestly like the owner has never worked in a retail environment before. I keep trying to find things to like about this store, as it used to be one of my absolute favorites. Needless to say, they're making it incredibly hard to find reasons to come here. Side note: the staff are the only redeeming aspect of the store.

The store was organized and clean there was an older women employee stocking the shelves by candy and very pleasant but what struck me most was a male employee at the register 4 who seems to be abit aggressive and noticed a couple of customers that were not very professionally or properly handled in a business manner and this male middle aged person did not act in the stores best interests! This unfortunate action will definitely affect my returning and I can honestly say those other women will not return. His mannerisms were not warranted by making hand gestured motions rotating his hands as to say you are crazy. Outside the store those women were visibly upset and in disbelief that this male employee would treat women or any customers that way! Not my intention to tell this store Manager how to proceed but security cameras will tell the tale! I know I won't return snd I can say without hesitation that those other women will not also. Human Resources should act swiftly to further stop future unnecessary visual confrontation with its paying customers Unacceptable as this is, no employee should gesture a customer is crazy when the employee was at fault and did not do his job! I am a fair and proper reviewer and I don't relish the fact in leaving a less than favorable review! I hope that those women contact someone in corporate and tell their account of their shopping dilemma! If more customers speak up, businesses will see an increase in Sales! And weak out those employees that just want a pay check!

What I don't really like is when store's use the word "dollar" in their name, but DON'T sell everything in the store for one dollar or less. For instance, "Family Dollar" (which, ironically, is RIGHT next door to this store) doesn't sell everything for a dollar, and previous stores I used to go to (Dollar Plus in Dedham, Dollar Plus in Walpole, both of which have closed). Anyway, this store isn't a dollar store, but thankfully didn't call themselves it. I had to do a double-take to realize the actual name of the store. It's really called "Super Discount Store". In the past, driving by, and until today I thought it said "Super Dollar Store". Anyway, this store is great. It has some of the best discounts around and a great stock of everything. I have one major complaint. The smell of the store. When walking into anywhere, it should smell great, or at least passable. I didn't notice if they sold any air fresheners, but if they do they should spray some around, and if not, management should walk next door to Family Dollar and buy one for the store, the Febreze "spring" edition would be nice. Anyhow, this stores best variety is clothing. They have good clothing at reasonable prices, and an extra large selection of "Boston" wear, and summer sandals. Other than that, all of the departments are mostly pretty good. The storage and container department was a bit overpriced, but other than that, everything from medical to toys to office supplies was all priced well and had a good, decent inventory. The lady working was friendly, kind, seemed to be working hard to keep the store clean (good employee!). Overall, this is a good discount store that I will be coming back to and purchasing more from. 4 stars.
