Specialties
Welcome to Want It Framed. This is a mobile custom picture framing service. What does that mean? I come to your home or office, together we sit down and design a suitable framing package for the item you are wanting framed, I take that item back to the shop with me, I do the custom framing at my shop, and I deliver the finished product back to the location of your choice and hang it at no additional expense.
No additional expense means there is no charge for the pick up, delivery, or hanging the item you've just had framed.
My services are used by both homeowners and businesses of all sizes. For businesses, we can prepare multiple pieces for your office spaces or we can be reached to hang pieces you already own.
So please, give us a call.
History
Established in 2000.
This business began as Signature Lenses. The business primarily sold the artistic endeavors of the owner. The business made the name change to South of Soho Fine Art when I had the idea of promoting other artists. Finally, I became Want It Framed/ South of Soho Fine Art and Custom Picture Framing when the decision was made to, not only build my own framing needs, but to offer the services to other artists, photographers, and new clients from the retail and corporate market.
I try to have my artistic moments, but picture framing has now grown to become the primary focus of this business. South of Soho has also been a sub-contractor for another local framing business, constructing 90% of the frame orders, for over four years now. My art is to properly frame yours.
Meet the Business Owner: Bob S.
I prepared a business plan for a management class assignment years ago. It proposed that my abilities as an Optician could be used outside of the typical office setting by creating a mobile service. Fittings could be done in the homes of those incapable of easy mobility, in businesses willing to offer a new benefit to employees, or to the busy executives unable to find the time in their schedules.
As an artist, one slow day in the optical lab, I began scratching images onto the surface of old spectacle lens blanks. I was using a picture framer for my other art but these pieces would need specialized framing to be exhibited properly and paying someone else to frame them correctly would be too expensive. So I started producing my own frames. Artists and art buyers asked for the name of my picture framer and I was happy to tell them it was me.
Am I a mobile Optician? No. It's the same plan but with different frames. It's picture framing done well in the comfort of your home or office.
