Why has it taken me so long to find this magical spot of quiltiness? I've discovered many new fabric stores in my recent time here in RVA, but no store really checked all the boxes before I walked into Quilter's Corner. Located in Midlothian, it is definitely worth the drive from wherever you are. Upon entering, you are drawn into the shop like a kid in a Hogsmeade candy store. Everywhere you look there are amazing examples of potential projects, and a wide variety of fabrics to choose from. The shop is so well organized that it makes exploration easy, if not a little expensive (Yes, before you ask, I needed that fabric - For what, you ask? Not sure yet, but I needed it!!). The staff here is amazing. Open and friendly, I never got the feeling that I was being a bother, or that I needed to rush to get all of my questions answered. Long arm quilting services, a large variety of classes, and a well-lit classroom are some of the many services offered. The folks who work here seem to love quilting just as much as they love sharing that knowledge of making quilts with those that visit. I'm excited to sign up for a class... Why I had not heard of this place before now, I will never know. i have searched in the past for a really good sewing alternative to JoAnn Fabric (sorry JoAnn, I like you but at times I want a real quilting place!). I have a Brother sewing machine and asked if they could repair it...little did I know it was operator error (d'oh!) but they still did find some odd things that were not performing at 100%. Good price on repair and tune up! And...my goodness the gorgeous bolts of fabric!!! A wonderful array of very good quality quilting fabric that you could also use for sewing other things besides quilting, but also a really good assortment of notions/items to help with your quilting, quilting magazines, etc. It turns out they specialize in Brother sewing machines so I will always come here now. The staff are also so very nice! And I could bring my Chihuahua inside with me it looks like!! If I could teach her how to sew now that would be really good...anyway, I really recommend this place. So many good things here for those who sew!! Oh and the parking is really good...it's a private lot shared between small businesses! #shoplocal !! read more

Quilters Corner has a wide selection of high quality cottons. Their classes are very informative and a fabulous way to meet up with other quilters. This is a beautiful store with lots of great fabrics and ideas. Every time I go there, though, I leave feeling miffed and annoyed. The owner and staff are not very friendly and do not seem to want or care about my business. I only go there when I'm having trouble finding something but it is never a pleasant experience. read more

I am new to Virginia and was very excited to find this quilt shop. Friendly and knowledgeable staff (someone greets you are soon as you enter) as well as the shop is filled with a great selection of quality fabric, patterns and gadgets. This is a very dangerous combination for me! Interesting selection of classes and programs that help get you engaged in finishing up your UFO's or undertaking something more challenging. No matter if you are a long time quilter or new to the hobby, this shop is a must see. read more

I agree with Emmy A., the staff could be more friendly. I always feel like I am not part of the clique. I have had a salesperson leave the register and go fold fabric while I was in line. She had just served a "member of the clique." I like their fabrics but have been reluctant to join sewing time or classes due to not feeling welcome. read more

i can't say enough about Quilters Corner,s exceptional customer service. We came in because we had a problem on our new software we bought and they helped us through it and taught us how to use it. We bought a machine from them and they made sure we signed up for the free class so we could use and enjoy our new machine. They moved to a new space and it's awesome! Their fabrics are beautiful and their classroom space is huge! I love this store!! I live about 45 minutes away but it's worth the drive. I bought an item from the owner at Quilters Corner for $80. My husband shocked at the price, finds it somewhere else for $43 & we decide to return it. When I brought it back, 5 days later, unopened, with my receipt, the owner would not issue me a refund. She gave me a store credit, but I didn't need anything from her store other than this machine part. We called her back, nicely trying to reach a middle ground on the $40 difference in price. She would not budge on the price, she would not agree to charge us a restocking fee. She was not willing to price match or even meet us in the middle on price. We then went to the store & asked to see her return policy posted. (from what we understand under VA law it must be visible to the customer) She fumbled around and could not find it herself saying it must have gotten moved, they had been cleaning up. She could not produce it herself. We showed her a print out of the VA law stating that it had to be clearly & predominantly visible. She said she knew the law. We left unhappy customers and have filed a complaint with the BBB. read more
