I went in to get a color match of some felt fabric, and someone greeted us upon entrance and then pointed us to the exact direction of what I needed. It was a successful trip and I was in & out in no time. If you have any project that requires fabric, I highly recommend coming here! I have spent thousands of dollars at fabric hut, as I refurbish furniture. Today, Saturday September 13, 2025, I was there to purchase 22 yards of fabric for a sofa. My first choice was a golden velvet. The store manager, Avery, set it on the machine to measure it. As it was running, I noticed this bolt had flaws that looked like "wrinkles" I rubbed them and they would not come out, plus this bolt only had 19 yards-I needed 22, so I passed. I sensed he was annoyed. He proceeded to tell me only he and one other woman working today knew how to run the fabric yardage machine, they were very busy and they were 2 employees short...I then stated well, at least you have job security with being so busy..... Avery then shrugged and mumbled something I couldn't hear. I chalked his attitude towards being short handed. I kept looking trying to find a fabric I liked and had enough yardage. I found one and carried the extremely heavy bolt to the table myself, since they were very busy (20% off sale today, so I definitely was going to purchase) I was standing at the table waiting my turn, when a young female employee asked if she could help me. I stated I needed 22 yards of fabric from the bolt I carried to the table. Avery, who was hand cutting another customers fabric interjected, and stated something to this effect: Are you sure you want it this time?!? We don't have time to just roll it out for you! I was taken a back, embarrassed, and defensively stated, "It was not my fault that the other roll had permanent wrinkles down the center of the roll" He then stated, I was just saying, you are going to have to wait, since we are so busy. His first comment was not telling I would have to wait. It was telling me I wasted his time on the first roll and I better not do it again. It also told me he is not happy with his job and did not want to do his job- help people buy fabric. I never gave any indication that I was in a hurry, as I was there shopping from 10-noon.... I was embarrassed and turned off from purchasing. I usually deal with Randy, who is fabulous- I wish this had been the Saturday he was working so I would not have had such a terrible customer service experience with the store manager, Avery. read more

I am a quilter, living in Laughlin, NV. Wish I could visit this store; but DE is a bit far and much too cold for me. I will have to settle ordering through their website. While visiting I came across this Gem of a store. The store has a variety to fabrics when I tell you that you need to spend at least a good 1:30 I'm not kidding. The prices are amazing coming from New York fabric shopping I rather drive here than NY the quality and prices are better and the staff was super helpful. Each and every employee here greeted me it was amazing!! I can't wait to come back again. So if your in the area make sure you stop in you won't regret the great prices and friendly staff. read more

Dropped in while traveling the area. The store is large and ready to find but the majority of the cloth seemed like it was very old. The store smells musty/moist and there is no actual logic to how most items were arranged. The quilting cotton was the exception as it was clearly organized and displayed. The pricing for most things were good but I prefer not to risk getting fabric with rot so I didn't purchase. If you're a fan of Robert Kaufman cottons they had a decent selection on hand. read more

I ordered cotton batting for over 50.00 dollars from this place it's been one month and still have not received a refund from them . I've contacted them about where the product was. Then I contacted them about a full refund . They said I had to wait for the usps to respond in 3 to 5 days and I still have no product and no refund. Seems like their more quick about depositing your money than actually making sure you get your product. Still waiting! Would not recommend this place for online shopping. Make sure you have the product in your Hand before handing your money over.it looked like a trust worthy place but looks are deceiving. read more

I came across this store on accident and now it is my go too for fabric! I decided I was going to learn how to sew recently and immediately jammed my sewing machine as soon as I tried to use it. I brought it into the fabric hut, and Mr. Wayne greeted me with open arms. He was able to help me fix the jam and even give me extra tips and show me how to better use it. He was so patient and understanding! I am so thankful he was able to help me and I can't wait to show off my projects! Thank you Mr.Wayne!! read more

Let me start off by saying, I had no idea what I was doing, but I went with someone who was making me something and had a better understanding where to start. This place has a lot of options, and I'm glad I went with someone to help; however, the staff there are also very friendly and helpful. Mask are required, staff wore them as well. The building appears to be a little older so it had an older smell, but it wasn't too bothersome for me, I mostly smelled my breath breathing in the mask. Everything is in sections which is nice if your looking for particulars like bridal or upholstery. read more

Nice selection of fabric. However the practice of looking a customer's name up at the register was embarrassing and weird. The cashier looked up my name and asked if I was from Texas because there was a problem with someone from that state with the same name as me. She had a paper list that she looked on before even ringing up my items. I was not writing a paper check. People don't return when you treat them like criminals. read more

I'll finish my review soon, one sales associate in particular is rude as heck and I'm disappointed I have spent my hard earned money on a sewing machine here. I wanted to like this place but three times she was rude AF to me. Maybe be a little nicer to millennials since we know how to leave reviews. Don't know who was more rude- employees or customers. Customer asked fabric cutter if she was cutting fabric and she said there are two fabric cutter all cut circus in a very rude tone, so I proceeded to go to the second table where a customer informed after that lady with 10 bolts of fabric to be cut, she was next with 20 and I would be waiting a long time so I took my $100 out the front door. Just as pretty fabric at other stores where there are ample employees that want to help paying customers. read more

I bought the same elastic they are charging $249.00 for at another location for $32.50! This is a horrible time for the entire country! You should give a discount ....not a hike like that! I really like this place, it's got a great selection of many different kinds of fabrics. I found some hard to find fabric there that I've been trying to find for months online (many samples mailed) and the fabric I needed was here in Norfolk where I live. Friendly store with lots of selection. I came here looking for straps for my wedding dress and they had a whole bridal selection. The sales associate was very helpful and provided me direction and lots of options. She even helped provide suggestions for the form and design of the dress. This is an amazing fabric store. Even though I live across the country I come here whenever in the Norfolk area. Shilo was so helpful to me as a new quilter. Randy assured me that mailing my fabric would not be a problem. They have a wonderful selection of fabrics. They also have a robust presence on eBay and amazon for go cutting templates. I found that put when I was shopping from home. Even though they are a local fabric store they really are the cats meow on terms of selection. Top notch quilt and sewing fabrics. We went to a couple of the chain sorters ( Joanne's and Hancock's) Mae had to wait in the checkout line to actually get help then they staff really wasn't helpful and knew their products when we went to Fabric Hut we immediately had a staff member that knew their product and helping us find what we were looking for !!
