VA Goods is located in Selden Market, the incubator space mall in Downtown Norfolk, and it offers exactly that, goods made in VA. You can find anything to food products, jewelry and even glass blown items that is made my the owner herself, who is a glass blowing artist, among many things. - Parking - There is street parking available, as well as, the parking garages nearby. The one I like to park at when going to Selden Market is the Hilton Main parking garage as it is attached to Selden Market. If you get off on level P1, it will lead you directly inside Selden Market. What I found: I was specifically looking for VA-themed stickers and thankfully I found one that is in the shape of the state, with mountains on it with VA printed on it. I also found some VA is for lovers rubber keychains and VA peanuts! I got some chocolate covered and some Old Bay flavored. Mmm, maybe my friend will let me taste them once I give it to her LOL. You know how it is, just before going on a trip....so many things to do, so little time. I was so grateful this was a quick and fruitful trip! I got most of everything I needed and I was out within 15 minutes! Pro tip: At the time of this writing, they are offering a check-in offer on Yelp of 20% off your first purchase! The new location is nestled next to Running, Etc and across the street from Blair Middle School. It boasts ample street parking with a convenient side parking lot for customers as well. A beautiful store-front window is always displayed to perfection bringing window shopping to life during your stroll down Colley Avenue. A charming sidewalk chalkboard sign greets you before you even enter the store. The handiwork on the sign is done by a local artist which speaks to the nature of Texture. As you enter the shop, you will find it proudly supports local artists of Coastal Virginia from Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and more. I'm always impressed by the jewelry, hand designed greeting cards, pottery, and accessories that the owner finds for the store. She or any other "Texurette" will happily tell you about the origins of any item. The ladies who work in the shop (Texurettes, as they are fondly called) are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something particular. They offer complimentary gift wrapping in adorable gift bags tied with ribbon. Every time I give a gift in a Texture bag the recipients eyes light up! You will find a price range for every wallet. I have bought $2 hand soaps, hilarious dishes towels for $10 as well as beautiful jewelry in the higher price range. Texture is one of those local shops who truly supports local as well. There is a wide selection of anything mermaids in this store as well. I searched online and Etsy for similar mermaids and they do not exist. I found this service and product is very much worth the value to create your own piece of art and souvenir unique to Norfolk. You can also bring your own wine, have a date night or ladies night here. They did have someone right at the front who was responsible for cleaning carts, which was appreciated. We were on the hunt for a larger piece of furniture. Didn't find what we were looking for, but they have a lot of different styles in chairs, desks, tables etc. I would caution that, if you do find something you like, check it thoroughly before purchasing. Many items seemed to have dents and dings from being on the floor with carts pushing past. This is definitely a spot you might find a treasure, especially in the clearance sections, but it will take some time and effort to find.
