I've come to corporate museum and frame twice now. Both times to frame multiple pieces. In both…read moreinstances the date that was communicated as when it would be due by occurred well before the pieces were actually ready. This would have been fine had there been any communication whatsoever regarding the delay. Rather I've wasted my time trying to track them down for an update by calling and stopping by the store. Most recently, when I was able to pick up the final piece (three weeks after the promised date) the piece was twice as large as the frame that we agreed upon. We spent over an hour with Joseph selecting a frame and outlining the exact size and style that we preferred. The work was just taped in the middle of an oversized frame without any matting. While they do nice work typically and have a variety of styles the exorbitant cost, lack of communication and poor follow through on well discussed plans are not worth the hassle. Update: They replaced the product and did so in a timely manner after this review was made. They apologized and were contrite and cordial in subsequent communications. It is upsetting that it took making mistakes to be given the care that was promised at the start. But overall, taking accountability helps re-earn my trust and respect.

A couple of years ago I inquired of this shop about framing six neckties and a signed letter. His…read moreshop came recommended by a few folks that I checked with. The ties were owned and worn by Rush Limbaugh and the signed letter was from was his wife. I was contacted by the owner who refused to "touch" the project. While letting me know he had framed hundreds of artifacts from past presidents and otherwise important historical objects for museums, he told me he would not want to physically touch these items because of who owned them. He did offer to "consult" on the design of the piece but otherwise refused service. The tone of the email was polite. The outcome and decision was disappointing, to be refused service because of a radio show host and by extension my own political beliefs. I would have gladly used a business whose owner(s) may not necessarily agree with my political beliefs, but that was not a two-way street. I guess I could have handled this like those demanding a wedding cake be made by someone that doesn't want to do it, or protesting a photographer not wanting to take pictures at certain events, etc., but I instead just moved on as there are plenty of other framing shops. It is a shame that those that tout "tolerance" and "inclusiveness" the loudest so often turn around and refuse to do business over political beliefs.
