She took down my info, gave me a fare, and an ETA for the driver. She gave me an ETA of 20-30 mins, which wasn't accurate because the driver still had a fare onboard. It turned out to be more like 45-60 mins before the driver arrived. So allow extra time for the driver to pick you up. The driver did call me when he was enroute. He arrived in a super clean Prius, and apologized for being late. He used a direct route to where I was going, and there wasn't much delays. I would use this cab service again.

Attempting to strike up a conversation, I asked him where he was from. He told me was from Bhutan, and having never been there, I basically thew a suitcase full of questions at him. We talked the whole way to the airport only pausing for an occasional breath. He taught me about the "One Nation, One People" policy implemented in Bhutan and its hidden agenda of secret ethnic persecution. Sadly, he was a victim of their ethic persecution and escaped from Bhutan in 2000. I also learned about his family, goals, and even his dreams. My taxi ride was a surreal visit through history, led by a driver who possesses an abundance of knowledge and genuine friendliness. Though all of Alameda Taxi's drivers are extremely nice and professional, when I am craving some time away, I will be calling on Dick C. for another history lesson and relaxing ride to the good ole' OAK.

Traffic was slow and she would have missed our international flight if she made a round trip to Lafayette to get the new one. I immediately called Asad and asked how quickly he could send a driver to pick up the passport from a neighbor who had access to my friend's apartment. He found a driver within 5 minutes. That driver delivered the passport to SFO with 15 minutes to spare before the window to check bags closed. Lamorinda Taxi literally saved our vacation. Wish I could give the company 10 stars.
