~ Not bad on some items ~ Wang's Kitchen makes fantastic Steamed Dumplings and Pork Fried Rice. They are very tasty indeed. The fried rice is as good as you'll find anywhere. The Szechuan Beef - not so good. The sauce has a funky unfamiliarity that didn't please me at all. The beef slices were full of fat and a little grody. I've had the Szechuan Pork here before too and got the same quality of meat. The sauce was a little better for the pork though. Still, it was very sweet, not something I like particularly, but that seems to be the trend these days. My Fiance had the General Tso's Chicken, for which she always makes the request "Extra Hot". They have never put up a fuss about it and She loves it. That's the only reason we still order from Wang's - Dumplings and General Tso's Chicken. They are very fast. I picked up my order in about 10 minutes. Deliveries take a bit longer - but this place is REALLY busy. So, even though I don't like it that much, they are very popular and are doing a great business. read more

This place was shocking. I would have given it a 5 star but I have had better Chinese takeout in my life...but honestly, I can't remember when or from where. Yelp must not have been around back then to keep track. This place is not a fine dining establishment and I've never dined in as it's just your average unassuming chinese joint. That being said, we ordered from them one night expecting your typical average - below average experience but were pleasantly surprised. As everyone has said, the General Tsos is quite good but nothing incredible. From there, things only got better. Their egg rolls are perfectly done and crispy. The crab rangoons were outstanding. But the real show stopper to me were the Chicken Teriyaki sticks. These things transported me to a street vendor in Shanghai with every bite. Sweet, salty, smokey. These things were juicy inside and crispy and delicious outside. Order them and thank me later. Oh, one last thing the beef and broccoli was mediocre at best. It's literally my only delivery option, so I take it! But all the chicken dishes kind of taste the same. I'm not a fan of the big chunks of onion in the fried rice. But the wonton soup, I order a large because it is that tasty!! The chicken lo mein is also very yummy. And delivery tells you 45 minutes but most of the time it's 15-20. read more

I just moved to Carrick from Dormont and I was looking for a GREAT place for Chinese food that delivered. I used to order Amazing Wok and was so sad to be leaving that area! I ordered Wang's on a Friday night well home alone while my husband was at work. I got a dinner (Tsos) and Rangoons for $12! Portions were big and food was EXCELLENT! They also quoted me at 40 minutes, and arrived in 25! The Rangoons were BY FAR the best I've EVER had! I think the kicker that made this place amazing for me is that I called on a Sunday night at 9:35 and asked when they stopped delivering. They told me 10:00 but were more than happy to deliver at that time! For that, I will forever be a failthful customer! Amazing service! read more

We had delivery from here: Chicken Lo Mein and General Tso's. As others have said, it's your standard Chinese cuisine, but it was delivered hot. Not warm, but hot. The egg roll was perfect and crunchy. The Lo Mein was a little on the bland side with very little beside noodles and chicken, and so we'll ask for more veggies next time. The General Tso's sauce tasted closer to a Sweet & Sour sauce than a sweet, slightly spicy sauce, which is likely my preference and restaurant recipe differences. The chicken breading was thick and soggy, but they were kind enough to accommodate my request for all white-meat chicken. Portion size was standard, and delivery was quick (under 20 minutes). Price was typical as well. So, if you're looking for basic, quick cuisine, you'll find it in this place. read more

Idk if it's because I just moved back to Pittsburgh over the summer & Chinese there is over abundant & amazing, but I think this place is sub par at best. The food is tolerable; the egg foo yung is great[ly tolerable], but anything fried (like fried rice, not egg rolls our Rangoon) always has a burnt/cigarette-type taste. I ordered lo mein and it had that same disappointing burnt taste. I have learned what to stay away from, so I will continue to order from Wang's, but I'm terrified to try anything new, so I more than likely won't. I always get delivery and they are always pretty prompt. The delivery guy is always very nice. The good service also will keep my service..all in all, I guess you can't go wrong. We're new in the area and came to Yelp to find a good Chinese restaurant. Wangs was well reviewed so we thought, why not? We go to the restaurant take one look around and order to go. Not exactly a place you'd want to sit down and be served, let alone eat, but we weren't discouraged so we ordered. I ordered one of the house specials, Happy Family. Ingredients listed crab, lobster, scallops and chicken. Disappointing at the least. The crab wasn't crab, it was imitation. Lobster wasn't lobster but I think it may have been crayfish and there were no scallops...nope, not one. My wife ordered a simple chicken dish which sat in our refrigerator for a week before it was tossed. The fortune cookie was pretty good but we can get those elsewhere. Not impressed. read more

Wang's is great for Chinese take-out. Not special inside, if your thinking of eating in.. florescent lights overhead seem to warp space and time, amid their collection of Chinese artifacts. But Dang the food is amazing, get an egg roll no matter what. The prices are fair market value for Chinese take-out. I've had a handful of different dishes and all have been very impressive. If your nearby and looking for Chinese, give them a call, and get yourself ready for a mouthful of Wang's! read more

Very reliable for prompt delivery and accuracy. The food is essentially the same as any other chinese take-out placein the city. However, it is consistently prepared correctly and arrives hot. Fried foods such as egg rolls arrive hot and crispy, which is hard to find with delivery. They will accomodate special requests such as extra spicy, no mushrooms, etc. My personal favorites are the hot and sour soup, General Tso's chicken, and vegetable Mai Fun. I've been ordering from here once or twice a month for several years and not had any bad experiences. Basic chinese takeout fare; but they do a great job in the kitchen and in regards to service. 4 stars because there is nothing unique or especially spectacular on the menu. read more

Not a fan of this place. I stopped in for lunch and got Szechuan chicken. As a person who comes from Brooklyn, New York which has a huge Chinese population (and many Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants along Avenue U and the East Teens, I've become accustomed to a non-sweet Chinese cuisine. Pittsburgh, however, especially as you get further away from the Chinese restaurants of Squirrel Hill which cater to many Chinese mainland CMU students, seems to love "sweet and preferably sweeter". Sure enough, the Szechuan chicken was far, far sweeter than I prefer. I also got hot and sour soup (my favorite) which had a lot of good stuff in it but was, unfortunately, pretty much tasteless. I won't be back. I will, however, return to another Chinese place nearby on Brownsville Road in Carrick. Number One Kitchen was it? I rather liked that lunch special. But was it good by accident or is it consistently good? I hope it's the latter. read more

Always happy with our meals! It's your typical American delivery cheap Chinese but it far outranks any other delivery I've had in the area. I especially like their crab Rangoon (loaded with cream cheese so don't expect crab filled ones like you'd get in Baltimore). Food is never super greasy. Fried rice is just rice, onions, and meat/shrimp so not packed with veggies (for me it's perfect with just rice and chicken- I don't like raw onion). Husband likes to try something different most of the time and has never been disappointed but his comfort go-to is the Singapore Mai fun. Service is always super quick- they say 45 min but are always here in under 20. Love this place! read more

Perfect place for fast and delicious Chinese food. The new location is in a much better place and has some seating as well. I had the general tso's shrimp for the first time and it was delicious. The portions are big so it's perfect for having leftovers for lunch the next day. read more

The food is mediocre at best, and the customer service is poor. My husband and I have ordered from this place a few times now. I have been disappointed each time. The first time I ordered General Tso's tofu, but it turned out to be a gross, soggy, breaded tofu smothered in General Tso's sauce. For our second experience with this restaurant, my husband ordered Mongolian Beef, but they gave him chicken instead. The third time I ordered from them I got lectured about not telling them I had a coupon when I placed my order. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again... I'll drive a bit further to find another Chinese restaurant if it means I can have better food and customer service. read more
