This was my first time eating here. When we walked in, no one greeted us, and we were left standing there trying to figure out whether it was self-seating or if we needed to wait to be seated. There weren't any signs to guide us, which made the start of the experience a little awkward. After we sat down, they brought out a meat dish with sides right away (a seasoned salad with jalapeños and onions). The sides were flavorful and enjoyable, but the meat itself wasn't seasoned -- it tasted very plain. It wasn't bad, just a bit boring compared to the sides. I personally would have preferred more seasoning. The biggest concern was the grills. Several of them were noticeably slanted, causing oil from the meat to spill out. That feels like a safety hazard and something that should definitely be fixed. Another downside was that tables didn't seem to get cleaned until new customers were waiting, and the payment process was confusing. It's not like a typical restaurant where a server brings the check -- we had to figure out on our own where to go to pay. Overall, once we were seated, the staff did check in and were attentive. With better organization, clearer signage, and some safety improvements, the experience could be much better.

If you're looking for affordable, flavorful Korean BBQ with top-notch service, Wangdoyaji is the spot! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and made sure our table was taken care of the entire night. The servers were attentive, quick to refill side dishes, and happily explained the menu. The meat quality was excellent--fresh, tender, and seasoned just right. I really love the brisket and pork belly; every bite was packed with flavor. I also love the shoestring cut onions and jalapeños provided automatically. Our server was generous and constantly replenishing our orders, making the meal feel like a true feast. The atmosphere is comfortable, perfect for family dinners, casual hangouts, or celebrating with friends. For the price, quality, and service, Wangdoyaji is honestly one of the best KBBQ places around. Highly recommend if you want great taste and value all in one place!

This is my go to spot when I wanna stay local because they're open late. Their salad is amazing. All I get is brisket only , i grilled onions, and jalapeños. And wow the Brisket sauce OmG goodness Just wish they would attend to water refills overall is A good spot and good service and sports on TV

Restaurant picture At the moment we arrived (11:30pm)

This used to be my favorite Korean bbq spot for years. Yesterday since I was in the area with my gf we decided to go and we arrived at 11:30pm (They close at 1am) and the moment we went inside we were ignored then a worker came and told us that we only had 20 minutes to dine in , meaning it would be 10 minutes til 12am , but they close at 1am ? I dont recommend this place at all. The service sucks the worker with the hat on the side is rude as well . Save your time and money and go to another Korean bbq

Honestly, the only reason why I can see this business staying open is because of how cheap the prices are and how late they stay open. With minimal options you can get all you can eat for $22.99 or $26.99, I mean you can't really go wrong with cheap eats and for a lot of food. But the quality of the food and the cuts of the meat, to me are definitely subpar. I mean I guess it is local, to the San Fernando valley and don't need to drive far. The service was honestly not the best either. I honestly don't like the fact that they don't tell you that one of their sauces is a peanut sauce and they don't care about cross contamination especially with people who have severe allergies to nuts. The ambiance of the place gives off a hole in the wall and nothing too crazy about it. Overall, people go here because it's a cheap all you can eat restaurant. I highly don't recommend going here if you have a nut allergy

Wonderful service and delicious food.

The chicken shawarma was perfectly juicy, tender, nicely marinated and was accompanied by their special sause along with cucumbers. tomatoes and some herbs. The sauce didn't overpower the fresh amazing flavors of the other ingredients and you could truly taste the chicken and the veggies. All of that goodness was wrapped in a grilled but super soft lavash bread. Being so thin and soft, the lavash bread still maintained its composure, didn't fall apart and each bite was a treat. Absolutely amazing. The customer service was very friendly and the gentleman explained to me that they are redoing the inside seating and that there would be many tables inside. For today, I ate right outside at a table, close to their mesquite grill, where probably all the magic happens. Can't wait to come back to this place to try some of their other meat bbq items. Bravo on the chicken shawarma wrap!

The interior decor is a bit outdated, and it's a bit cramped. I cannot for the life of me fathom what would cause it, but there is a distinct odor from the place itself. It doesn't prevent me from enjoying my meal, but it is pretty strong. Also, the unfortunate location of the place which is near a 7-Eleven and near a major crossing street, just made the experience a bit unnerving. You see homeless folks (or unhoused, if you want to be politically correct) lounging around, and you're left to wonder when the next riot or zombie outbreak will happen. Otherwise, the food is great, it felt like home and pretty delicious. It was packed with flavor, albeit the price is a bit steep. I have no other issue with the place, I think it deserves its fair share.

I was a slight bit off but not sick. I did want something light so the order went as follows: Pickled veggies, hummus, Armenian salad, moutabel. My daughter had chicken and beef plate with hummus and yogurt cucumber. She received pita too. My hubby got oven roasted pork ribs, and a bowl of lentil soup. First - the food was all amazing! Fresh. The serving dishes were nice and different making the meal so attractive. We all shared bites of each others food and enjoyed knowing that the next we come we know again what we want. Service was lovely and we met George and his family, who were so very nice and welcoming. To have dinner at a family establishment is heart felt and nostalgic, because I grew up in a restaurant environment. George's mother in law came over to us and gave us fresh made cookie biscuits to try as dessert. We couldn't stop thanking them for the entire dining experience. It's a mom and pop shop. A hole in the wall. Some of the best places, you all know, are small. I liked this place a lot. And I'm planning on going there again soon. :) thank you George and family for delicious food and making us feel like family.

The jambalaya and gumbo were the best items I ordered today (11/11). I will definitely order these again. They were the best I ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned with high-quality meats, and very good. It's the best I've ever tasted. I've only had commercialized gumbo and jambalaya at chain restaurants. I didn't order any grilled meats. I anticipate the grilled meats being tasty because I tasted some of the meat in my gumbo and jambalaya at it was good and cooked to perfection. The sides were disappointing and I will not order again: Mac and Cheese: A little dry. Too much salt, too much unmelted cheese. Lacked a creamy inside. The bottom and top were just globs of unmelted cheese. Will not order again. Collard Greens: Tasted bland as if from a can. Mixed with spinach and mainly tasted like spinach. Will not order again. I added the greens to my gumbo so I didn't waste them. Let's be clear, the greens weren't horrible. I grew up picking and eating freshly picked collards so I have high standards for greens. Red Beans & Rice: Beans were cold and tasted like they were from a can. Not the Louisiana red beans and rice I was expecting at all. Rice was undercooked with a slight crunch. I added the rice to my gumbo when I reheated it on the stove. I will figure out what to do with the beans. Customer service was good. The lady was very attentive and went above and beyond to ensure every customer was taken care of. She even gave out peanut butter cookies while we waited. Bring your patience as this is a small-scale (lean) food-service establishment. I spent $30 for 2 half orders of gumbo and jambalaya ($10 each), and 3 sides. I probably could have saved a few dollars if I ordered a veggie plate. It was a little pricey for the portion sizes. I charge it to the gumbo and jambalaya which was $10 each and served in 8oz containers. I usually pay $8 for 12oz or 16oz of soup. On a positive note, I got to sample the menu. I know what I like and don't like. I don't expect to like every menu item at any restaurant. Bottomline, I will go again.
