One star would be too many. I got an appointment at the salon with one of the hairdressers. My appointment was at 1:30 pm. I came on time and was made to wait for about 50 minutes because hairdresser was on the phone. After that I was told that my hairdresser left. So, it's 2:30 basically, I can't be serviced, I'm loosing a day of my salary, and the salon owner (Kim) says she can't help me. I insisted on getting me a free service at another time to compensate for my lost salary day/time. The owner gave me a gift card with salon name on it, and service amount $250. Next day I am receiving threatening phone calls and texts from the hairdresser (who walked out on me) saying that she will not provide me with any service ever. I got in touch with the salon owner telling her that, and her response was again that there was nothing she can do for me. I asked for an ability to use that gift card and be serviced by another hairdresser or by the salon owner, to what I was told that that will not happen. I would strongly recommend to pass by this facility. OMG, customer service is on the level ZERO. read more

I have very thick and curly hair, it normally takes around 4-5 hours for stylists to do it ( which is very annoying ) but I came in today ( 5/ 14/ 20 ) and Debbie did it in 2 and a half hours I LOVE the way my hair turned out and loved Debbie's enthusiasm. I saw the bad review on here about Debbie and was very worried and anxious but once I got inside and started chatting with her I knew it had to be an off day or something absolutely crazy! Other stylists I have gone to normally just make it very awkward and you sit in silence... but not with Debbie, she told me what she was doing when she did it and just told me things about her life which resulted in random conversations. I have been a customer of Courtney Broom, one of the stylists, for over 15 years. She just moved to Wane recently, but has had a strong clientele since her graduation from Tony and Guy. She has an incredible command of her craft that is absolutely addicting. I can hardly let anyone else touch my hair now. I work out of state, but will put up with getting shaggy between appointments, just for the experience. Don't go see Oscar... unless you want to walk out of there wondering what the heck happened to your hair. I went to him for the first time thinking I was going to get a much needed "mommy makeover" after having just had two babies back to back. I was looking for a little pop of color to brighten my dark hair, but instead what I got was two skunk strips right at the front of my face, And I'm being generous calling them strips! What he really colored was the BRAND NEW HAIR GROWTH after having the baby. It literally turned those baby hairs into strands of straw. Sticking out like I had just put my finger in a light socket. I walked out of there feeling so defeated but after two hours i didn't have the time or courage to tell him I didn't like it. Turns out I couldn't stand it so I went back so he could fix the mistake and believe it or not I walked out of there again looking worse off than I did before. I go to Lars for my haircuts. I wouldn't call the prices inexpensive, but the experience with him and the results are well worth it. The place seems like everyone there enjoys everyone else. It makes for a positive experience. I highly recommend Wane Salon and Lars in particular. One particular note about Wane Salon regards the receptionist. Marilyn (don't know last name) is the best.She is efficient and really friendly. She goes to any length to make sure you as a client are taken care of. Any problem at the salon, take it to Marilyn. Since relocaing to Irving from North Texas I have not had good fortune finding a stylist that I felt comfortable with, until today. I was nervous and she put me right at ease. I have pretty thin plain hair that has always been hard to deal with, but Suzan Charles is amazing and I've been seeing her for years. She makes my hair look totally different and cuts it in a way that it looks fuller, and she's the only hairdresser I've ever had that can do it. She's amazing! I will also add after being a customer at Wane Salon for years I sit in the chair and watch the other stylists doing pretty amazing work on others. It really is a talented group over there, so if you are looking for a new stylist you can't really go wrong with any of them. Yes, as another reviewer points out it is a pretty low-key decor (but it's still nice, just not the SPA treatment) and it does SEEM expensive for the atmosphere, but I've gone to nicer places and paid the same amount and guess what - the cut is always disappointing and I end up back at Wane. If you're going to splurge on ONE THING it should be your hair. If you're looking for a great new style go to WANE SALON. read more

This truly is as good as it gets. As an East-Coast transplant, I was in serious need of some pampering and maintenance, and was unsure of whom to choose for cuts, color, a mani and a pedi. I didn't know anyone, but saw the great reviews for Wane, so I stopped in to book an appointment. It was a throw of the dice, since I'd never been here before, but.....holy cow, what a pleasant surprise! First, I booked with Wane's brand-new manicurist, Danielle, and had the BEST pedicure I have ever, ever had. She's fabulous--very skilled, very attentive; I was ready to melt in the chair. I felt so good and so relaxed when she was done with me, I could have curled up on the floor and gone to sleep. My manicure was terrific, too--my hands were soft, smooth, and in perfect shape when I left. Then came the cut and color with Tina. She's friendly, funny and highly skilled. She didn't rush me, and we spent a little time talking about the best way to handle my fine hair. I walked in with an out-of-shape, skunky, faded red (it was a long trip to Texas), and came out with a sunlit, soft strawberry blonde with just enough highlights to brighten my face. My husband came in after me when I was done, and could not take his eyes off the wonderful work Tina did on my hair. He's still talking about how much he loves it, and it's been almost a week now. Don't miss a chance to check out this salon; everyone is so friendly and cheerful. I found their prices extremely reasonable, especially considering what you'd pay back East. Understand only that each stylist is an independent contractor of sorts: they set their prices and their own accepted methods of payment. But I'd pay for this kind of service in pennies if that's what they wanted! As long as I'm in Texas, Danielle and Tina are stuck with me!!! read more

I've been going to this salon a few months since moving to the area. I was referred by a coworker. Nestled in a small strip mall, there's this little gem of a shop that provides great service at a fair price. I asked for someone who enjoyed cutting short hair and I was booked with Karen McKee. I should have found her years ago. She's precise in her work and she really listens to what you want. When you return each month, she asks what did or didn't work with the cut and she adjusts accordingly. They use great quality products (Bumble and Bumble is hard to find but they've got most of the line) and they don't pressure sell when you're done - I respect that. I'm moving away but I'll really miss Karen. Ask for her - you'll be glad you did. read more
