I went in for a balayage om my naturally dirty blonde hair. It took 5.5 hours for the stylist to dye my hair (without blowdry it). There are orange chemia marks and straught bleach lines ~1 inch from my scalp. The salon said it was my fault because I rushed the stylist (5.5 hours is rushing i guess). They would only refund 95$ of the 500$ charge because that is what they charge to dye roots. I mean..strictly speaking they are right they did not dye my roots. If only they had not dye my the rest of my hair creating a straight line an inch or two away from my scalp then id be in good shape. I regret getting my hair cut here. After a discussion around hair, a friend of mine recommended two stylists here. I was super excited as I have not found a hair cut/color go-to here in Dallas as of yet. I booked an appointment, arrived and was set to go. I had given several directions for how I wanted my hair to be cut. One of these directions was the length of how much hair to cut off (I said I would be happy with 1-2 inches off, no more). I chatted with the hair stylist and she said she would do exactly that. The first thing I realized was the time the hairstylist had spent cutting my hair - around 20-25 minutes, which I thought was different. Then I thought to myself, if the hair stylist cuts hair fast, then perhaps its not a big deal. When she showed me the mirror, my faced showed my displeasure. I hated the way it looked immediately and noticed that none of the directions I had told the hair stylist, that she had agreed upon were followed. I asked for layers, to which she stated that it would have looked "off" on my hair if she had done that. I realized at this point, she had promised me one thing, and delivered another. I have not had such a horrible haircut before. My hair looks butchered. I reached out to the salon manager to explain my experience, but she had my original hair stylist reach out to me. I explained my issue with her and she apologized for the miscommunication and offered to fix it, however I do not trust getting my hair cut from her again. My main issue: As a hairstylist, do not promise your client you can deliver them exactly what they are looking for if that is not what you intend to do. read more

I have really strong Asian hair that had already been balayaged previously - I've had numerous highlights and balayage appointments over recent years and have never felt like my hair was this unhealthy. I went to gold glam bar in hopes of lightening my balayage a little and my hair ended up being almost completely bleached and FRIED. I knew something was wrong when I was left with bleach under a heat lamp for 30+ mins as my stylist went to attend other clients. After washing my hair out in the bowl, I touched my hair and could feel pieces just falling out. I was so scared but decided that it would be ok. Fast forward a few months later, numerous olaplex appointments, and lathering my hair in coconut oil, I still have crunchy hair and a thin fringe as my hair has burned off especially near the front of my face. Not sure if it was because I went on a busy day or what, but if you care about the health of your hair, I wouldn't come here as they seem to overbook and over process. read more

I absolutley love this place! ASHLEY is literally the best. I came in for a consultation and she was so knowledgable and professional. She knew exactly how to attack my horrible looking hair. The following week I came in for a 9+hour color correction and she was so sweet, she walked me through the whole process during those 9 long hours. She was so attentive, and always asking If I felt comfortable or if I needed anything. She really grasped an understanding of what color and style I was looking for. At the end of the 9 hours she completley followed through on every word. My hair literally has never looked better. She educated me on how to take care of my processed hair and informed me what products I should purchase and possible stay away from. I give Gold Glam Bar one star.. The first picture of my hair very blonde is how I walked in the door. The second is a picture shown as to what I wanted. The last is the result of the hairdressers inability to deliver.. I was not angry but contacted the salon, re-presented the pictures and asked if she would correct it as it looked nothing like the picture... She absolutely refused ....I did not ask for a complete new process, only that the ends be made blonde as see in the picture I took to the salon with me on 11/10/2017. Again, they refused to correct their mistake and stated it would be another full-charge. I live in Dallas and all high-end salons guarantee their color. I found Gold Glam Bar on IG and it looked like they did really good color, especially for blondes. First of all let me just say this place is amazing everyone is so nice and friendly estela does my hair and extensions she always does an amazing job with my hair my hair was a mess when I first stepped in this salon and luckily estela was able to help me get my hair get better I had to add extensions because of the reason of how my hair was so damage it's been almost 5 months I just added new hair for a longer length a week ago and let me tell you guys my hair is aready growing looking healthy as it can not to mention it's growing and my hair and extensions look amazing you can't even tell their extensions so I definitely recommend you guys to come on and give yourself a chance on a new hair color or extensions which ever ask for estela she is so sweet she always makes me feel so comfortable when I sit at her chair and does her magic on my hair you guys won't regret :) it !!! read more

Nuvia did a consultation and said a different price than when I went to the appointment; Estela charged me more; Nuvia did not take responsibility when I complained. She ignored me so I had to dispute the amount with my bank. The bank took the money they extra charged me. I had to cut 4 inches of my hair. Estela ruined it. I have friends that went and also their hair were damaged. Be careful with this place; they always take advantage of the customer by charging them more the date of the appointment and they ruin the hair; it is not worth the money at all. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from here. I went in for a haircut and booked my appointment online. I went in on a rainy day and the girl cutting my hair just keeps chopping away at my dry hair. So I asked if shampoo was included before she did my haircut and why she was cutting it so uneven? She then told me I didn't book the shampoo+haircut package (I thought this was standard at every hair salon WTF??). Anyways, I told her I don't mind paying more but I definitely need my hair shampoo'd and cut. She does this after making me wait an eternity at the sink. After the cut she tells me I'm good to go. WITH WET DRIPPING HAIR?? I asked her if blow dry was included in the shampoo, she said no and asked me why I didn't book the correct package. UMMM because I genuinely believed this salon cared about their customers (oops....big mistake). I told her I'll pay more but if she could please blow dry my hair since it was raining and cold outside. She said she was busy, I said I don't mind waiting. She disappears for 25 minutes, comes back and hands me a brush and a hair dryer and tells me to do it myself. I did it myself, paid, and left. Warning!! DO NOT GO HERE!! I never write yelp reviews but made an account just to warn people of this place!! There are so many things wrong with this place I don't know where to begin!! After meeting with Ariel and showing her countless pictures of what I wanted I walked out with my hair not looking much different then when I walked in. I have gotten my hair done since I was 15 years old- I am now 30 and I have never had to sit in a chair for 8 hours for a highlight. I am not sure if Ariel is very brand new to the business or just slow with her work, because it doesn't take 8 hours to foil someone's head. She also told me she was doing a balayage-I am not sure they know what this means. Balayage is where you paint someone's hair without foils.. she was straight up giving me heavy highlights. My appointment was set for 930 but I didn't leave until 530 at night, not to mention I walked out with my hair wet because I could not sit in that chair for another second. Ariel had bleach on the back of my head from 10am to 130PM- which can't be good for Your hair. She then proceeded to take a 30 Minute consultation while I sat there with the bleach on my head. After sitting there for 8 Hours and paying $300+ later I walked out with color still in my hair (she didn't rinse it all out),something that looked nothing that I wanted , nor much different. I went out to dinner with my Family and everyone asked when I was getting my hair done...Tears just rolled down my face as I spent all day and a good amount of money. My mom and I both tried to get in contact with the owner, she never got back to us. The front desk girl (who legit can't get anything right from the name to the numbers ) had the wrong number had to Let us know they would only refund us $100. The owner should have taken responsibility and gotten back to us RIGHT away. To the owner- learn to manage a business and train your girls. Very very disappointed and wish I could write more/give this place 0 stars. read more

I've been going to her for a few months now and let me first say I hate getting my hair done ..I hate the waiting time and sitting there while my hair processes I always have things to do and find getting my hair done a waste of good time... but I do need my hair to look good haa!!! BUT every time I go it's like I'm in and out because we laugh and talk the entire time and it makes the time go by super fast! It's like hanging out with my friends while I do my hair!! Nubia is super sweet and super super humble ! the biggest plus is she is awesome at her job! I always come out of here feeling so beautified!!
