How can I ever get my hair cut or colored anywhere else?? Rylee does my hair and she's just the best. The best! She listens to you. She asks meaningful questions, manages your expectations, and then gives you what you want. When I told her I wanted my hair as blonde as possible without turning it into straw, she gave it to me. The color was beautiful and still is, plus it's growing out really well. And I don't even dread going to my next appointment (I traditionally dread any upcoming appointment), I'm actually looking forward to it. The vibe at Renata is casual and comfortable and fun. You can tell the stylists enjoy one another and what they do. It's overall just an enjoyable atmosphere in the coolest setting ever, a multi-story Victorian home complete with charming creaky wooden stairs and old fireplaces.

You get one appointment a month for $10 less than the regular price, and get a discount on additional blowouts too and a few other perks. (There is also a Double Barfly which gives you two $10 discounted blowouts per month). I think I have had a different stylist each time I have been here, but they are all good. They ask questions about what you are wanting and you can select from a menu of styles. Free drinks and movies to watch also. Most of the time my hair looks good for nearly a week afterwards so it's been worth while. Easy to make appointments online (they have an app too, which I haven't tried yet, but intend to). You do have to provide a credit card for the cancelation policy but that is fair.

I am new to Texas and decided that first thing I needed to do was find a good hair salon in…read moreGrapevine near where I will be living. I googled up best salon in Grapevine, and that is how I came across DV8 and after taking my time to read the reviews I decided to look for an appointment with Erika. From the moment you walk into the salon you are welcomed by a super friendly smile at the front desk, the whole vibe of this place is different from any salon I had been to before (I have lived in Miami and Chicago and I promise you this place feels soooo much friendlier) Erika came out to greet me and she was just as nice and warm as everyone who had left prior reviews for her had mentioned. She was absolutely a pleasure to work with. Asked me questions about the length of the haircut I wanted ( I was not even sure myself) but after patiently looking at the pictures I had saved on my phone, she proceeded to give me the exact haircut I had in mind but could not quite explain. She listened to my concerns ( I run 5 times a week so I do not have the time or patience to blow dry / style my hair) I wanted the length of the layers long enough I could still tie up and not have lose strands. I also wanted long side bangs but again not too short were I could still keep out of my face when running yet short enough to clearly be side bangs. I got all this plus more. After we were done with the cut, I explained to her I want to do color on my next visit but I am so bad at explaining what I had in mind... so she proceeded to show me different hair color of stylists around the establishment which gave me a clear idea of the different options with balayage, ombre etc. I am not the most put together when it comes to this kind of stuff but I truly feel that having a stylist that LISTENS and takes the time to understand what you are trying to do with your hair translates into a very positive hair salon experience. I am looking forward to my hair color session in a few weeks because I know I have found someone who clearly enjoys what she does and that translates into the quality of her work. On a side note about the salon, I love the fact that they are closed on weekends so that employees can spend time with their families...seriously, who does that aside from Chick-fil-a? To me that speaks volumes about the owners and what is important to them. It says they see employees as family and rather keep that family happy over making extra thousands of dollars on the weekends which is when most people would go get their hair done. Definitely happy to have found DV8 and looking forward to continue visiting the salon.

Prices are good. Super clean. But what I got wasn't what I wanted/asked for. I even asked if the stylist wanted me to keep the photo out and was told it wasn't necessary. Showed the picture at LEAST 4 times and was told that this is popular cut which put me under the assumption that it was doable. When asked if I liked the cut, I said that I thought it should be shorter. I was shocked when the reply was "Your hairline can only go up so far". Hairline and haircut are two different things. I zipped my lips and just agreed to everything so I could get out of there and get it fixed elsewhere. Now to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Update: Went to another salon and got it taken care of.

She called me a liar about my post. I thought it would be necessary to explain what she was unhappy about - First, the breakdown of charges. $338 total: $255 service $45 toner $38 (10%tip and tax) Second, due to a crazy storm in DFW, my third appointment there was cancelled. (Absolutely understandable! We can't control the weather... however, Erika knew my timeline that I was moving to Illinois May 30th - this was 9 days after my original appt on the 21st. She was unable to accommodate me, so naturally, I asked for a refund to use that money towards my new appointment elsewhere. I did not get a penny back.) Based on today, Erika did not want to give me back any of the money because I publicized my honest review. I hope this helps reflect the level of management's feistiness and lack of professionalism at this salon. On the bright side... I 10/10 recommend PureSana salon in Southlake! They were fantastic in hearing out my concerns, treated me with kindness and respect, and were able to produce everything I was hoping for. Shoutout Mikey!!!
