I am the most hesitant when it comes to getting my haircut because I've had some not so memorable experiences in the past... leaving with a shorter or different style than the one I had envisioned. Lily was the first stylist I came to after 10 years where I walked out extremely happy with my hair cut. With COVID, she is NOT accepting walk-ins so make sure to call ahead. I called and left a VM, and within a couple of hours she responded and was able to squeeze me in on a Friday afternoon. She does get pretty busy near the weekends though, so don't wait last minute like I did! The suite is located within the Delaney Salon, so when you enter, take a right and she's easy to find. I brought a picture of the long bob style I wanted and she was able to follow exactly what I wanted, even providing suggestions for my specific hair type. I know she was meticulous, taking approx an hour to make sure everything looked perfect. I was even impressed with the blowout at the end, I never felt the heat of the blow dryer against my scalp. Lily is SUCH a sweet lady and will converse with you the entire appt. She deserves 5 stars and more. read more

I don't usually write reviews on businesses, but I decided to try out this salon based solely on the reviews I read here, and I wish so much that I had asked more people, because even a free haircut that leaves you needing to wait at least 6-9 months to grow out is not a good idea. I called ahead, made an appointment, was punctual, and brought 3 photos of the haircut I wanted. I have long hair, and wanted long layers. It's basically the same haircut I've had for 15 years, so I knew that bringing pics was important and also I told her upfront my hair isn't as thick as it seems, because layering hair involves calculating layers based on thickness. So the nutshell version is that after 90 minutes, she had still half of my head different layer lengths than the other half, had blow dried it straight (I told her I didn't ever style my hair that way and the pics were all of my same hair natural texture-wavy), and there were basically 2 major layers instead of a cascade of layers, and the shorter of those 2 was using about 70% of my hair, so really really weird proportions. The worst part was that she said she needed me to leave because her next client was already waiting, so I needed to come back later. Which would have been ok, except that a few hours later she tells me she can't because she is sick, another day. The next day she says sorry I'm going on vacation for a few weeks and I won't be able to fix it. Luckily, she had told me when I left that since she prefers cash over card, I could bring the money when I came back that night to have her fix it, but when she said she had to go on vacation she told me not to worry about paying her. This was good because I had to pay someone else JUST to make the layers symmetrical, and by that I mean the left side of my head layers were shorter than the right side. There was NOT a way to correct the layers because of how much hair she had cut disproportionately, which I think she realized when she did it, and that is why she acted so weird and then didn't have me pay. But I still had to pay to have someone make it look at least not like I had done it myself, and here I am a week later still annoyed every time I look in the mirror because it reminds me of a grown-out Mullet. I know it will grow out, but it will take about a year before the majority sections grow to even them all out. She seemed nice, and these reviews are all glowing, so I don't know if she just had a bad day or what. This was probably the worst haircut I've ever had, because of the fact that it isn't able to be fixed by someone who is more competent, there isn't anything I can do, and the way she got herself out of it seemed very shady. Also the "I really prefer cash" part, I don't usually carry that much money in cash. Just do your research, and know that all 5 star reviews doesn't mean it's safe. read more

I found Lily on yelp and have been going to her for several months now. She is a wonderful stylist and I am very pleased.

One word for this lady. Amazing. I had my appointment set for Saturday, however Dallas got snowbombed and driving was not going to be all smooth. I had made up my mind to still get my hair cut done. Right that moment Lily called to say that she is working Sunday instead of Saturday to make up for the bad weather and snow. Isn't that awesome? I blessed her heart for this! Sunday: I am right on time. We discuss about my style, my expectation and she listens to all of it. 45 mins of hard work of cutting through density of my hair and superb blow dry later, I look exactly what I had in my mind. I have more layers now, with same length that I walked in with. And hair looks more lovely and lively, compared to the flat drab I had earlier. 10 on 10 for Lily. She is a nice lady with fabulous skills. I am definitely going back to her, for cuts and color! read more

After going to 5 different stylists in 3 years since I moved to Dallas I finally found an amazing one!!! Lily is remarkable! She did my hair with 3 different colors and a cut and she did as good of a job as my stylist I've been going to in Florida for 20 years. And we had great conversations too! Very skilled and friendly. All I can say is WOW! Lily did an amazing job on my hair. She actually listened to what I wanted and duplicated it to the T! Never before have I been so happy with my haircut and color. Thanks to Yelp, I just found my new hair stylist and colorist. Lily is awesome! I came in with about 2 years worth of raggedy unruly hair and was ready to wish it goodbye. With lookbooks in hand, Lily helped pick out a new 'do for me. In two hours (after I called in a same day appointment--on her day off, no less), I strutted out of her salon looking fab with shorter, mahogany locks and beautiful layers. I hadn't had a haircut this short in many, many years--but Lily made it look smart and stylish. I also appreciated that she was fast and very attentive to the details, taking the time to do some preventive maintenance on my hair while giving me styling and care tips. Her professional training at Toni & Guy really shows in her work--I'm still marveling at the little work it takes to keep my hair looking great a week after my visit. For $90 cut and color, the service I got was a steal. And it also doesn't hurt that Lily is a pretty, charming Thai lady with a great sense of humor and pleasant to talk with. read more

I needed a hair appointment kind of last minute and my usual stylist was booked. Came to yelp and saw Lily had 5 stars so I contacted her and she had one opening the next day to squeeze me in. I'm SO glad I went to her, she is definitely a 5 star stylist! I got my root color done and a trim and she did a perfect job matching my roots on the first try (I've had some bad situations with hair coloring so I was very nervous). I've been looking for a new stylist since mine moved away six months ago. It's been sooo frustrating going from one place to the next trying to find someone as good or better than my previous stylist. Finally!!! I found Lily at Delaney Salon in Coppell!! I went to Melissa for the first time last week and she was amazing! I have been going to the same hair dresser all of my life and finally decided to find a new person. Listens to what you have in mind for style, honest in her professional opinion and does a wonderful job with coloring. First let me say that Lily is really a wonderful lady. Super sweet. She was very accomodative and put me right in her schedule. So, I got a short cut from her. Went in with mid-chest long hair, and chopped it off to very short pixie. I have had my hair cut short a number of times. This was the first time a razor blade was used to do the entire cut. So, I was like, hmm...okay, however, I noticed my head started itching right as I left the salon. And then it was crazy, like nothing I have experienced. It was horrible. I looked up online other people have had similar experiences when a not sharp enough razor blade is used to cut close to the skin. It also could have been that or in combination with having an allergy to a product she used, however I have never had an allergy to any products in the past, and I have used the ones I saw her using in my hair. Anyhow, I ended up having to go to the dermatologist to deal with the itching. Sucked. The cut looked pretty good initially, but has not grown out too well. In the past, I have always let my short cuts grow out a little and they look great. Maybe this was all just a really a random occurrence. :( read more
