I just picked up my pizza order from Prince Street Pizza in Old Town Pasadena. I saw Wanderlust Creamery right next door inside Indiana Colony Marketplace. I'm a sucker for ice cream. I had to walk through the front doors. I remember trying durian from Wanderlust at a past event. That's what I was looking for, but they didn't carry it at the time. They offer globally inspired and unique ice creams flavors such as Sticky Rice & Mango, Ube Malted Crunch, Japanese Neapolitan, Sakura Crunch, and more. I got to try a couple free samples, Inis Mor and Sakura Crunch. I will have to return to try their other intriguing flavors. I wanted to get half and half of two flavors for the one scoop, but it was not an option unfortunately. I ended up getting one single scoop of Sakura Crunch for $7.50. It is a cherry blossom ice cream with matcha & strawberry "kit kats". Very light, smooth, and floral in taste. Strawberry kit kats was a nice add-in topping. I found out they make the kit kats in house. Cool! Staff was okay. Service was quick. Portion was decent. Price was fair. Plenty of inside seating shared with the other local, independent food vendors within the marketplace. Parking can be found on the streets or at nearby parking garages. Highly recommend in giving Wanderlust a try if you haven't already. You may find your new favorite ice cream flavor right here at Wanderlust. Enjoy!
I can't believe they've got the Shanghainese White Rabbit flavor . All the red hearts!!!!! So creamy and amazing. The service today was kind of meh the staff was awkward... feeling more like I stopped him from chatting with the staff from pressed juice But guess what, the ice cream is way too great. No time for awkward lol The seat was nice. The environment was pretty nice for a weekday. Highly recommend the new flavor!
I went to Wanderlust Creamery Ice Cream after I had a nice dinner in a nearby restaurant. It was a cold night, but It was really fun to have ice cream. We stopped by Wanderlust Creamery shop. It is located in Old Town Pasadena. The shop has inviting and aesthetic vibes. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The shop has unique ice cream flavors like; Beurre Noisette cookie dough, ube malted crunch, mango sticky rice, Kinder, sesame cookie, Wanderlust vanilla, Japanese Neapolitan, pandan tres Leches, to mention a few.They also have seasonal flavors as well as vegan options. I ordered tasting trio with Kinder, black sesame cookies and cream, and beurre noisette cookie dough. I enjoyed the flavors I got. It was silky, creamy with perfect texture. I will be back to try more of their unique flavors.
There's something about wandering Old Town on a Friday night that makes dessert feel less optional and more necessary. We stopped by Wanderlust Creamery after dinner, mostly just following the foot traffic and the hum of the evening crowd. I've been to their Atwater location before, so I walked in half expecting that same wide board of rotating flavors. This Pasadena shop felt noticeably more pared down, especially for a weekend night. I went with two scoops of the Ube Malted Crunch. The ube base was smooth and creamy with that mellow, nutty sweetness that doesn't overwhelm. It wasn't overly sugary, which I appreciated after a full meal. The malted crunch pieces added texture without turning it into a jaw workout, just enough crisp contrast to keep each bite interesting. That said, the limited selection was a little surprising. Compared to Atwater, the variety here felt tight, and if you're someone who likes to sample a lot before deciding, your options might feel constrained. Service was quick and efficient. We were in and out without much waiting, even with the Friday night flow. Overall, it's still a solid dessert stop if you're already in Old Town and want something reliable. Just do not come expecting the same breadth of flavors as other locations. It helps to have a backup choice in mind before you get to the counter.
Wanderlust Creamery really knows what they're doing. They are getting it right! Creative, fun, delicious, and innovative flavors! The Pasadena location is inside of a tiny food market hall. The menu is on the smaller side which is great because it isn't overwhelming but there is still something for everyone. I got one scoop of the Japanese Neapolitan flavor which included a blend of matcha, hojicha and black sesame. Though I've had Asian inspired flavors before, I've never had a flavor like this one. The ice cream was incredibly smooth and creamy, and not to sweet. Will be back here for sure to try other flavors like sticky rice + mango and passionfruit cacao.
Came here on a Saturday night while walking around trying to find some dessert to have. My group wanted to try this place and it was packed inside. Luckily, there was a kiosk where you can order what you'd like, but it was in a very weird spot off to the side. The kiosk was placed in the same area as where the regular line was set up. It also blocked an area where people can sit and enjoy their ice cream. The kiosk had their clothing merchandise say were sold out, but it allowed you to order a single, double, or triple scoop of ice cream and customize it to your liking (cone, cup, etc.). You can also wait in the regular line to get the ice cream order. I didn't order anything because I didn't see anything that I wanted and some of the flavors had items I could have a reaction to. I thought there would be some traditional flavors, but I didn't know much about this ice cream store except I overheard my friend say it's a Filipino inspired menu. There were some very unique flavors, ube, some passion fruit flavored items, some sort of tres leches, etc. There were some seating areas along the front window side (which looked like an old display window from an old clothing store). In the back had some seats as well, but we didn't go too far back. My friends enjoyed the ice cream and we all had a great time.

There's metered street parking or any of the parking structures that's a short walk. I visit this spot more because it's more convenient when I'm in the area visiting my brother. Wanderlust came to fruition & inspired from Adrienne's travels, & the flavors are reflected as such. I hit the jackpot with the Blueberry Elderflower, Sakura Crunch, & Yuzu Creamsicle! My husband is Swedish so Blueberry Elderfloweer really hits the spot & reminds me of our travels to Sweden... with sweet, rich mascarpone ice cream that's perfectly balanced with blueberry jam & enhanced by the elderberry cordial that's adds depth of rich fruitiness & tartness. Sakura Crunch & Yuzu Creamsicle are Japan-inspired flavors & ordered a double. Both were absolutely delish that I can't help deciding which was best. The cherry blossom ice cream was mildly tinted with a delicate floral flavor with sweet strawberry that's offset by a creamy, bitter, rich tea taste. The yuzu citrus sorbet was sweet, tangy, & refreshing, yet so creamy for a sorbet. Prices: Single $5.00 Split Single +50¢ Tasting Trio $6.50 Double $7.50 Pint $13.00 Cone $1.00 ea. Toppings $1.00 ea. It's been a while since I came for their ice cream. My all time favorites are their Ube Malted crunch and Pandant Tres Leches. I did sample their monthly flavors for April including Shanghai Easter Bunny and Kyoto dark chocolate. The easter bunny was too sweet, but the dark chocolate was pretty good. However I still chose to order my all time favorites and I got the trio samples. I got to scoops of Ube malted crunch and one Tres Leches. It's $8.75 for the trio now. They give small scoops as usual. The flavors still taste very delicious but I was super disappointed that there was no malted crunch at all for my two scoops of Ube. And my partner also got one scoops of Ube malted crunch and she also had no crunch in her scoop. We both were super disappointed because the name didn't change but what happened to the crunch?? For this price with small scoops, they are cutting down ingredients too??? I hope it was just a one time thing...or else I won't be coming back anytime soon.
I liked the ube malted crunch, pandan tres leches, and black sesame. Based on pricing, the single just doesn't seem as economical as the trio so I would get a trio and share with another person. Plus, you can enjoy more flavors that way. The pandan was my favorite as it had a very subtle and distinctly sweet pandan flavor. The ube could have had more crunchies, but still good ube flavor and it makes sense why it is so popular. Service was quick, and it was empty when we came on opening day on a weekend.
I came here after date night with my boyfriend for dessert, and this ice cream shop did not disappoint. They have such unique flavors, and they let you sample, which is great for trying what you're interested in. We sampled both the Thai mango sticky rice and the pandan tres leches. The Thai mango sticky rice is dairy-free and made with coconut cream--it was light, delicious, and not too sweet. The pandan tres leches was nice and creamy, sweeter than the mango sticky rice, and so rich in flavor. We ended up getting both flavors to go and loved them. The service was great as well; the staff was friendly, and there are spots to sit inside. It also seemed like a nice place to hang out, with people doing homework on their laptops. Would definitely come back and recommend!
My friend highly recommended trying Wanderlust Creamery since they have many unique ice cream flavors. The staff was very patient and allowed us to sample multiple flavors. I got the Japanese Neopolitan (matcha, hojicha, and Hokkaido milk) and Shining Hour (milky grape ramune hwaechae). I loved the Japanese Neopolitan as this was a unique combination flavor for ice cream and you can taste all 3 flavors of matcha, hojicha, and Hokkaido milk. Had a creamy flavor to it as well and it didn't feel like one flavor overpowered the others. The Shining Hour had a strong grape flavor but not the artificial flavor. Tasted like a grape flavored fruit drink and it had bits of ramune and grape in the ice cream. 10/10 recommend!
I've been a long time fan of Wanderlust but came back recently with some friends from out of town. I always love trying their seasonal flavors! What I got: - Seoul Banoffee Pie (4/5) - it has a VERY strong banana flavor. The other flavors like hojicha were much less apparent, but i still really enjoyed this flavor! I would probably want to try others next time though. - Sugar Plum Dairy Fairy (5/5) - i love a good TART plum! The swirled tart plum jam was just enough with the custard ice. Definitely my favorite and i'll be sad when this one rotates out :( It's always a good time at wanderlust and I love that they have new flavors all the time so repeat customers like me continue to enjoy.
One of my fave ice cream spots! They've got a ton of Asian-inspired flavors and they do them really well. My partner and I got Smokey Road and Vietnamese Coffee, they paired so nicely together. I also tried the hwachae and corn latte flavors and loved both! Big shoutout to the cashier for being super patient while I sampled like 7 flavors LOL. Super friendly vibe overall. Parking's easy too; there's a lot behind Miniso that's just $1 for the first 2 hours, which is super convenient.

Great variety of flavors that made it really hard to pick what to get, all the flavors were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Kinder ice cream and the Vietnamese Rocky Road they were some of our favorite flavors. read more

We love Wanderlust and the unique flavors they offered. We happened to stop by on a weeknight right before the rush, so the nice gentleman let us take our time and sample a bunch of flavors. We settled on: Che Thai, Subaru Hwachae, Passionfruit Cacao, and Abuelita Malted Crunch - all in cones. Cous got Icelandic Milk Chocolate (had hints of black licorice) and that was the only one that wasn't my jam. Wanderlust is closest to the entrance, so when they're busy (for Pressed and the Chai latte shop), it does seem to get congested. Def worth trying their unique Asian flavors! read more
The ice cream here was only OK. I didn't love it nor do I think I'll be going back. They do have unique flavors however it's expensive for what you are getting. Parking is a pain. It's Pasadena. They do let you sample though! read more

My family loves, loves Wanderlust ice cream! I knew we were going to have it for dessert when we saw it on our way to Bone Kettle. So, after brunch we took the short walk to Colorado Blvd. to get our fix. Service is quick but impersonal. You have to ask for napkins. There's narrow counter seating at the front by the windows. The place is small but nicely lit and kept clean. The price is fair for the scoop size and quality. Always perfectly creamy and so, so good! read more

First time here at this location. I never really tried Wanderlust but it's pretty decent. I had a few samples since it wasn't any vegan ice cream. However, I did purchase my sister a scoop of ice cream which I forgot the name. It's located in oldtown Pasadena on Colorado Blvd. It's located in the food area next to The Pie Hole and easy to find. Small-ish place in old towne Pasadena. It can easily be missed because there's signs for multiple places when you enter 1 door (like pressed juicery) - it is the first place as soon as you walk through the entrance. You need to search for parking, be that street or inside or outdoor lot - but you'll likely be paying for it. **Right now, until the end of July, they're running a promotion 3 scoops for the outside of 1!! I've always been a fan of Wanderlust ever since the Atwater Village shop opened up across the street from me several years ago. I've always ordered the tasting trip - it's a better bang for buck since it only costs around 75 cents more than the single, and you get three flavors to choose from. The Ube Malted Crunch is their staple and it never disappoints. The decadent nutty flavor with hints of vanilla/pistachio and the added crunch from the malt makes for a great first flavor. On this visit I added the Buaontalenti and the Verbena Yakult Peach. I was very impressed with the Buontalenti, it was reminiscent of an orange sherbet but with more mellowed flavors of vanilla and citrus. The Verbena Yakult Peach is a was delicious Yakult yogurt, but still mellow enough for those who don't desire the full tastiness of frozen yogurt. P.S. just beware about the bathrooms. They're safe, it was just shocking when the associate told me that it was in their basement. It's extremely dimly lit with black bricks, they have a creepy picture of a skull and a guy just sitting there in the corner. I just added my review of another Wanderlust location but since I went to the Pasadena location two times a few days later, it warranted their own review. Since we live closer to this location and love Wanderlust in general, we hope they will thrive in Old Town and not succumb to what seems like constant turnover in the neighborhood. We went in and had some of the most amazing ice creams. Loved it so much that we returned two days later and picked up several pints and a dozen, fresh made waffle cones (a mix of the ube and brown sugar) to bring to a dinner party. Wanderlust has been my favorite ice cream shop for a while and I've always been impressed with their flavors. They use really high quality ingredients and the texture is always so creamy and smooth that you can't detect any ice particles. For those reasons it is very pricy at $7 for a single scoop, but it's also an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and try really unique flavors that you wouldn't normally see at other ice cream shops. I really appreciate how descriptive they are about their flavors and what ingredients go into them so you get the full transparency on what you're really getting. I've mostly had their seasonal flavors because they're always limited run. Their seasonal Sakura Crunch has to be one of the best because of the distinct floral taste in the cream. I also recently had their AAPI special Kinako and Kyoho Grape Jelly and I could really taste the buttery flavor of kinako. I wish I could come back to Wanderlust more often, but there are just way too many amazing dessert places in LA to rotate between. After a late dinner we were looking for a Sweet spot for a little dessert. We had saw his place smack dab in the middle Downtown Colorado st. in Pasadena. They had a small line but I was curious about their "Asian" inspired flavors like Thai ice tea with Boba, and Mango Sticky Rice, and Vietnamese Rocky Road ice creams. I had ordered a Bibinka, Mango Sticky Rice, and a Banana coffee pie with a scoop of Vietnamese Rocky Road. I liked all the flavors I tried, but unfortunately I had about 1/2 and I dropped my scoop in the parking garage. We will definitely try more of their flavors and hopefully not drop mine next time. read more
Wanderlust has delicious and unique flavors. When we arrived at this location, we thought it was closed. We arrived an hour before closing. The rest of the inside was dark and there was no one inside. We walked in and there was one behind the ice cream counter or at the register so we were initially disappointed. But the staff members came from behind and helped us out. We tried a whole bunch of samples and I loved a lot of the flavors. Ordered a two scoop of Ube Malted Crunch and Smoky Road and another two scoop of Passionfruit Cacao and Black Sesame Cookies and Cream. The Ube Malted Crunch is a good pick for ube lovers and has small malt bits that you can savor a bit longer. The Smoky Road is great for chocolate lovers that want a darker chocolate taste. The Passionfruit Cacao is a sweet and fruity flavor. The Black Sesame Cookies and Cream have the sweetness of the cookies and cream mixed with the natural tones of black sesame. Great little nook to have a dessert and you can try samples before you buy, just be mindful if there is a line behind you. read more
Another great option for high end ice cream as the flavors here are more SE Asian and Filipino inspired. The Mango Sticky Rice is the most popular flavor and for good reason. It has a balance of sweet and a hint of salty flavor. The Ube waffle cone is another signature item here. The Mango Sticky Rice with Ube cone is a good combination! Try the flavors that sound good to you and find the one that floats your boat. read more
I have been following Wanderlust for a while and I'm so glad I finally got to try it! All the anticipation and waiting did not disappoint. Their flavors are unique and not overly sweet. Each month they introduce new flavors. If you're a huge fan they have pint sizes available. Definitely one of my favorite ice cream places to indulge. read more

Wanderlust has many unique flavors influenced from many different countries! You can do a split scoop for flavors without extra cost and you can get some samples before picking your flavor(s). My top flavors regular flavors are japanese neapolitan & earl grey. Seasonal flavors that have been really good are the blueberry elderflower, sawtelle milk & brownies. For the size of the scoops it is on the expensive side but when the seasonal flavors are unique and done well, it's worth a treat for me. But texture is soft and melts faster compared to other ice cream places. Parking is old town pasadena so there's lots of paid parking is the many nearby parking structures. read more
Wanderlust has been a growing favorite for ice cream connoisseurs Los Angeles. I've tried the Guava Tres Leche and Pandan Tres Leches, both were so good. I love that Wanderlust has a large variety of "asian" flavors that are reminiscent of the dessert I have growing up. They have a flavor or combination for everyone - and they swap flavors monthly. It doesn't matter the season. Ice cream is always such a fun dessert. Like every ice shops, you can try the flavors before purchasing. I had tried (and loved) their Ube and sticky rice before - their signature flavors. The store is located in "Indiana Colony" which is community marketplace that shares a space with other businesses (Pie Hole and Bearology). Definitely recommend in general. They have some of the most unique and delicious flavors! I get excited every month to see what their new rotating flavors of the month are since they draw influences from around the world. Their monthly flavors are also amazing! This visit, I had the chance to try buko pandan, pistachio and ube. Parking can be tough since its in pasadena and its mainly street parking. The ice cream shop is located in a store with other dessert and drinks shops. It can get packed inside and seating is limited. read more

Service was quick and helpful. I do wish they had a kids size as I can't have that much ice cream anymore loll hello and thank you Asian lactose intolerance genealogy. I also appreciate they give samples with a metal spoon way more eco friendly. Ice cream itself is A++ quality and I love the unique spins on all their flavors. We got the rose white peach, smokey road, and japanese neopolitan. All of which were really good but our favorite was definitely the neopolitan! Would definitely be back! read more
By far my favorite ice cream chain that is sadly only in Los Angeles. Taking desserts and foods from across the world, they change them into delicious ice cream flavors that are so delicious. For instance, there is mango & sticky rice, pandan tres leches, tiramisu, milk tea, Japanese Neapolitan, among many more. They have a set menu, but it can change from month to month. While other locations have nicer venues with outdoor seating and a storefront, this one located inside of a food hall still delivers on quality. Typically, one receives the scoops in a cup, but they also have it in a fun cone, like taro. There are also plenty of dairy-free options, which is always a major plus! read more
My friends and I came were walking down the street on a particularly hot day and thankfully came across this spot to escape the heat. They had so many interesting flavors, but the ube malted crunch immediately caught my eye. They of course let you try some flavors before making your final selection. The ube malted crunch was deliciously creamy, slightly nutty yet with a hint of vanilla. The malted crunch bites elevated it further by adding a slight caramel flavor. There is very limited seating near the front, but we managed to each find a spot to take a breather as we inhaled our delicious treats. Highly recommend stopping here to cool down if needed and try their delicious flavors! read more
Such a yummy treat! I'm not really the biggest fan of ice cream by any means, just enjoy it here and there. I had a nice dinner out in town and after walking my dinner off I had a craving for somethin' sweet.. Hopped on trusty Yelp and saw that wanderlust was only a few hundred feet away, so I headed there. The cute little shop is inside a little center with other small restaurants, it's a very cute place. Both employees were very sweet and the girl who was serving the ice cream offered to let me taste whatever flavor I wanted. I tried a few (acting like I wasn't gonna go for the Oreo anyways) and decided to get the Oreo one. I thought that was it, but the waffle cone just looked SO good, so I went for it! For someone who isn't the biggest fan of ice cream I didn't leave a crumb, it was soooo good, I will most definitely be back and recommend to anybody with a sweet tooth! read more

I am a huge ice cream person and this is my favorite place in all of SoCal! It's so hard to find an ice cream place that does unique Asian flavors right - it tends to be more of an icy texture or a sherbet, but this place is exactly what I look for - keeping the creamy consistency while wholeheartedly staying true to the flavor. We love wanderlust! It's popular among all our friends in the Pasadena area too. Depending on what time of the day/evening you go, there can be a bit of a line, but it usually moves quick. There's not really a ton of seating, all the seating inside by the pie hole is just for pie hole customers, but it's usually not too bad just walking and eating your ice cream. I really appreciate the variety of flavors that are indigenous to the various countries the flavors represent. My favorite signature flavors include: Japanese Neapolitan (matcha, black sesame, sakura), ube malted crunch, pandan tres leches, black sesame cookies and cream, and vietnamese rocky road (vietnamese coffee!). The pandan tres leches is a little hit and miss sometimes so make sure you try a taste of it first to see if there's a strong enough pandan flavor that day. But when it's there, it's so good! Their seasonal flavors are also really fun, so I check back pretty regularly to see what new flavors are available throughout the year. read more

Arrived to this shop and saw a line, but the second part of the line was a bundle of people. I thought they were in line so I waited behind them only to see that the line wasn't moving. Turns out they were standing there just talking to each other. It's understandable cause the place is really narrow and if you come with a big group, it's hard to talk to everyone if it's that narrow. There aren't any seatings for large groups in general, just bar table seating and two seaters. Anyway, I went around the large group and it was quick to get service. I was interested in the black sesame cookies and cream. When I sampled it, I didn't know there would be little wanna be cookies in there. Wanderlust Creamery was precisely what we needed at the end of a long travel day that was loaded with fun. It was a fun space, as three or four businesses share a storefront, but Wonderlust's staff had the right interaction style and friendliness to pull it all off.
