I ordered two combination platters. The first one was General Tso's chicken with fried rice and crab rangoon. The second platter was wings with pork fried rice. The platters were decent but can't compare to NYC Asian cuisine (hence the 3 stars), maybe it needs a little more love. Both platters came up to $26, which you can't beat. Great pricing and a decent meal.

Now back in the area, I've had two recent combos at lunchtime in a near-empty dining room. -- Hot and Sour Soup (n lunch combos): Sufficiently hot from pepper and lightly sour, with still-slightly-crunchy vegetation including a few kinds of mushrooms. Tasty broth that tastes slightly meaty. The best part of both meals. -- Sweet and Sour Chicken (on a lunch combo): Only slightly crispy and VERY slight amount of chicken within each piece. We often talk about chicken-to-batter ratio; this serving had the lowest I've ever had-- which I'd expect at a rough and tumble over-the-counter joint with pictures of the food on the walls, but not here. Thin, sweet sauce with a few cherries, stems intact. Aiight. -- General Gao's Chicken (on a lunch combo): Orange nuggets, well coated with a mildly sweet sauce, no heat, and no contrast to the texture or sweet flavor. Not crisp. Smallish pieces, decent quantity, but not tender or juicy. Reminiscent of a frozen product if not one in actuality. -- Pork Fried Rice (had with the Sweet and Sour): Midrange in color, lighter in flavor, closer to Rice-a-Roni, with onions, peas, and mini pork cubes. -- White Rice (had with the Genera): Fresh, solid, no issues. Service was minimalist on both recent visits. On one, the server was in the kitchen the whole time. On the other, the server walked away while I was in mid-sentence-- twice. At $16 - $17 with no appetizer, a bit much for a lunch combo, which should have some value. I also don't see the quality I used to encounter here years ago. Although the Chinese joint across the street isn't much better, there are many dining options in the area, so I don't forsee a return. Note: This isn't a referendum on authenticity or style. I like every Chinese style and every degree of authenticity as long as the food is good within that breed. This one isn't, but that's just me. Dateworthy, yes. But please-- take her someplace else.

Once they announce it, you need to call immediately or get shut out. My observation about the place itself. The U shaped bar is gigantic for the space. It's a bar-bar too not like a sushi counter. This seems to draw a crowd of local drinkers rather than the normal sushi crowd. You feel like you walked into a sports bar. The place was really loud and it was hard to hear the chef explaining everything. Once seated... it's the chefs carving the tuna off to the side. There were 2 bar tenders making drinks and like 3 chefs cutting tuna.... other than that, no waitstaff. Which is really odd. You have to grab the manager who was running around helping to get your Wasabi refilled. Not to mention they gave zero place settings for about 8 of us, until we asked. The bar tenders seemed to pass over my empty drink until I asked for a refill too. It's a more chaotic event than I would have liked for $120 per person. It also takes time to carve the tuna so if you arrive hungry be prepared to not get your first tiny bite until 45 minutes after the start. The star was Chef Timmy. Honestly he was awesome. The tuna.... so good. You end to with only 3 pieces of Nigiri which was a little disappointing but the sashimi part was unlimited. Of course you have to take your plate up and ask for some. They only put about 6 small pieces of the various cuts per trip. I think I went up 5 times for sashimi alone. The tuna handrolls you can make yourself or ask the chef nicely. Those were really good. Probably best I ever had because it's so fresh. There is a limited amount of the highly prized (and highly priced) Kamatoro, but you can experience it here as it's included in the experience. That's a hard cut to find. The finale was a shot of tuna spinal fluid. My first time with that but it's not bad. You're probably looking at $150 per person unless you order alcohol than it's alot more. The fresh cut tuna is amazing. I'm glad I did it. The chaos and the setting made it less than ideal. I don't think I would go again to this location for it. One and done. It's a bit weird that you're paying $120 for this and you're still intermingled with local patrons just there to grab some beers after work and watch the game. Because of the massive bar it is impossible to create a space secluded to do it. They also should have a roaming waiter at least taking care of the 30 people who came for this experience.

Sawa had a decent Yelp rating (and was essentially the only place we could walk to), so we decided to give it a try. Since we were dining at an off time, there was only one other patron in view. They have an expansive Asian menu and we ordered: Salmon Dinner - 5pcs of salmon sushi & spicy salmon roll (with salad) Asian Fried Rice with Chicken Scallion Pancake Gyoza -Japanese pan fried pork dumpling 2 Green Tea Total with Tip: $78 How expansive is the menu? If you search for Salmon on their online menu, you get 47 hits! Service was good, then again we were essentially on our own. The Salmon was good, not the best I've ever had, but tasty. The Fried Rice was also tasty, but very salty. The Scallion Pancakes were crispy and nicely cooked, we really liked these. And the Gyoza was very tasty, but should have been crisper. Overall, a very enjoyable "Linner" and a 4-star dining experience. I would return here if in the area.

The noise level was comfortable, making it easy to have a conversation. The restaurant has a classic, upscale feel, with dark wood and dark floors throughout. Our server came right over, and we started with three orders of bacon-wrapped scallops ($16.99 for four) to share. They were cooked perfectly and served with a delicious pineapple salsa, which was a unique addition that I had never had with scallops before and really enjoyed. We also ordered a bottle of Belle Glos Pinot Noir from Sonoma ($60) for the table. Our server recommended it as a well-priced, tasty option. I had tried this wine before, so I appreciated the suggestion and was happy with the choice. Most of the table also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was thick, hearty, and very enjoyable. It tasted like it had bacon bits in it, which added to the flavor. For my main course, I ordered the Crab Stuffed Sole ($42.99), served over rice, with a cup of clam chowder for an additional $3. The fish was cooked well and the portion was generous. The flavor was a little mild, and I would have liked a bit more sauce, but overall, it was a very enjoyable dish that left me feeling full and satisfied. For dessert, I split the tiramisu (approximately $11) with another person at the table. The portion was huge, and even split in half it was a lot. While it was good, it had a little more cream than flavor, but I still enjoyed it. I also ordered a decaf espresso, which I appreciated they had available, although it was not really hot. Our server was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and full of energy. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the food came out at a good pace, and we never had to wait long for anything we needed. Overall, this was a great place for a group dinner. The portions were generous, the service was excellent, and the food was enjoyable. The prices are on the higher side, so this is more of a place for a special occasion or an upscale dinner. However, I very much enjoyed my experience and would recommend it.

The spicy ramen was okay, I love spice but this one was a bit starchy as if too much starch was used to thicken the broth. The noodles were also way too soft; and there's very little protein. I got beansprout as an add on and that was $2; a bit much if added onto the bowl.

Our food arrived fairly quickly as well. All of the staff are very friendly & attentive. The space is cool, very relaxing & open. As for the food, it was very, very SALTY. The mussels were good but once you reach the bottom of the bowl it was salty. The flavor of the wings were good but also salty. The ramen was also extremely salty as well so it seems like everything they make here is just overall on the salty side. If they just lessened every dish on that part, it would be perfect. But especially the ramen was very hard to eat without drinking 5 cups of water. The shirley temple was delicious tho! Food is 3/5 but service is a 5/5. So I will say the service definitely saved the rating from 3 stars.

Situated inside the Worcester Public Market, which is right at Kelley Sq, parking can be a little hectic. Of the several times I've parked in this area, I've managed to find street parking by driving up either Green St. or Harding St. The interior is a bar countertop that wraps around the central kitchen area and bar stools. No traditional seating if you're hoping for a traditional restaurant experience. The server was very friendly and the whole place had a great young, kinda rebellious vibe going on. We ordered two things and were quite disappointed with the quality of the food and the immense wait time. Da Wangs ; we came here precisely for Korean Fried Chicken which is especially known for being double-fried. The cook pulled them out of the heating drawer - already fried as expected - and dropped them in the fryer... and then proceeded to disappear for several minutes. Oh no. The plating of the dish looks delicious, but biting into it... the worst fried chicken we've ever had. The skin was so hard and crunchy and the burnt taste was unavoidable. The only redeemable flavor was the very paltry glaze of hot honey on the wings. Gnocch Bokki ; we love tteokbokki and this seemed like a really interesting take on it. we watched the chef fry up the aromatic ingredients and mushrooms for what seemed like forever. AND he disappeared multiple times. We don't appreciate waiting 40-50 minutes for food for no damn reason. The rice cakes had a delightful crisp to them, but the duck was utterly dry and unenjoyable despite the sous vide description. The sauce was unpleasantly cloying after the first few bites. I don't know what I'm suppose to take from the flavor profile, but IMO it just tasted like a plate of hoisin sauce. The bartender/waitress talked about how she had past career experience as a food safety (or health?) inspector and it was interesting to listen to... and shortly after that she grabbed a bite off of a large sauced-up plate near the burners... and then the chef proceeded to use that same plate to glaze our wings. We will not be returning.
