If you're looking to make it a special celebration, order the balloons! You'll get dozens of colorful balloons scattered to welcome you! Kelley in the Crooked Cabana was so friendly and thoughtful, serving us drinks and snacks poolside. We requested massages (2 weeks in advance) and a truly gifted woman welcomed us and worked our muscles, followed by a grand soak in the hot tub. The hike to the wooden gazebo was just right for us (not too hard for us); maybe next time we'll hike to the bottom of the falls. If you are looking for peaceful, quiet, romantic, serene, this is for you. We made a fire in the shared area outside, poured a glass of wine and watched while younger couples played cornhole, etc. It was our anniversary so I ordered chocolate covered strawberries, cheese tray and champagne for the room. We knew there were very few restaurant options in the area so I brought some containers of good soup to microwave and enjoy in the screened porch (our cottage had one). If you want to feel like you've gone on an exotic trip without the airports, baggage claim, and headaches, this is the place for you. We were there in late August but I bet fall is gorgeous with leaves, and earlier in the summer you could "live" at the pool with floating lounge chairs and trees to offer late afternoon shade. Oh, and the restaurant in town that's open most nights is Chappi's. My husband had the hanger steak cheesesteak and it was phenomenal, as was my burger and handcut fries.

We communicated through emails. Becky replied nicely and upgraded me to a queen bed room. Since I drove alone and not familiar with this area, she gave me a lot of useful advices and checked the routes for me (the bridge closed so I had to detour...). The next day before I left, she cooked homemade breakfast and let me take my time enjoy my coffee even though it was a little bit late. Usually I'm a very picky guest, but I love this place so much! Feel so thankful for her warm hospitality. Can't wait to go back soon! Highly recommended!!

From our first interaction with the owner, Becky, we had nothing but an incredible experience. We called to book the weekend, and since it was after the high season of summer, she gave us a special rate for two nights in the Honeymoon Suite. We sent her in a deposit, and called her the day of to confirm the best time of arrival. She was completely casual and accommodating and said to just stop by whenever. When we showed up, she gave us the tour of the Suite, which turned out to be the entire basement of her home! We had a private entrance, a working fireplace, a full ensuite bathroom with an incredible shower setup, a huge sectional sofa that could have fit at least eight people, a master bedroom with a queen size bed, as well as a second twin bedroom that we did not even use. Perfect if we ever go back and bring more guests with us! After we unpacked Becky invited us upstairs for wine and cheese with the other guests. I thought that sort of thing only happened in movies! She gave us some great recommendations for places to go for dinner, and asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning. When we said we were flexible, she said warmly, "well that works for me, you don't need reservations here!" The next morning we had delicious, strong coffee, I had eggs with green peppers and onions with oat nut toast, and my boyfriend had stuffed French Toast, two huge slices of Italian bread glued together with fresh sliced strawberries and ricotta cheese. We even started the meal with two generous slices of banana cream cheese coffee cake, some of the moistest, sweetest start to breakfast that we have ever had. Later that afternoon, she invited us back up to the kitchen for tea, and, you guessed it, slices of the leftover cake. For our second day, she surprised us with souffle apple pancakes, a cross between an apple pie and a pancake, a delicious, buttery, crusty sweet and savory concoction made in a cast iron skillet. Not only that, but since we were the only guests that morning, we had to eat the entire sinful cylinder ourselves - oh well! We washed it down once more with plenty of delicious coffee and some of her homemade sausage that was made locally. The estate her house is on is simply gorgeous, and is adjacent to rolling green pastures where her horses live. While there is no horseback riding (bummer), you can walk up to the fence to see them grazing and take some breath taking pictures. Her dog, Milo, a Sheltie, is a delightful host's accomplice, who loves to play fetch and get petted. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend in the country at Becky's Bed and Breakfast, and cannot wait for next fall when we return.

It was kind of nice that they had three separate areas. The bar had a game area connected to it kinda loud then they had another dining room which I'm glad we didn't eat at although it was really kitschy with all the stuffed animals around. The people who worked there said it was all from family members that donated them. My mom and I I feel got a great deal. It was hamburgers, fries, and unlimited salad bar with unlimited shrimp all for under 20 bucks per person. The burger was amazing done perfectly and it's from the cattle behind the restaurant. The fries were fresh cut, and were from her uncle's farm. They were cooked to perfection nice and crispy. The salad bar was really amazing. It had lots of choices and lots of toppings. It seemed that they kept up with messes from that dressings that might've spilt over. The shrimp is on ice not in ice. They even had a bit of dessert of ambrosia on the salad bar. It was an overall great experience. I wish I lived in the area to go back and enjoy a great hamburger. Also, you know that I'm a water snob and their water was great.

I've had lots of bad experiences with inns and Airbnb listings in the Catskills…read more The Redwood Inn was hands down the only place I've stayed at that was clean, well thought out, modern, and fully functional. The view of the patio in the back is really nice. The fixtures and furnishings in the room aren't cheap, rickety and outdated, unlike what you would find at any of the big name lodgings nearby. The main thing that might bother some people is the train nearby. I did hear it at night while I was sleeping. However it wasn't bad enough to ruin my night's sleep. Pat and Sandy who own the inn are very friendly and helpful. Raquel, who maintains and operates the inn is very responsive and professional. Also they don't list prices on their website but they are on par with the rates in the area (all hotels have different rates for rooms, seasons, stay durations, etc.). You are getting a decent to good value for your money. Stay here instead of the other big name chains in the area or the unregulated Airbnbs that are always a gamble.

The character at this place is off the charts! It definitely has a vintage appeal, but I am talking authentic vintage like the chairs may have been used by the builder back in 1790! These guys haven't been sourcing vintage items on eBay to outfit the place and when you meet the crew that runs it you will understand what I mean. They are working around the clock to cook breakfasts, clean rooms, mix drinks and prep dinner. For the price I found it to be an amazing experience! The room was extremely cozy, the bar was welcoming, and somehow they kept the carpets clean all weekend despite salt, sand, and snow the whole time we were there. Abby was so kind and handled our every request from Breakfast to bar to the Saturday night Buffet dinner which was incredible!!! The whole town shows up on Saturday nights for it and I understand why! The bread pudding alone is worth the price of admission which is pennies!! They offer discount lift tickets at Belleayre and it was a short drive to Phoenicia, the Peek-a-moose restaurant (highly recommend), and literally 1.5 miles to Belleayre.
