But Motels exist for functional & affordable overnight stays. (if you're looking for something grand and pretty go book a hotel room for 2-3x the price lol) More detail: Me and two friends stayed here 7/19/2026, during a week with wildfires, thunderstorms, & tornado warnings that had most of the other motels+hotels fully booked up. This place was definitely the cheapest option in the area, so we weren't expecting much since you usually wind up getting what you pay for. Plus, we were a bit hesitant to book a room in the first place because some of the recent reviews on here were a bit negative... ****BUT-!! I'm happy to say that this place was cheap, AND perfect for the night !! It was tidy, the beds were comfy + clean, & there was no "bad smells" in the room we wound up booking. So about the motel/service: -Their 24 hour service is no joke, We called ahead around midnight and our call was answered right away! (Unlike most of the other places in the area...) -After arriving around 1AM-ish, we called again and were greeted shortly after. The price was confirmed to be the same as they had said on our earlier call, ~140$ for the night for a party of three adults. -We were looking for one room with two beds, and he gave us two choices (He even led us to open & check out an available room we were interested in before booking). -Very friendly owner/worker (not sure which he was lol). He was flexible/generous with the checkout time as well. After booking around 1AM, we asked when we'd need to check out and he said, "Ehhh... Before 3pm should be alright? That way you guys can sleep in, you'll need it haha." About the room we booked: -I believe we wound up staying in room 7 on the front side of the motel. -The room was a decent size, with: Free wifi, 1 king & 1 twin bed, a TV, an in-wall AC unit, a small minifridge & microwave, coffee maker, two lamps (1 bedside table lamp + 1 full lamp), a desk space area with 2 chairs opposite to the beds, & a sink + mirror in the back of the room just outside the bathroom door. ^[All of these are somewhat visible in the attached picture] About the bathroom inside our room: -The bathroom was a bit tight inside, but i didnt mind it. The sink was outside, a sacrifice made to make space inside for the toilet + a full bathtub with a shower head. -The shower had great water pressure, an adjustable+detachable shower head, and hot water that STAYED hot for an admittedly drawn out ~1.5hr shower. (That shower & clean water was HEAVENLY after staying for a week in a distant mountain cabin with no AC and foul sulfur-smelling water lol.)

The room was clean, and the beds had warm comforters on them with comfortable mattresses. There were lots of books and magazines available in case you didn't want to watch TV - or if a sudden change in the weather altered your original outdoor plans. The list of local 'things to do' included my favorite - pet the motel's beautiful and sweet resident Golden Lab, Chuck. Teresa and the rest of the staff were extremely pleasant and attentive to customer needs and comfort. Our windows overlooked the Beaverkill River, a very pretty scene to wake up to. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Roscoe. Note: This isn't a complaint, just a 'heads up' to seniors or handicapped individuals: the step up into our room was much higher than usual, so if you have severe leg/knee problems it's possible you couldn't get into the room. We always carry a step riser (you can get one online) for when we run into this kind of situation.

Don't get me wrong, we still do day-trips to relive our many years we've vacationed there. And because Woodstock has been cramped, hubs decided to come up further out west to the sticks- without the snobbiness. We also got away for other reasons: my mid-winter recess from school and because my husband was a Navy man for umpteen years- where there's history and water, he's there. Green Acres Retreat made the cut for its style and close proximity to the Delaware River. Plus Green Acres R shifted from an old-fashioned motel to one that offers charm in spades since their '20 renovation. With 10 (I think) curated rooms, ours, was bold (for these parts) and extremely comfortable. From the crisp and plush white bedding, kitchenette, and walk-in shower- we were good. Green Acres' room designs lean towards nature with a tasteful feel. Be mindful that Rt17 is the main thoroughfare here- so you will hear 18-wheelers zoom by from your room. The heater made our room toasty- but the overhead vent layout was a bit off-putting. Towels were abundant, safe deposit box available as well as a mini fridge. The only negative for me was the plain mini wrapped soap bars for sink use and shower. And for these renovated rooms, offering classy mini toiletries add a wonderful sense of richness- which were missing here. And for $175 a night, the flimsy mini bar soaps weren't cutting it.

The additional $10 per day pay for a nice view spot is worth it. Our location is on the very top where we have a view of the mountain and the reservoir . This tiny cabin fits all the basic needs. Bed, kitchenette with cooking supplies , dining table, a small ref , stove top and toilet and shower with a view. A cute big window next to bed is the main attraction of the cabin. For two consecutive mornings, we stayed longer in bed and enjoyed the beautiful view from our window. During our nighttime stays , we truly enjoyed the campfire. Woods, starter and s'mores are supplied. I am still waiting if my credit card will be charged for these provisions . I read a review posted which was before Post Card Cabins was bought by Marriot that they hit a charge for these supplies plus for some snacks and drinks on the kitchen countertop . The Adirondack chairs outside are comfortable . The picnic table is perfect for a nice dining outdoor with a beautiful nature vibes. Our cabin area was so serene, we had a privacy as the next door cabin is hundred feet away from us. Western Catskills is a perfect location for us as our goal of coming here was to escape the city to relax and reset during the stay. If you have same goal, this kind of setting is recommended for you. This is your escape place.

We reserved the place just in time for the autumn peak season in the area. The place was about 2.5-3 hours drive from where we live, the trip itself was delightful due to the colorful leaves on trees that we passed by. The charming retreat was easy enough to find with the help of GPS. There were several tiny cabins in the compound which were designated with names so that guest could easily find them. Cabins are far enough from each other to provide privacy for each separate guest. Be sure to drive slow when in the compound as the ground was a little rough. Each cabin guest has a designated parking spot which is neat. The cabin that we were assigned to has several outdoor stairs, a short walk from the parking spot to the cabin, cabin is situated on top of a hill which gives guest a nice view from the cabin. Outside of each cabin, they provided a fire pit, picnic table, 2 lounge chairs and fire logs with fire starters. For us to get in to the cabin, they provided us with a code so that we can electronically unlock the door. The cabin was cute and tiny but they have provided all the essentials which included a comfortable queen's bed, small table, mini-refrigerator, a kitchenette, two burner stove, coffee supplies, kitchen utensils, paper towels, complimentary smores kit, coat hooks, toilet paper, towels, body wash, conditioner, shampoo, flushing toilet, hot shower and a few more. You won't believe that all of it could fit in that cute cabin. They kept the cabin tidy and clean. The best thing that I love in the cabin is the large picture window, my wife and I had that feeling where we sort of just wanted to stay in bed, cuddle and stare at the nature outside the large picture window. In summation, my wife and I had a wonderful time at this tiny cabin compound, we had a peaceful campfire each night that we stayed, savored the tranquility of the place, took pleasure in touring the small town of Roscoe, admired the nearby reservoir, found joy in hiking some nearby trails, appreciated finding/exploring covered bridges and had fun visiting a nearby brewery. Our overall experience was relaxing, peaceful and an exceptional escape from city life, with minimal-to-no Wi-Fi or TV, which encourages disconnection and quietude. DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY RECOMMENDABLE !!!
