Worst company. Show up and no one is there, I call and the guy is very unhelpful. I have to wait over an hour. After I read online that it is cash only, I call him back to ask how much I should take out of the ATM. He has no idea and can't even give me a ballpark estimate. After I pay he tells me my car is at a different lot 5 minutes down the road. When I get to that lot, the employee there is super rude and yells at me to get my car. When we couldn't get it out of the snow (even with 4 wheel drive) he is all pissed off and threatens to leave us there stranded. He finally towed us out but refused to even look at me. This company sucks! If your in an accident and the PD says they are calling Waltham Auto and Tow, ask for the other company the city has a contract with, they are extremely rude, take the long way when charging millage for any tow, and employees are inconsistent with the rules. I would advise anyone that is considering doing business with them to not. There's too many tow company's to get stuck with the worst one. My 80 year old mother had to use this organization and needs a copy of her receipt rom 6/24 she called on 6/30 and still on 8/4 has not received the receipt. Completely unprofessional! This place is a complete nightmare. Surprised they are still operating. Even more surprised they are affiliated with the Belmont Police!!! They changed the rates on us twice refusing to explain why. I asked him why he was giving me an attitude over the phone and wasn't helping or answering my questions, this is were he hung up! Last night I tragically popped two tires, requiring my car to be towed. While I know towing companies get low yelp scores because cmon WHO wants to be towed really? BUT the guy who picked up my car (in accompaniment with my road side assistance service) came before the ETA and was efficient. He was so nice, made me feel like my car was in safe hands. All said and done, my car was on the tow truck in less than 15 minutes and us on our way home. Thanks guys! read more

Horrible Service. Got hung up multiple time. My mother was stuck on the highway; crying, shaking. The State Cops was super helpful, and helped my mother and got this company to help my mother. This is where the problem starts. My mother thought she did not bring any money with her, so she ask if I (her son) can give the company my Credit Card number, and they decline, and hangs up. I eventually called back, asking if they can do anything, I'm willing to even pay more. They kept declining. Out of no where, my mother decide to check her wallet and found money which was enough, but they still decline her service. Completely utter non-sense. They even charged my mother $125 for 3 miles to their lot, to add salt to injury, they would put me on hold so they can get that extra addition occurring money, so they can get more cash out of my mother. Worst of the worst. Heartless. Straight up criminals! If I was in your position, I would have sympathy and do my best for the situation that had happened, but instead, you guys are money hungry. Tuesday March 6th I was in a car accident coming out of town hall in Belmont Center. A Belmont police officer called Waltham Auto Tow to tow my car, even after I said that I have AAA & would be calling them. The cop said AAA would take too long. Waltham Auto Tow showed up, I asked them to tow to my auto body shop attached to my mechanic. They said they would tow to their tow yard & our auto body could pick up from them. (I was shook up after a pretty traumatic crash & at this point thinking that I had to use this tow company & didn't realize I had the right to use who I wanted so long as my car wasn't impeding traffic or blocking a public way.) Our auto body doesn't have a tow truck, so I called Waltham Auto Tow at 10:45 to tow my car to my auto body. Waltham Auto Tow called my mechanic & told my mechanic that my mechanic wasn't an actual auto body & couldn't fix my car & they wouldn't be towing to my mechanic. (This is first of all not true & secondly, it doesn't matter because I asked him to tow it there 2 times at this point & he has no right to refuse to tow where I want my car to be towed). I am at work so could not intervene again until 4:30 when I once again called Waltham Auto Tow to tow my car to my mechanic. At 5:45 I called to make sure that my car had made it to my mechanic. They still hadn't towed it. I call Waltham Auto Tow right after & ask them why my car is not at my Auto body shop, they say that I called during rush hour & now they wouldn't be able to tow it tonight, even though their card says 24 hr tow & even though they never mentioned this when I called at 4:30. They held my car over night and refused to tow it when I had now asked them over 4 times to tow it to my Auto body shop because now after 6pm when my Auto body is closed they were demanding a check on the spot from my Auto body. I called my insurance to let them know about all of my difficulty with Waltham Auto Tow, I called the police to let them know, too. I am writing this to warn against Waltham Auto Tow & to encourage the police department to end their association with them. There are many, many yelp reviews that have very similar experiences to mine outlined about their incredibly shady business practices. If you happen to have a similar experience, I urge you to contact the police to let them know, too. read more

They do not call back their potential customers. I stopped by to price a part for my car. The Automechanics told me to look @ an auto park lot for the part. Then I left a number for someone to return my call for a price check. No one called me back. I went somewhere else. read more

Awful service. Needed to pickup a car that had been towed and they wouldn't let me authorize someone else to pick it up (incredibly rude and didn't provide any justification for this). Also when I got there they decided to THEN let me know it was cash only (he claimed he had told me over the phone but as someone who literally never carries cash around, I certainly would have remembered that). They definitely have card machines considering they do hundreds/thousands of dollars worth of mechanical work, not sure why it's so difficult to use that for a tow fee. Anyway. My car was also at their "other lot down the street" and "the guy would meet me down there" to get it out which took about 15 minutes for him to show up (maybe he got some coffee on the way idk), and that guy was actually less rude. But the overall experience took way longer than necessary and they made 0 effort to provide even below average customer service. I'd recommend Ramsey's instead, I don't think any of these joints are perfect but I had a much better customer service experience over there. read more

I had my car towed by them. As far as a bad situation goes... they were quite easy to deal with. Reasonable prices as well.

Completely awful service. They came to jump my car And didn't even bring jumper cables. They charge $90 for a terrible service. The guy could barely speak English and tried to tell us that our car was the problem and not our battery which it clearly was. When I called to tell them that their guy didn't know what he was doing they hung up on me. Complete scam. read more

Unreal! Tow guy will bring it there if no other local place is suggested, and "isn't allowed to recommend a local mechanic". After the tow there, "storage" for 2 hours, and the 1 mile tow to an actual mechanic it came to over $200. Criminal indeed! read more

This place is an absolute eyesore, both the people and the building. It is like a pack rat's nest inside there, with garbage all over. Looks worse than a place a group of homeless people would live. They charge exorbitant prices for their lousy business. $229 after they had my car in their lot for a day and a half. I was charged for a day when a foot of snow fell on Boston and the roads weren't safe enough for me to retrieve my vehicle. When I walk through the door, the first thing I read is "American Express Cards Welcome". It opens up into this weird garage with heaps of rubbish pretty much everywhere. I see a guy. He sees me. No greeting. No telling me where exactly I need to go to pay and get my car out. I awkwardly stand for a minute or two more. The guy finally has to stop ignoring me and tells me to wait outside this funny looking office (Can it be called an office?). I wait for 20 minutes in this disgusting excuse for an autoshop while the family ahead of me is left waiting there, receiving no attention. I can tell they've been waiting for awhile already. Finally a man comes back. The family gets their keys and leaves. I approach the counter and ask for my car, offering the American Express card. "'The Guy' no longer takes American Express", the man says. No explanation when I mention to him that they have a big American Express logo plastered on their entrance, just the same stupid line again. I leave the counter. It takes me awhile to get the funds transferred onto a Visa card. I come back. I pay. He leaves for 20 minutes. Why? No apparent reason. He finally leads me to my car. Then he lifts this snow scraper from out of nowhere and says to "go and use this to take off the snow". For $229 I'm digging my car out of a mountain of snow, wading in it up to my thighs. I feel ridiculous. End of story. If you are unlucky enough to get into a 4 car accident on I-95 S somewhere in the stretch between Lincoln and Walpole, the Mass State Police will send your car to their dumpster of choice: Waltham Auto Tow. read more
