I had a nice time touring Walt Disney Studios. It was something that I have always wanted to do. I come from a family of Disney fanatics and grew up watching all of the classic Disney movies. Walt Disney Studios is the largest film studio in Hollywood and the fifth-oldest in the United States. This 51-acre lot in Burbank is the corporate headquarters for the Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney Studios has prominent film production companies that include Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Studios. This campus and the Disney animated movie making process were featured in the 1941 film "The Reluctant Dragon". I tried to do this tour before the Covid fiasco, but they cancelled all touring for a couple years after the pandemic. When I recently became a D23 member, I got an offer from them to check out this tour after they brought them back. Of course my crazy Disney family members were jealous of me. I had a fun time exploring the place where so many of the great Disney movies were produced and made. The tour lasted a few hours and we were able to shop at the Disney store located on the premises after the tour. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was the first feature-length animated film for Walt Disney in 1934. The success of that movie financed the construction of this studio lot. The tour included seeing many of the soundstages, the Disney Legends Plaza (honoring those who have made a significant impact on the Disney legacy), the Team Disney Building, the Frank G. Wells Building and the original Animation Building where many of the classic animated movies were made. We even got up close to the iconic Disney water tower. My favorite part of the tour was seeing Walt Disney's original office and being able to hold one of his many Oscar awards. Going on this tour is a must for any Disney fan if you want to see where Disney magic is made. I really enjoyed my relaxing afternoon here at Disney Studios. read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All visitors are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. There are no hand sanitizers available for visitors to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between visitors. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big, but I was warned by a friend that getting out of the lot can be a massive headache, so he told me to park on the street and walk over. I am glad I listened to him. I did take a look at the parking lot, and the lot is big. Each parking spot looks pretty massive. The lot does get full very quickly, so I am sure glad that I parked on the street and walked over. As always, read the signs carefully when parking on the street. Establishment: The establishment itself is very massive, cute, neat, and tidy. I got a short tour of a sound stage, which basically served as a mini Avatar museum. The exhibit was very well curated and organized. It was so cool to see Deborah Lynn Scott's costume designs in person. I was so mind blown. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, welcoming, polite, professional, and courteous. Overall Experience: Holy smokes! This was totally THE highlight of my year. Meeting James Cameron, checking out the Avatar Exhibit, and attending a private screening of Avatar: Fire and Ash was such a surreal experience. Ben, if you are reading this, you are such an amazing friend. I truly am so grateful for you. You made my year. It has been several days now after the event, and I still feel like I am on cloud 9. Thank you so much again for making my dream a reality. I am so glad we met through our shared hobby of autograph collecting. May we stay friends forever. read more

We really enjoyed the Walking Tour! There were soo many amazing things to see, and we learned a lot of very interesting "Disney" information & stories. Not to mention all the great photo opps!! Also, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! The only regret we had was that the time allotted to shop in the Studio Store was rather short...I had wanted to purchase soo much more, but ran out of time to really look at everything. However, with that being said...I did have some great buys!! Maybe next time! We would highly recommend this Studio Tour! Despite it being a bit pricey, it's well worth it if you're a big Disney Fan! **December 2025: Saturday Night and Sunday Afternoon Visit** I've been to the Studio Lot on at least 5 or so occasions and always have a great time. I've done at least two movie screenings here, shopped at their Disney store, completed at least 2 campus tours, eaten in their employee cafeteria, and also participated in their different D23 events. The campus is always very clean and pristine, and the staff is also polite, enthusiastic, and helpful. It's always cool to see the Walt Disney Water tower and walk by all the animation buildings. Most of the time when I come to lot it's for a paid experience (usually through D23). As a Disney adult it's a great venue and I look forward to making more magical memories here in the future! read more

I haven't been here for a studio tour yet, but I attended their D23 Holiday Event and it was so fun! I totally recommend it if you ever have the chance to go. You get the Disney experience without actually being at Disneyland. My kids saw and took pics with more characters than they did when we last went to Disneyland. We got pics with Goofy, Donald, Jack Skellington, Chip & Dale, AND Santa. The lines for Mickey & Minnie were the longest of course and we missed out on pics with them. They had lots of freebies which I was kind of surprised to get. We got light up ears, light up Mickey necklaces, light up wands, Tiana ornaments, Hulu branded shoelaces, and Lorcana trading cards. Oh and parking was FREE! They also had water stations, candied/caramel apples, hot chocolate, balloons, and other activities everyone could enjoy (included with the entrance fee). Yes, it does get crowded but if you give yourself enough time and plan out your visit, you can do almost everything. Almost. We prioritized character pics. We did miss out on shopping. If we got there earlier we could have shopped first. The event is only a few hours so make sure you get there when it starts. TLDR: So fun. Definitely go if you love Disney. read more

As far as I know, you have to know an employee to access the Lot... My friend Ben worked for Disney (until very recently) and was nice enough to let us in a few times. It's fun to walk around and experience the magic. I'd suggest the 7 Dwarves Plaza with plaques of famous directors, actors, Imagineers - all contributors to the Disney legacy. I'd also recommend the Studio Store & Cafeteria - Walt's Chili and delicious made-to order sandwiches. It's a unique experience and happy to have been able to partake! read more

A great tour guide makes all the difference, and Haydee's passion for all things Disney came across as not just enthusiastic but deeply well-versed in facts we weren't aware of that aren't commonly published. In particular, she helped us understand the value of historical preservation and archival, and how some things had changed a lot over time while others remained constant. She communicated clearly throughout the whole thing, keeping it brisk but never overly rushed. Haydee was also very observant and added lore and context to details we noticed, like the squirrels in the park. The history was amazing, the trivia was interesting and challenge find and the ability to interact and engage in cool places, spaces and ways was phenomenal! Finally got to do a D23 tour and it was a great experience overall. This is honestly perfect for any Disney fan, but I feel even more so for the Disney fan history buffs. The tour started promptly on time and was 2.5 hours. Our tour guide was Jon, he was extremely personable and knowledgeable. There were 2 scheduled photo opportunities during the tour, but of course you were allowed to take plenty of pictures the entire time. Definitely be prepared to do a lot of walking and stopping, there aren't too many opportunities to sit throughout the tour. It was really fun going through some of the buildings, learning all of the fun facts, and hearing behind the scenes information. Of course, the most exciting part of the tour was being in Walt's office. As other reviews have stated, it was very surreal and emotional. Once the tour is over, you have the opportunity to shop at the studio store and employee center. I had a great time and am definitely excited to come back with friends/family. What is there not to love about the iconic Disney lot? I was lucky enough to be able to go to the Walt Disney lot in Burbank for the first time last week. What an incredible experience. There's so much history, just walking around feels like you're walking through a museum. But also, it's the nicest studio lot I've ever been on. It is the most well-kept, the lot itself is immaculate, and everything looks nice and works and feels nice. The buildings themselves are also really lovely, especially when you see the giant oedipus's of the seven dwarfs holding up the buildings. It's just really cool, and it's a nice place for movie history. Would definitely recommend stopping by and doing the studio tour if you get the chance, it's well worth the visit. read more

They cut their shows for adults, saying to wait 10 hours for a parade at 8:30, saying to email Josh DeMarro, the CEO. the employees are not happy. they are focused on kids and forgot that adults have the money. Don't go expecting Mary Poppins or anything about being a better person. Just bring your credit card and be ready to use it. I feel so honored that I got to do the Disney Studio Tour. I'm a Disney Geek, as I like to call it. But really, I'm more of a freak - totally obsessed. And this tour was the best studio I've ever done! My less Disney-fied friend said he enjoyed it but wasn't as over the moon as I was. But if you are a Disney person, and have a good guide, it's life changing. Our guide was Jonny and I can't gush enough. He knew everything Disney. I thought my knowledge was good but I pale in comparison. There was someone with special needs in our group and he was so patient, answering every question he had. The tour is typically 1.5-2 hours and we were on the tour for a bit over 3 hours! So many questions and comments, but Jonny handled it all with grace saying kind things to the guy and engaging with him. I don't want to ruin all the details for you, but it was so interesting and cool to be where so many cool Disney things happened. You do get to go into Walt's office which is exactly as he left it! Even the books have never been touched so you'll see that all the bindings are not nicely lined up. I actually had tears come to my eyes being a room where so much magic happened. It was all SO cool. They have a huge parking lot and you get so much attention as the groups are only 8 people. You have to be a part of D23 to get access to the tour, so join and go!!! The wonderful world of Disney wouldn't be Disney without the magic of Walt Disney Studios. Located in the lull of Burbank just off the 134 (fwy) encompassing Buena Vista Street & Alameda Avenue you can enjoy tours, screenings, concerts and history both from motion pictures and television in all its forms. I've been lucky enough to set foot out this historic site many times but most recently for a special screening of The Creator w/ my partner Diego who is a current member of the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Before than, it had been a few years back (in my film school and post film school days) since I'd graced the lot. For the screening you had the option of driving in and being guided to parking or rideshare. For rideshare drop off (as well as pick up) - you're near the side walk-up gate near the main gate. A security attendant will guide you where you need to go. Being such a huge piece of property (51 acres) housing sound stags, offices, greenery, scenery, quantity, quality and a back lot you'll definitely have a lot to take in. D23 (Disney Fan Club) premium members can sign up for tours a few times a year, employees (their significant others, families, etc) and I believe AMPAS members have this luxury as well. read more

*Review of the studio tour* I'm a casual Disney fan but my sister, who's a big Disney fan, really wanted to go on the tour but not by herself. I ended up accompanying her (she paid for my ticket so why not? lol). Pretty organized tour with a little bit of everything. Huge props to the tour guide as she was super informative even giving relevant tidbits based on her own experience of working in the film industry for many years. My sister and other guests in the same group were in awe from beginning to end. For me, I was fascinated during the majority of the tour but I was beginning to tap out especially in the last 30 minutes lol (the tour is approximately 2 hours long). An exhibit-style walking tour for the most part. Would've been cool to have inside access to the studio lot sound stage rooms but proprietary reasons forbade it I'm guessing. Overall I'll say that this is a great tour if you have prospects of working here or simply seek the exclusive opportunity of walking around the studio campus (under supervision of course) while learning its bountiful history. read more

Our tour guide was AMAZING. He was very knowledgable of the Disney Hxstory + more. He made the tour exciting and 100% worth it. The highlight of this tour IS OF COURSE seeing Walt Disney's Office!!! BUT just being on the grounds where all of my favorite Disney Classics, Characters, ETC. were created and being able to learn of how/ where, was truly a satisfying feeling for my Disney loving heart. My sister really wanted to go on the Walt Disney studio tour back in Fall 2022. So she purchased the D23 Duo Gold membership so she could have a better chance of booking a studio tour once the new dates came out for Nov and Dec. I like Disney. However, I'm not the kind of person who would willingly shell out a lot of money for a Disney experience. But because she really wanted to tour Disney studios, I went along as her companion. The entire studio tour lasted about 2 hours. Our guide was really nice and courteous :) ! But because the studio lot is pretty small, I felt like there wasn't a whole lot to see. The highlights are mainly Walt Disney's office and Pluto's Corner. The employees were setting up props outside for "Beauty and the Beast" live. We also got to hold one of the 20+ Oscars that Walt Disney won in his lifetime :D ! A real Oscar is pretty heavy! At least for our small hands! But other than that, I personally didn't feel like it was worth the money we paid for the tour. Even with D23 membership, there wasn't a huge discount for the studio tour tickets and we still had to pay about $99 per person, which I think is pretty steep for a super simplistic and "no frills" studio tour. For what we actually saw, i felt like it really should have been 1/3 or 1/2 the price we paid. They do hand out collector pins at the end of the tour though :) ! I just went on the Warner Bros classic studio tour earlier this month and found it to be SO much better, much more reasonably priced, and a LOT more to see :) ! I would recommend saving your money for that studio tour instead ;) ! read more

Came here through D23, personal tour of the lot basically with only two of us in the tour group. Having toured WB and Universal, there were some expectations and, while some things exceeded then, others did not. The tour itself is a tour of, mostly, the entire lot, but is done in a way that takes you through the animation process. You're taken to student buildings on the lot, from where inking to and cells were created, to drawing and concept, to the animation itself. You're taught how the original animation was created, how much time and legit it went into creating seconds worth of film, and the history of the different films. You learn about the origins of Disney itself, the original studios, ideas for the theme parks, as well as a trip to Walt's office. Later in the tour you pass by the different stages and get an idea of what was filmed in each one. At the end of the tour, you're let loose into the Disney store and the employee store where you get the employee prices for that day. It would have been fun to walk the sets, if they were available, like you can at some of the other kits, but that wasn't available with the tour. Got to check out the D23 100th Anniversary tour two weeks ago. It was a walking tour, and lasted for a little over 2 hours. I went solo, as the ticket was a bit pricey ($166), plus my husband is not as into Disney as I am. Our tour guy John was great. Apparently he was an actor, but his overall energy and personality made the tour extra fun. Although we did not get to go into any of the sound stages or prop rooms, we got a history lesson on the studio and Walt Disney's evolution in animation. It was great to see and learn about the studio's history, and although I was hoping to get to sit on Walt Disney's actual chair, we were not able to as the furniture was behind the rope. We are huge fans of Disney, always has been but there is nothing more magical than being able to hang out and attend a special event on the grounds of Walt Disney Studios. We've been for holiday events, our latest was for the Halloween event. It was so amazing to be able to watch shorts in the Disney theater and party with the employees. The day was filled with candy, popcorn, cider, and shopping in the employee store (an extra special place to pick up special gifts for the family that you just can't get elsewhere). The vibe was awesome and so much to do and the employees working the event had their hands full but were always smiling and just overall great. There is always something magical when it comes to Disney and their events and they make you feel like family. read more

This is the Mecca of all things Disney. If you want to go to the origins, come take a visit and sign up for one of their wonderful studio tours. The tours are awesome in that they take you around the entire studio lot showing you were the magic happens. They also have a tour that takes you to Walt's office, which was designed to look and remain exactly how Walt Disney had it. You can see all the small statues he had, the blueprints and pictures that would form DIsneyland and Walt Disney World, and even get to see certain things that inspired attractions around the park. The tour will also take you to the archives where you can take a picture with a real life Oscars award. My favorite part of the tour is getting to see the sound stages where they are still putting on productions to this day. Being a Disney fan isnt cheap. Going behind the scenes of some of the magic isnt cheap either. But if you're a big Disney fan like I am, totally check it out. read more

This was a wonderful treat! As long as I've been a D23 member, I never downloaded the app and knew all the things we can attend! This was the 1st event since the pandemic and it was such a wonderful treat to go to the Walt Disney Studios, walk around, shop, and see the 50th anniversary of Bedknobs and Broomsticks. The Studio spoiled us with the absolute best popcorn I've ever had at a theater and that included the fancy Dasani water bottles. :) Me and my daughter walked along Mickey Avenue and Dopey Drive where Walt's beautiful children would ride their bikes and enjoy Sunday's when there weren't any employees there. It was just serene. It meant so much to us because they don't give tours at the Studios to the general public, so it surely was special! The seats were so velvety and comfy and they even rock! All the employees treated us respectfully and gave us individual attention; something that was very important to Walt. I'm happy to see it's still an important aspect to their customer service. If you're not a member of the D23 club, I would invite you to join, and you can even join for free! And, you'll even meet some fellow Disney Peeps! read more

Joined D23 this year as I heard they were doing Walt Disney Studios tours again - the first year since the pandemic. I signed us up for the D23 Studio Tour as my birthday gift to myself this year! Our guide was Linda and she was fantastic. During our initial "getting to know you" that she did with our group, I let her know that I was former WDW cast from the Main St/Adv Ops team and had been jonesing to take a studio tour at Disney since our adventures at Warner and Paramount after our move to Southern California. Disney does not take you inside any soundstages or sets like the Paramount VIP Tour, but they do take you all around the studio lot, inside an exhibit by the Archives, exhibits on all three floors plus the basement of the old Animation building, Legends Plaza and the grand prize - walking through Walt's office. I have to admit, as a former cast member from the old days (79-85) being in Walt's office brought a little moisture to my eyes. Linda gave us plenty of time in all the spaces to take photos and just take everything in plus she was super-informative and entertaining. We finished up at the Studio Store which has a lot of merch that you can only get at the Studios - I scored three new t-shirts: Walt Disney Studios, D23 Gold Member and Disney 100 (none of which are on ShopDisney or at World of Disney in Downtown). I get to come here every now and then and partake in movie screenings. Usually, its a weekend and they have hard security at the gate. Most of the studios are blocked off so you can't really wander around the lot and stuff. Everyone is really nice and friendly, just like what you would expect of Disney. The big building with the dwarves holding it up, cute! People love taking pics in front of that. Their screening theater is really nice too. Lots of cool lights, with comfortable and clean seats. For this particular screening they did this quick light show in the beginning before opening the screen. That was cool. I've also been here where they run a small red carpet with the movie backdrop for you to take pics at. Thanks for making this screening possible PGA and Disney! read more

Disney's happiest place on earth may be in Orlando or Anaheim, but Burbank CA is where all the MAGIC happens! Not far from the glitz & glamour of Hollywood (located on Buena Vista St. & W. Alameda Ave.), Disney has a working movie studio where a handful of live action productions are still filmed on its soundstages and backlot. We stopped by to visit a friend/employee, shop in the cast member store, and grab lunch in the commissary during a recent trip to California. It was so much fun to play tourist for the day! Doesn't matter how many times I walk the lot, I'm always in awe of its history & creative legacy. Back in the 90's, when I was an employee, you could stroll down Mickey Avenue and see Roy Disney, Tim Allen, Lenard Nimoy, or a variety of celebs. Although celebrities are more rare these days, the lot is still rich with history. From the Mickey heads on the front gate, the old Animation building lined with storyboards, the dwarves atop the Team Disney building, all the way to the statues and handprints in Legends Plaza...there is history everywhere. Unlike Universal Studios and Warner Bros., Disney unfortunately doesn't offer public tours on a regular basis with the exception of a couple of tours a year for gold membership D23 fans. So whether you are a local or tourist, if you ever get the opportunity, I highly recommend it! read more

He had award winning architect and neighbor, Kem Webber, design the unique H style buildings and made it a beautiful place to be. Now when you visit the campus you get a sense of community. There are lawns, trees shade the place, whimsical details are added to the architecture, and the place is abuzz with exciting new adventures. You'll see the Seven Dwarfs holding up the roof for the Team Disney building. Perhaps some famous celebrities schmoozing it next to the Partners Statue. Even me if you're so lucky in the summer. The commissary also has amazing food and contains one of Walt's favorite foods: his chili and beans. Though visiting is restricted if you ever get a chance to this a place you'll definitely want to say yes to. Not many places have such legacy and continue to grow throughout the years. I absolutely loved the studio tour I took this Saturday! This was my first D23 event so first and foremost I want to thank the D23 team for hosting the event for us! I'm going to use a more reserved tone because this experience is skewed towards a more mature Disney audience. I'll put on my nice slacks, button up my sweater vest and act like I'm an adult for a second. I'll add that if you're a fan of history or technical achievements, this is a tour worth noting. There are different levels of fandom or interest in the Disney Corporation. I found that this tour would satisfy a fan at any level. Our visit started with an easy check in process followed by some basic refreshments and a short video of what we might expect to see during our visit. We sat in a conference room that we later learned was a major part of the companies history or roots. Our tour started outside. We walked through and around a large portion of the still functioning studio. We learned about daily goings on within the buildings we toured. Equally important was the design and layout of the studio itself. We learn that its layout or design principals still serve as a model or inspiration to production houses and general offices in order to maximize productivity. He said "something, something, something...workflow and streamlining and exposure to natural light." I mention the pevious statement because it was one of dozens of facts I learned about how innovative the Disney team was. There's a long list of innovative facts. Robotics, industrial design, transportation and so many other sciences were influenced and in some cases invented at these very facilities. News flash, there's more to it than just drawing a mouse and a duck! The last half of the tour took us indoors through the belly and at some point even under belly of the machine. We caught up with the archives department where we were privy to some incredibly rare artifacts and learned about the gathering of information and how it's catalogued. The tour continued through Walt's office as it's preserved to original specifications down to the smallest detail. As you make your way back towards the end of the tour, you're given a couple of great photo opps for you and your guests. Finally, you get dropped off at the Studio Store where you get to buy exclusive gear so you can share your experience through the commemorative art of pins and T Shirts. Conclusion? If you're not bored to tears by my description of the tour at this point, it's for you! You have to both be a D23 Gold member and willing to pony up the fare for the membership and the tour at this point in your decision making process. There's no rides here or animatronic presidents, so you should expect a different type of Disney experience. I would state it as unique to Disney fandom as a park or another event. This is an intimate look into The Walt Disney company, the legacy they built and the inspiration that they still draw from. I had a great time! I'm trying to describe the tour without getting too specific. But if I were to use a word to describe the vibe of the experience, I would use the word reverential. It's a homage. read more

Walt Disney Studios - Video/Film Production Near Me - Burbank, California

I visited the Walt Disney Studios for a special school field trip, and my experience was absolutely amazing. First of all, compared to other parts of L.A., the area where this studio is in Burbank is really nice. The whole surrounding area was really clean and looked well maintained. The inside facility was the same and it truly felt like a Disney studio. If you didn't know, this studio is used frequently for the filming of different Disney shows and productions. My school group and I watched the filming of the Nickelodeon show "All That". It took a long time for them to get set up, but once they started, we couldn't take our eyes off of the amazing, hilarious actors. Both the host and the actors made our experience so great and they kept us entertained the entire time. It was definitely a privilege to watch the special filming of this show and I'll never forget the great memories and having the chance to go with school friends. Walt Disney Studios is a unique place like no other studio and I recommend that you try to visit it! read more
