Great place for auditions. The readers are top tier which is important for your performance. The place is spacious, quiet, well lit, and the camera quality is above industry standard for an audition. I've booked a couple of times from tapes I've done with CloseUp Crew. The turnaround on your tape is very fast so you're not waiting all day to get your files and you it's not required that you bring your own memory stick. Pam also built a place where you can hang wardrobe and there's a restroom in the self tape room for you to do hair and makeup if necessary. I have my own setup at home and still prefer to go to CloseUp Crew because they make the process as effortless as possible on my part. I was so impressed with CloseUp Crew Productions! I went in for a Zoom audition. They have an awesome studio with separate spaces for self tapes, Zoom auditions, and headshot sessions. Loved our experience here yesterday! Pam is a powerhouse resource, just AMAZING, talking with us on the phone and helping set up all the pieces in place perfectly for a last minute, film audition for my daughter on Zoom. We loved the Zoom Room and it gave so much value to the audition in terms of lighting, sound, camera, and the ability to move around a lot more than you usually can on a Zoom. Getting the footage later to watch was a huge bonus, and we could all see how amazing the lighting and camera work was. Pam recommended Andrew Onochie as a coach to work with, and Andrew is BRILLIANT -- so well prepared, very sensitive and intuitive in his approach, fun-loving but totally committed, lots of great ideas for physical and prop work, really supportive, thoughtful, and inspired in his choices. I was very impressed with how well he helped craft and fine-tune the scene to make it pop and feel very real. So first off... I can't stand getting head shots done. I never end up liking them and I always feel like I look weird. Adam was SO much fun to work with. He knew what looked good, and gave me such easy direction that I couldn't possibly mess up. Every time he showed me the photo we just took, I loved it. The finished photo also looks just like the image on the camera. Sometimes they can vary with coloring, but I've honestly never looked better. I would 100% recommend and be going back!! Adam and Pam went above and beyond for me that day, and I felt important and the shoot felt important to them; I wasn't just a paycheck... I think that helped with my confidence. Really love self taping here. Here is why 1. Great gear all around. Great light. Great sound. Tapes look absolutely high quality amazing! 2. It's easy to book appointments via their online link. 3. Professional readers. I've taped comedy and drama auditions here and both times the reader has been fantastic. They will even ask if you prefer a male or female reader which can be helpful depending on the material. They are also great about not being too fancy with their performance so it won't take away from your audition. 4. Quick turn around. I usually get my audition back from them within 30 mins. 5. I've gone to this studio twice now for self-tapes and both times have been exceptional experiences. Both readers -- Johnny and Alyssa -- were engaged and gave me lots to work with as an actor. They were present, fluid, connected to the material and to me. As actors know, it is essential to have those elements. Beyond that, Pam (the owner of the studio) was kind, hospitable, and even let me go in the room early to get acquainted and set up my props. Even gave me some powder because I had a shiny forehead! The quality of the video and the audio were both high each time. Not sure what their equipment is, but it's definitely better than my iPhone and home lighting set up. They also sent me my download link plenty early before my due time. Bonus: they also honored my request for a female reader. Nice to have gender appropriate readers for the respective characters in your scene. I will absolutely return to CloseUp Crew for future auditions. They're top notch all around with great people running the joint! read more
