We have a month-old baby and did our newborn photoshoot with Janice about two weeks ago! BACKGROUND: I completely forgot about newborn photography in general during my pregnancy and was low-key panicking once our baby was almost two weeks old, thinking we were going to miss out on formally capturing this short period of her infancy. This led me to searching around for local photographers through Facebook and Yelp that could fit us in so last-minute since best practices are that you book in advance of your delivery date. I was also pretty selective on what style we wanted -- a lot of newborn galleries I saw had the very "stylized" w/props concept which isn't for me since it didn't seem as natural. I found Janice's listing on Yelp and really liked what I saw in her gallery and reached out. COMMUNICATION: Janice was one of the only photographers who actually responded to my inquiry (I reached out to a handful at the same time). She also was able to fit us in only a few days later, and I was thrilled to accept ASAP given she was really our first choice - so happy! She was very responsive and clear in her instructions to prep us for the shoot, in addition to after when we received our photos in terms of how the online access and downloading worked. PRICING: Thought Janice had very fair pricing compared to another quote I did see for what was an in-studio luxury shoot concept - but otherwise I don't have any other quotes to reference. We opted to upgrade for an additional fee for access to the full gallery instead of the fixed quantity included in our quote given this is our first-born and we didn't want to have to pick and choose. DEMEANOR: Janice was extremely professional yet kind and approachable - it was very comfortable having her in our home doing a shoot we've never done before. She handled our baby with tender care in swaddling and posing her. I would recommend Janice easily and book her again. read more

I needed a photographer last minute for our family shoot. I contacted Janice via Yelp and she was very responsive. We got everything settled in 2 days despite it being Thanksgiving week. On site, she was very patient and accomodating. We had 11 people. 5 little grandkids (including a 3 week newborn), a set of grandparents, and 2 sets of parents. Imagine trying to direct everyone and capture the best shots. What a challenge. She was so friendly and easy going. I've hired some photographers in my life and some were intimidating. And you can tell the results were very stiff and stressed. Janice was definitely the opposite. We told her some of our ideas and I felt like I was talking to a friend.
