Stephen's style is timeless. It's the classic look that I love. We got a video and photo package. It was by far the BEST DECISION EVER!! The process was easy. He's very thorough and pays attention to details. The photos were beyond amazing. On top of that he is very professional and friendly. The family loved him. From the start Stephen Tang was extremely professional, I found him on Yelp and checked out his work on Instagram. He was extremely prompt in replying when I reached out to him, provided additional samples of his work, and made himself available to discuss the types of shots we wanted beforehand as well as provide his expertise and guidance in framing beautiful photos. After my initial phone meeting with Stephen I knew he would be the perfect fit for our needs and my husband and I are extremely happy with the quality and caliber of his work. We had several phone meetings to discuss our needs, schedule for the day and to help Stephen understand us as a couple. On the day of our event he arrived before the allotted time, he arranged and set up the entire room, and added lighting and equipment before we arrived. Upon our arrival, he was cordial in greeting us, understand what we wanted and needed and did a temperature check. He made suggestions about where we should place things throughout the room to improve the shots. He was very knowledgeable with how and where we should pose for the perfect shot. He made us feel extremely relaxed even during the most stressful situations and helped to redirect family members to someone other than us to handle some hiccups for the night. We had the privilege of having Stephen photograph our entire wedding day! We could not be more happier with how the entire day was documented. Photography was one of the top vendors we prioritized our budget for. Each photo came out so great and I'm having a great time sharing them with family and friends. Stephen has wonderful communication, organization, and photography talents! - Planning: I found Stephen from Instagram and it so happened that he had worked with both our coordinator and venue previously. What attracted me first from his profile was his lighting/editing style - not too much overly exposed or brighten or romanticized photos. We not only preferred a more realistic color in our photos, but knew that our venue may not accommodate that bright style due to it being mainly indoors. Stephen took the initiative to set up a first meeting as well. We appreciated this as I know it's important for photographers and their clients to have good chemistry. We appreciated how straight forward Stephen was and how much his passion for capturing raw moments showed. It was clear that he shows that he likes to have fun while taking photographs and trying all kinds of ways of shooting, which was definitely demonstrated on the day of. Stephen was very organized and punctual from contracts to scheduling to communication. - Day of: Stephen was great during the wedding day! He was organized and made his own schedule with our coordinator's to be sure to get all requested and desired shots in during the day. He came so prepared with so many different poses in mind that there was never a moments where us and the wedding party never felt awkward or anything! Taking photos was fun and a very smooth and memorable process. I had the most fun taking pictures with my girls. I loved all the photos of the family, guests, and dancing as well. Stephen even took some time out during dancing to get some cool couple shots at night. I appreciated the film shots as well. Stephen took authority throughout the day and was so kind and accommodating. - Post-wedding: Stephen edits so quickly!! We got sneak peaks within a couple days. I wasn't sure how long all the photos would take and a few friends were saying theirs took 2-3 months! However, Stephen got an entire day's worth of photos to us in one month!!! My tango classmate once said that our instructor taught dance as if she were teaching math; the same could be said of Stephen's approach to photography. From planning to execution Stephen was on top of his game. Starting from the initial inquiry he provided thorough responses in an enthusiastic and timely manner. I could tell that he loves doing what he does and is very excited to talk about anything photography related. During the planning phase Stephen provided input on scheduling and location selection. We must have exchanged a dozen emails on this topic. We also put together a mood board that consisted of: shots that I was interested in from his prior work, colors, what I liked and didn't like about each sample photo. Stephen is an exceptional photographer. I love that his photographs aren't as washed out or overly bridal bright. I wanted photos that weren't just beautiful, but to have some richness and depth. Stephen checked all the boxes. Since my wedding was really an elopement + 1 guest, we had to be creative with a combination of wedding-esque and non-standard activities. On the day of, Stephen captured the candid moments beautifully, but he also directed us for some posed ones. Friends and family loved the photos we shared and commented on how natural we looked. I suddenly recalled Stephen's remarks during the session: "no 90 degree elbows" "too maternity" "keep it PG" Looking at the photos now I do appreciate Stephen's reminders because they really helped us look our best in these photos that we widely distribute. I can not express how much I appreciate Stephen's work for our wedding (but I'll give it a try). From the first time we met, I could tell he was exactly what I was looking for. He talked me through the pros and cons of various locations, and helped me think through the process of obtaining a license for photography. Stephen photographed my wedding in California in July, and he is talented, meticulous, and very easy to work with.
