They did not let us in early to park. We had to wait exactly at check in time. Friendly staff. Free parking, parking on the street but watch out for the signs for no parking at certain times. Free popcorn, water bottle q&a with artist who created zootopia2, able to watch zootopia 2 afterwards. Cute and useful giveaways at the end. They do not let outside drinks inside the theater so i had to toss my friends drink that i bought for her. :/ Got to meet another school that was also invited to the event. read more

Came here recently to attend a D23 Light Up the Season event on a Sunday night. Many booths of games for kids, we got some free cookies and hot cider. Came home with lots of mini stuffed animals. Kid did 2 holiday crafts and we left happy but chilly. We stayed for about 2 hours and glad we arrived early to get good parking in zorro lot. Don't think I'll be going to same festival again, one time is enough for me. read more

So fun and beautiful! I have been here for quite a few D23 events and dream about working here! Don't get me wrong, I am a nurse and love my job but if I had the opportunity to work here, I'd take it! It is so cool to be surrounded by Disney characters and I can even feel the magic walking through the studios on an empty day! Only Disney fans know what I mean! 11/21/19 Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a great movie even now.  The combination of toon animation with humans made this movie a classic. The way Bob Hoskins reacts off of Roger Rabbit is some of the funniest things I have see. Learning about the behind the scenes  take is even better. Take the scene where Hoskins character gets caught spying  by the gorilla.  After pissing off the gorilla by calling him a chimpanzee (Chimp for short), Hoskins gets manhandled and thrown out of the club into a pile of trash. The funny thing is watch the director call cut and having the actor do the throw scene over and over again until he was satisfied with the take.  My favorite interaction scene was when Roger handcuffs himself and Hoskins together. Roger could have gotten out of the cuffs at anytime, but didn't.  What makes it funnier is that Roger Rabbit's life was in danger and he still didn't take the situation as seriously as he should have. Judge Doom who is played by Christopher Loyd plays a psychotic no nonsense toon inside of human bodysuit. He has great ideas of improving the human world, but at the same time wanting to be the only toon in the world. Thus making him immortal. It wouldn't surprise me if he killed his lackies  once they served his purpose.   Villains have been known to do that. Then there is the introduction of the Lovely Lena Hyena who in this movie looks like Jessica Rabbit. There are other things I never thought about with this character, but I will get to that later. Hoskins is looking for Jessica Rabbit and follows her into Toontown. The mixture of computer animation and a live human is great. Seeing Mickey Mouse with Bugs Bunny is something I had never seen before until this movie came out. Daffy Duck and Donald Duck don't seem to get alone at all. According to a main character Marvin Acme who has a short on screen time, but plays an important roll says this.. "I love these guys, they never finish an act." I have never seen Daffy or Donald  in the same place at the same time until this movie. The amount of special permissions that were involved in the making of this movie must be high. Still this movie is a one of a kind. I wondered as a kid if they are ever going to make a sequel to this movie? Well today I saw there is sequel in the works, but only time will tell. Disney has made many other movies, but this is one of the best ones they made with the help of Warner Brothers and other parties. Great job gals and guys. read more

This really is where all the magic happens! I had no idea that this place existed, I like to refer to this place as a think tank for master pieces. Thanks to my alumni association, I had the opportunity to receive a personal tour, hear the CFO give updates, eat great food, and visit the employee gift store. Mickey and Minnie made an appearance, photo opps were available, but I snoozed. Even at this moment as I type this review, I'm still kicking myself... When I first stepped onto this campus, I felt as if I were on a college campus. Later the tour guide mentioned that the college-like atmosphere was on purpose as many scenes were filmed and Walt wanted to encourage free-flow thinking. Filming happens daily on the lot with everything on wheels, transitioning from 1 stage to another is a breeze. Security is tight, and for good reason! The other cool fact was the hospital next door, which you can see from the studio. Apparently, Walt died there. If I ever get another invite to visit again, I'll come back in a heartbeat! read more

I've been lucky enough to have been able to wander around most, if not all, of the major studio lots around Hollywood and L.A. but Disney anything is almost always the best. You just feel happy surrounded by the brand. Been here quite a few times for early movie screenings...the latest being Finding Nemo 3D. (sidenote: the new Pixar short is cute as hell!) It was held in the main movie theatre. The studio store is always fun to shop! Even the store hours aren't called store hours...they are "Magical Hours." Around the lot you'll see these throw-back old school bikes just sitting around. They are for staff to ride around to get from point A to point B. Cool! There's really neat artwork and displays all around decorating most hallways in the various buildings. read more

What's not to love about Walt Disney Animation Studios?!!! It's like my childhood is in one building made of the movies I loved and the ones that scared me. The studio is awesome! Open floor plans, lots of natural light. The storyboards from previous films line the halls which is so cool to see. There are statues and paintings of characters. Awards upon well-deserved awards for their successes. A friend of mine works here so it was great to have lunch with her, but also to get a tour from her perspective, see her office and the things she's worked on. It was awesome to have an up close look as to what she does as a storyboard artist and then where her drawings go next as the story/film is developed. The true magic of Hollywood is the dedication of those who work so hard to tell a great story!! read more

In short the Walt Disney Animation Studios is magical. Go behind the scenes and experience the magic of Disney and the attention to detail Walt Disney is known for. My family and i were fortunate enough to know one of the senior designers and had a very special and once in a lifetime privilege to experience the behind the scenes wonder of Disney Animation studios. There are a few sites that are no-picture zones which is understandable as much of what is inside is hush hush top secret to the public but there are a few areas where they allow pictures such as outside near a few of the landmarks such as their lovely cafeteria, the commons area between the older Disney Studios and the Animation Studios and the like. The security is pretty tight here so I would discourage trying to sneak in. The parking lot to the animation studios is several stories down and parking can usually be found on one of the very bottom floors which will take a while to get to. Follow direction way signs otherwise it is easy to get lost in the underground parking structure. There is also a nice Walt Disney archives area where you can see some of their older Disney design relics which is conveniently located next to a private Starbucks. Disney really takes care of their employees and it certainly shows. Kudos to Disney and 5 solid yelp stars for me! read more

It's also the happiest place on earth! I had a meeting at the Walt Disney Studios and it's always fun to see what's going on behind the scenes. First, the address "500 S. Buena Vista Street" is more than an entire city block of buildings and this place is HUGE! When I drove onto the lot to what I thought was the main gate (first entrance on S. Buena Vista), I was greeted by a super arrogant and nasty security guard, telling me that I first have to know where I'm going before he could instruct me on where to go. Hello - I'm a visitor and have no clue where I was going. I was lost! Isnt' that your job to help visitors? But he if checked the system, like the second security guard did, he would have known exactly where I was going and could have politely told me how to get there. Buddy, you have a fake police badge. Don't let it get to your head. Once I was past the nasty security guard, the happiness began! Everyone was super friendly in giving me directions on how to get where I was going. The place is under some major construction. The Disney employees looked really happy and cheerful! What a fun place to work! One of the main executive buildings had the Disney characters on the front pillars of the building. There is even a bronze statue of Walt Disney and Mickey that you can take a picture with. We ate lunch in the Commissary, which is their main lunch room. I love their salad bar because there is a good selection. Fixed prices for the small, medium, and large sized bowls. You don't have to worry about how heavy the items are! Roasted beets, mixed greens, chicken breast, diced ham, and many other really great choices! Delicious. I also got the fresh tomato bisque soup. Chunky and delicious. Yum! There is also a small Disney store on the property. Each time I go in there, there are always such happy Cast Members willing to assist you with your purchase. Tons of smiles everywhere and lots of new and fun products to purchase! Love it! read more

The Fantasia theater inside the studio is absolutely beautiful! :) After visiting a few movie studio lots, this is my ultimate favorite. :-) Everyone is nice and friendly here, unlike some of the other studios employees, example: Sony and Paramount Studios ;-o There's a gym for the employees, Starbucks, Movie theaters, etc. They don't do tours at this Studio, I was lucky I was able to bring my family and a friend in to visit the lot. The employees kitchen was a dream for those who doesn't eat at home.. lol. All different kind of pastries, drinks, and snacks! Their employees work long hours. This guy I ran into said his work hours this week was like 9am-9pm. I told him I wouldn't mind working his hours for the week if I had his job.. haha! This place has many events for d23 members and once for pin traders from disney soda fountain in hollywood, so ive been here for a couple of times now since my last review. The store at the studios is an average disney store with a small spot for walt disney studio exclusive merchandise. They also have a cast member store with the special landyard with a pin on it and cool merch with the walt disney studio brand. The cast member store is the one that has cool exclusive merch. Unfortunately, it is for cast members only. And i was able to go inside for a d23 event. read more

If you work for a Disney affiliate, you can use your badge to get in and park at the garage. We did that and walked around the campus some. Never get there on time to enjoy the commissary. But we do get to shop at the Disney store. They carry items you may not find in the Disney park. So get them fast. Once you are on campus, it is unlike any other work environment I've been to. They aren't as strict with badging in all over the place. I know it exists, but you have some freedom to enjoy the area. LOL, someone mentioned the large squirrels. I have to agree, I saw a huge squirrel just walking around. It seriously made me laugh just looking at him. Wish I had some food to keep up his weight issue. read more

Disclaimer: this review actually doesn't have that much to do with the whole Disney lot, but rather just one part of it! I had the amazing opportunity of getting to watch Demi Lovato's dress rehearsal at the Disney Lot a few weeks ago. The directions to get there were easy to follow and before I knew it I was there! Parking was free and abundant, which was awesome! The employees working the show were professional, orderly, and friendly. I stood in the front of the audience and noticed that there were a lot of Disney employees and executives watching the show with me and maybe 20 other fans. It was incredible how they built Demi's whole stage in one of the studios, but everything looked perfect. The bathrooms were easily accessible and clean. I had such a great time that night and it was an unbelievable experience. I hope that I can come back to the Walt Disney Studios some other time and actually explore! read more

Burbank is hotttt. And so are most of the good looking young people who I believe must be stars walking around here! Good looking people, active environment, and a great place to walk if you get too tired sitting in your office. I love working here! Did I mention the awesome buildings, commissary, car wash service, gas station, Disney store, Starbucks, gym, Disney archives, and other cool stuff? No? Well those things are there too. I'm going to miss working here and all the awesome places to go grab lunch that surround this place. With Warner Bros and Disney occupying most of the surrounding area, its not uncommon to see a bunch of corporate workers walking around the streets during lunchtime. Love the culture, love the food, and yeah...I get to be part of the Magic! WOOT. read more

Loving the Disney Magic! Came here to see the 101 Dalmatians viewing for the Diamond Edition Blu Ray release. It was a D23 members event and my friend that took me was one. It was an awesome overall experience. The staff there are super nice and down to earth. I got the chance to talk to the people that work there and they really look like they love what they do for a living. The viewing theater was clean and comfy. We received a wine glass that has etching of 101 Dalmatians logo as a gift. After the viewing, we were given the chance to shop on their Disney store that had some exclusive merchandise. It felt like a "take my money and i'll be happy" place. read more

AMAZING! The Disney lot is absolutely gorgeous...everyone is happy and smiling, from the security guards, to the Starbucks baristas, to the executives walking around. Seeing the Animation building was the highlight of my visit to the studio, but I also loved seeing the building being held up by the seven dwarfs. It was a truly magical place to visit! read more

Yelp asked me to do a review on this. Five stars! What's not to like about it? I am lucky enough to know somebody who has worked there straigtht out of highschool and into the animation department. He gave a few people and me a private tour about how cell animation were made and then over to the newer facility where they use computers. Love how they decorate the building according to the project that they are working on so that the artists keep in the theme. Cafeteria is awesome. Lots to choose from. And they have a gift store for the visitors. Same things you would find in the Disney stores plus a few things exclusively found in the park. read more

I had an ordinary meeting at the Studio. But the tourists here are full of excitement! Each one was awe-struck with joy to see even the most commercial Disney stuff. So sweet. I could not help but feel their thrill when young and old gush over things like a "Wardrobe" building sign. I don't necessarily feel the Disney magic, but I felt them feeling it. Back for a business meeting yesterday. Had the pleasure of trying the cafeteria with a business colleague; very enjoyable. It was Taco Tuesday Yesterday so figured I would give it a try. Food excellent here and a nice, generous, treat for employees. Though I am sure it gets old for them, it was a nice to see how my colleagues eat on a daily basis. Tra la la I got to come here tra la la. Here's how I got in: One of the animators (he's been at Disney since the Lion King) saw my drawings in church one sunday and asked if I was interested in pursuing animation. When I said I was, he invited me to the Studios. You can see this place off the freeway if you go to the Americana. There is a huge Sorcerer's hat in front. It is next to ABC studios and across from Walt Disney Studios, which I could just see yonder. First, the animator took me over to the cafeteria over at ABC, where I had pizza (this was back in the vegetarian days). It was nice-looking, but the food was bland. Then he took me in to the animation studios, after I got a name tag. This was back when they were still working on the Princess and the Frog, and he showed me his studio. It was preeeettty small, and he's a big shot, so I don't even want to think where the lesser artists work. All around his studio were pictures of scenes from the movie. He himself was working on the Prince, so I got to see raw sketches. This place is tres, tres magnefique! I got to explore a little bit, too, and I saw one room completely decorated like the New Orleans setting of The Princess and the Frog. Dim lighting, street lamps, lots of fake ivy and moss, fake brick..it was like a mini part of Disneyland. This was also before Bolt came out, and they were still working on it and had a wall covered in sketches of the dog and the cat and the hamster. I literally geeked out the whole time. I LOVE DISNEY!!! This was a very cool experience and I'm glad ever-so-greatful that I got to visit this gorgy place. read more

I remember when I was a kid, I always wanted to know what it was like over at the water tower of mickey, the 7 dwarfs building and the big blue sorcerers hat. The opportunity to go inside sounded exciting to me. I finally got a chance to enter in the studios. The security guard was super nice. The place was nice, clean and groomed of course. There are street names of dwarf characters. When you enter inside one of the buildings on dopey st, the hallways inside have Disney artwork, paintings and scraps from every animated film. Inside the facility also had different subsidiaries of other companies, some I've never heard of. Everyone there is just really cool. Had an awesome time chatting people who work there and got me interested more in actually being employed by Disney one day. It seems like it could be real fun. read more

The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank are gorgeous! When you're inside, you feel like you're in a Disney theme park. All the hedges are trimmed just right, and everything is in order. Some people think it's creepy how perfect everything is. I love it. I got to go into the studio because my friend used to work for Disney. They don't do tours, so it's hard to get into the studio unless you're really rich or know somebody. I felt very honored and cool to be able to be there walking and eating amongst the talented people who work there. There are office buildings, sound stages, editing rooms, the ABC offices, and Disney Animation studio all right there on one lot. There's so much history around every corner. The revolving displays in one of the buildings currently has a collection of Disney hats from their different movies (and some of Walt Disney's personal collection) and some costumes from "High School Musical". If you can get onto this lot, I highly recommend it. read more

I have been lied to. They keep sending me products and mail after I've cancelled.... like close to five months ago. Their phone systems are set up so you keep being connected to lines that are selling products with no opportunity for a real person to talk to. So over four months later, I'm still trying to get something from them that says I'm really cancelled and they won't keep sending me stuff they charge me for. Just also found out their workers that answer these phones have no insurance. They have a good scam going to wear you down to keep paying for product. I am now an ANTI-DISNEY fan. read more

HOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIT. I almost died when I came in here. I'm serious. I stopped breathing for a little bit because I was just so happy to see where a lot of the magic happens. It was amazing driving to our assigned stage of work and see all the buildings that made an appearance in "Saving Mr. Banks" like the animation building and the grassy lawn where Emma Thompson is sitting. Disneyland is already so magical, but this was just on another level. There's also a store inside so you can get souvenirs :) it's mostly stuff you can buy at Disneyland, but they also have Vinylmations that were only available at D23, and are now only available at Walt Disney Studios. read more

It's really cool to know that Walt once walked around these building, but I'm sure there alot of people sad to see these old buildings go.....! Since I've been around the back lot for the last 3 weeks....I've had a chance to meet some of the nicest people around! Had the great pleasure of working here some years ago and yes the sense of "magic" is quite palpable. A massive, extraordinary campus. Every corner you turn reveals something special and exceptional that helps keep Walt's vision alive, and thriving. One thing I found amusing was the huge number of squirrels who live on the green. They are everywhere, sitting on the grass, climbing the trees or just running around; sometimes walking among so many when it was starting to get dark was scary!! The other thing I used to find slightly troubling was the enormous, empty, seemingly abandoned stages. One after another - sitting there like lifeless ghosts of shows long gone, vast and silent. Again, passing by those at night would give me a slightly eerie feeling. But otherwise, an utterly fascinating place, and of course a monumental legacy. read more

I love the Walt Disney Studios, but maybe you consider me slightly biased since I work for the company. For the past year and a half, I've been an employee over at their Tower Buildings in Burbank, but sometimes, when we're feeling up to it, we'll adventure over to the Studio Lot to enjoy a few hours in the Burbank sunshine. The cafeteria has tons of great food if that's what you're in the mood for, a Starbucks if you're feeling caffeine deprived or if you're looking for presents for some little ones you should try the Disney Store on site. read more

Where do I even begin?!! Gah this place reminds me that there is magic in the world and these are some of the people that make Disney DISNEY. **10 STARS** We came for a private screening of a film that will be out later this year. When we drove in there was a friendly well dressed lady to give instructions on where to park. I'm sure she does this 1,000 times a day and she was so pleasant to us at the end of her day. There were multiple people at different check points to make parking easy. Then we walked to an classic looking theater and classic disney master piece art along our walk. Reminded me of being a kid. I had very little expectations for the movie we screened, and so when I walked out at the end completely inspired and feeling like I took a magic potion. It REALLY made my day special. The movie blew me away, great story, great acting, great music and it just really left me with the impression of WOW movies really can MOVE you when they are done right! Way to go DISNEY. After when we headed back to the car we snapped a selfie by the historical building with the pillars, large dworf bolders and walt & mickey statue. There was a bit of que to do this, others had the same idea some young and some old. No matter how old you are, where you are from in the world everyone speaks DISNEY & I loved my visit to the studio. read more

Soooo yeah. Five stars for the history and all that jazz. I thought it was funny that someone reviewed this place...I guess that makes sense though, it is a place to go. I've found that when you work somewhere and are there day in and day out, the allure and mystery sort of wears off. Behind all the trimmed hedges and manicured lawns are hard-working employees and a lot of people are doing the 9- 6 or 8-9 or what have you to get by. The assignments I have done at Disney and ABC always put me in contact with really nice down to earth people though, and there's always snacks and drinks to go around (whoo hoooo!)...so three cheers for that! read more

I got a great, big Happy Birthday email from Disney and no wonder: I've spent thousands of dollars on their parks, events and merchandise over the years. They informed me I'd be getting a great free gift--but no gift was forthcoming. I emailed seven times and called two different numbers, only to be shuttled from employee to employee and hear things like, "I'm sorry, I do not have that information" and "I'm sorry, this is a reservation line only." EMILY down at Disneyland was particularly sweet but honestly, I feel ripped off. Oh, and calling The Walt Disney Company directly was a complete waste because again, no one knew who I was supposed to talk to. In fact, they leaned on *me* to tell them how to proceed and acted completely helpless when I couldn't say. read more

What an amazing experience. I got to go to a private screening of "Malefacent 3D" at the Walk Disney Studios (the company my husband works at converted the 3D). The lot is flawless is manicured grass and topiary (no surprise, it's Disney). I hope to go back some day for a tour, but if this was my only experience I'll take it. read more
