After calling several other companies and learning that it would take well over a week to get out, and they charged fees just to come take a look it made my decision easy. Jim and his crew were there within a week to get the job done. The installation took about an hour - hour and a half. It was an easy, very painless process. Jim and his crew were friendly, knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout the process. I had Jim take a look at a couple other small projects around the house which he accepted. Which leads me to today. I called Jim at about 8:45 with a problem regarding one of the small projects he looked at. He was at my house in 25 minutes and immediately to work. Jim and crew seem to genuinely care. They are honest, charged me exactly what he quoted me. They were prompt, and the work is excellent. I will be calling Coakley Plumbing for every plumbing and heating job that comes up for as long as I'm in the Medway area. You should too.

The workers who did the installation were very nice and professional, and I paid $175 for the installation. About a month or so later, the plastic sprayer part began sticking and would stay on. The hose itself was fine. One day I noticed a Cullen Plumbing van at my condo complex and saw that they were already doing work in my building. I left a message explaining the problem and said that if they happened to have time to look at it while they were already there, that would be great, but that it was not an emergency and they could come whenever it was convenient. Marc stopped by my unit that same day and agreed that the plastic sprayer part was not working properly. He asked whether Cullen had purchased the faucet or whether I had. I honestly could not remember at the time because I had been hospitalized with sepsis in December, which had significantly affected my memory, among other things. Marc replaced only the plastic sprayer part. There was no hose replacement, and the part took just a few minutes to swap out. I did not receive a bill at the time. A few months later, while preparing to sell my condo, I was going through my Home Depot account and discovered that I had, in fact, purchased the faucet myself. I wanted to do the right thing, so I contacted Marc and let him know that I had purchased it and told him he should send me a bill for replacing the sprayer part. Imagine my surprise when I received an invoice for $190 -- more than I had originally paid for the entire faucet installation -- for replacing a simple plastic sprayer part that took only minutes, especially since Cullen was already working in my building that day. I had no problem paying a fair and reasonable amount for the part and Marc's time. In fact, I was the one who reached out months later to make sure I paid for it. But $190 for this particular repair feels excessive and, unfortunately, like a quick money grab after I tried to do the honest thing. I'm disappointed because my original experience with the workers was positive. Cullen Plumbing also does a lot of work at the new community I've moved to, but fortunately I've since received a referral to another plumber whom I'll be using in the future.

The sink needed replacing, so he said a quote would be coming soon. It was at that point that things began to take a turn. Matt came on a Wednesday. By that Friday afternoon I had heard nothing regarding a quote or any additional information, so I called. I got the AI phone answer service "Dane", who is meant to sound real (with computer keyboard clicking and background voice noise) but is clearly not. AI Dane said that someone would call me back. Nothing. The weekend went by, Monday, Tuesday then Wednesday--a full week--went by. AI Dane was happy to take a message and have someone return my call. Only when I told AI Dane to cancel the project did I get a text--not a call--from someone named Chris (was he AI? who knows) saying that he thinks it will be "around $850." After all that waiting I would rather go through someone else. They may do good work--I can't speak to that--but their communication needs a lot of improvement. Update: Chris apparently is real, at least he said so in a text, and said that there were some issues that came up on their side and that they were sorry. Honestly, if a message had just been communicated to me that there were some issues and that that they would be able to get to it the following week, I would have been fine! I am not a jerk. But I do need businesses that make the effort to communicate clearly, which did not happen.

A few days before my appointment I asked him if he could look into checking a radiator on one of my floors due to it making some noise. He said he would. He arrived on time. He went to fix the radiator and it was easier than he had thought. He also noticed another one in the house was making noise too so he repaired that one too. He also tightened a 3rd one in another room. Then he went on to the servicing. He informed me of some rebates for boiler replacements for when they hit 30 years which was great info to know. The final bill was actually very reasonable and I was impressed. He was so great and I will definitely be using him for my regular plumbing and heating needs.
