We stayed at Walnut RV Park in our 31Ft Class-A for several months while house-hunting. The staff was always kind, friendly and efficient, happy to recommend shopping or restaurant options. Is this a luxury RV resort? No. But there is a pool and a recreation room with pool table and kitchen, all of which are well maintained. My husband and I felt fortunate to stay in this park and recommend it as a clean, well maintained, friendly, well located, no-frills RV park. read more

I'm still in shock with how my husband and I were just treated by the manager of this place. I can't remember the last time someone was that condescending and rude to me. As a travel nurse, I've been to a lot of RV parks, campgrounds, resorts, etc and never had any issues with the rig we live in. And as an ER nurse in general, I deal with a lot of less then pleasant people, families and coworkers, and this lady still takes the cake. As we were pulling into our paid for, reserved place, this woman (the manager) stormed up to us and immediately accused us of lying about the make and year of our rig. I literally could not even get a sentence out without this woman interrupting, accusing, and insulting me. "I don't like it, you can't stay here." We traveled 7 hours today to get to this park, and made these reservations over the phone about a month and a half prior. An in detail conversation about our all aluminum horse trailer was had over the phone with one of the employees. We told them the year, the make, the fact that it was fully coded as an RV with living quarters and that no horses were ever in this rig. They agreed to book us and take our money. Then on arrival the manager accused us of lying and being sneaky and stated there was no way that ever happened. The kicker is, we actually spoke with the office twice before arrival, as they originally got our booking dates wrong in the reservation. Now I can understand if there was a misunderstanding, it would be frustrating as now we have no where to go with two dogs on board, but it could have been something she apologized for, refunded us for and regrettable told us we had to leave. The way she spoke to us and handled this was probably the worse customer service I've ever had. I honestly can't believe she is in a managerial role. She was belittling, degrading and down right rude. She even had the gaul to order me to stop speaking when I was trying to answer one of her questions, like I was an inferior human being to her. This place does not deserve your business with this woman as it's manager. I highly recommend looking else where. read more

This is a very nice urban campground that is fairly close to Hollywood and Similar Valley. The spaces are nice and wide with full hookups. However the spaces themselves are gravel. While nicely equipped and clean, this park is much too expensive for what you get. They are clearly taking advantage of their location. For $75/night I would like to see WiFi to my site instead of just around the clubhouse and pool. I enjoyed my stay, but I didn't enjoy forking out $75 for what is really a $45 site. read more

I've stayed at Walnut several times, often for a few weeks at a time and I cannot say enough great things about this park. First off, the staff is wonderful. Sue and Eva run a clean and well-maintained place and they always have time for a smile and kind word. The park has strict rules but it serves to keep the place safe and visually appealing. Since it's in the San Fernando Valley it's busy but located in a very safe and convenient part of town. The spaces are well worth the price, you can walk to the mall and many other restaurants and shops. This is an urban park with very few drive-through spaces but the spaces are plenty wide enough to fit a large rig and park 2 cars. They have showers, a coin laundry, and lots of trees around the park. The guests have always been friendly and considering it's in the middle of LA, it's pretty quiet at night. They have a really comfy & well-appointed common room for meetings, watching tv, checking email, or just playing pool and their swimming pool is crystal clear. Highly recommended! read more

This is a weird park. We got there and they said our spot would be a little noisy and we would be facing the Main Street. We were shocked that they had about a 3ft tall wall in between us and the street that anyone could jump and break into our rv without anyone being able to see it. They also have a rule that you can't walk dogs in the park as there are apparently a lot of transplant patients in the park. The "dog park" is tiny and again has no fence and is at the entrance/exit of the park about 4ft from the main road. We had some mails sent to the park as well and when we called were told that all usps mail is automatically returned to the sender. The people made this place an automatic 5 star. The staff were so kind to our entire family, kids and dog. All COVID precautions were followed and enforced. The only downfall would be that the sites did not have picnic tables or fire rings but if you travel with your own, then no problem. Great place to stay while exploring the LA area. read more

We stayed in the park for an extended period. Always well maintained. Pool always clean. Remodeled lobby with big screen tv. Movies, games, puzzles, books, pool table, Foosball! Laundry on site. We enjoyed our stay. They were very accommodating and always helpful. The park was very quiet. We are kind of keep to ourselves people that go to bed early and we never had problems with noise. Eva and Sue were awesome! We would definitely stay again!! We met a lot of nice people and still stay in touch with a couple people we met that were staying in the park. Thank you! read more

This is a wonderful place to be for an RV family. First off the staff is beyond amazing. They helped us from start to finish showing so much care. We felt like family!! While my wife was working as a travel nurse, this RV park provided us with a home for 6 months. Aside from having a great location near shopping centers, restaurants, and a large Mall, it is the down-to-earth nature of the people who manage the park that make it a great place to live. Whether you are dealing with Sue, Beth, and/or Jenna, you will have an awesome experience with the office staff. They will make your stay a peaceful transition between the bustling City of LA and the down to earth side of Northridge California. I highly recommend this park to anyone in the northern LA area. We drove our travel trailer from Montana to LA. We had stayed at Dockweiler on the beach and at Anaheim RV Resort, both wonderful!! Needed a place closer to the city to spend our last 3 nights. Our camper is older but very clean and nice. We were told we could not stay at Walnut because it was more than 10 years old. Crazy!!! read more

We were told when we made our reservation that the park only allowed your dogs to use the bathroom in a grass area in front of the park. We have two small dogs and thought it would be no biggie. Then we arrived we realized the area in front of the park is a sidewalk with a small patch of dead brown grass. It was also littered with trash everywhere and dog feces on a very busy road. Obviously they don't do any maintaining if the front of their property. The bathrooms were old and hard to turn the shower knobs and in need of an update . We also we told when we made the reservation that it would be $65/night. When we arrived they changed the fee to $70/night. A little to expensive in my opinion. The park was clean and quiet and in a good location for shopping nearby. I just don't recommend it if you have any animals. read more

We are very unhappy with this place. We had to evacuate our house because of the Thomas fire and this was the only RV park we could find this side of Ventura. I called on Friday, December 8, and made a reservation for two nights, thinking the evacuation order would be lifted by Sunday. When I got there, I found that they had charged my credit card for THREE nights. (They did give us our AAA discount.) The following morning, Saturday, we got news that the evacuation order had been lifted for our area of Ventura County, so we went to the office to get a refund because we wanted to get back to our home that night. No way, said the woman in the office. They don't give refunds for ANY reason. I asked to talk to the manager, who finally appeared and told me the same thing. She kept tapping the sign on the desk that read "no refunds." I said this was an emergency evacuation, not your average request for a refund. She finally agreed to refund Sunday night (the night I did NOT request). I asked why I couldn't get a refund for Saturday night too, and she said, "Because we don't have time to book a new one." I said "What?" She said the same thing again, and I said that I will remember those words. She also said something about the owners won't let her give refunds. Cold. No compassion. Heartless. Tap tap tap. NO REFUNDS. We left immediately, with a very bad feeling about that place! read more

If you're looking for a quiet park near Los Angeles this is it. Smaller, very clean, very quiet. Excellent washers and dryers. Very nice people. Added bonus is nearby shopping for everyone in the family - high end fashion to electronics, delis to BoneFish Grill. Definitely the right choice. Lots are large enough to accommodate most rigs, no back-ins. read more

We urban boondock full time so we don't stay there but we dump our tanks there every 8-9 days. I've met Loraine and Mark and they are both pretty nice and politely confirm with us that we have the proper sewer fittings and that we will be tidy. Costs $10, about the only place in the valley to do so. There is also Malibu Creek State Park. $12 gets you a day pass and water and sewer dump. read more

Just stayed there for 3 days while picking up family at LAX. Close to LAX and Universal Studios. Do not go to LA and miss Universal, absolutely a wonderful day. I found everything terrific. The staff, the accommodations and all. I almost did not stay because of the two bad posts. That would have been a big mistake. This park is in a good neighborhood, walking distance to shopping center for food, etc. Again close to LAX and Universal Studios. We wanted something close to LAX for family to rest after their long flight. This is LA, you can not book one night and then just expect to extend your stay after being there one night. They are booked up often ahead of time. My understanding from talking to guests that stay there often, the two bad reviews were from two guests expecting to just extend their stay. Give this place a break on the two bad reviews and post if your stay is positive. I have a 40 foot diesel pusher. Thank you Sue and Eva for an absolutely wonderful experience. I just got back from a 10-day stay (I was here once before, for two days, in 2012). The park is now asking for Yelp reviews, and I can see why, as all but one currently posted review is very negative. They need (and deserve) some balance. OK, this RV park is nothing like the very posh (yet affordable) parks in, say, Oregon. But, it is far from a dump. If fact it is quiet, clean, and feels safe, as well as a bit cheaper than Balboa RV Park (the only other park in all of LA). I found the navigation fairly easy with my 35' 5th wheel and pickup rig. The manager, Lorayne ,was polite, friendly, and helpful. The patrons were also very considerate and friendly. My only complaints are that the internet service (Tango) is so slow as to be worthless and the recycling container was always over flowing. Also, there is no pet poo area and no cable hookup (but my little old antenna pulled in all the channels I needed with perfect reception). I do prefer Balboa RV Park when I come to LA as it is soooo quirkey, with super-nice people and a great little off leash doggie area. However, I will not hesitate to stay at Walnut RV Park, in the future, if Balboa is full. [NOTE: Some folks may hate Balboa because it is very old and cramped, has no swimming pool, and is in an industrial area of Van Nuys - to each his/her own]. read more

I wouldn't advise going here they told me I could stay there for two and a half months then after two weeks made me move out with out any notice because they rented my spot out after I was already there when I asked if I could stay for one more night till I found another Rv park because my family was with me they said it wasn't there problem that I needed to leave. Although I had told them in the beginning that I would be there 2 1/2 months so if you go here I would pay for your spot for the entire stay up front. This parks space are also very small so if you have two vehicles I would also not go here because you'll have no room to even walk out your door cause you will have to park along side your Rv there is no other parking available. This is one of the worst Rv park experiences I've ever had and I stay in Rv parks all across the states read more

Excellent park....not a campground! We wanted to be close to attractions & a heated pool. This hit the mark. Hollywood blvd (Ripleys,graumanns,Guinness,Hollywood sign, hard Rock, etc), as well as Universal Studios and the Santa Monica pier are all w/I 30-50 minutes.....for LA area that is good! We dealt with the after hours manager Beth who was the sweetest person. The place is spotless, showers big, laundry room reasonable......and we found the regulars to be social. The sites are tight, there are no tables or pits....but it sure hit the mark for what we wanted. Our site was across from the heated pool which appeased the 4, 9 & 14 year olds....as well as the adults! We walked to local businesses and restaurants as well. Fit our needs to a tee! read more

We just returned from Walnut RV park after 6 nights! Traveling with the kids to LA for amusement parks and museums is always a challenge because there are very very few clean, family friendly and safe RV parks, and they all seem to be a two hour drive from anything! We had usually stayed way out in Ontario because the KOA was the best RV fit around.....UNTIL we found Walnut RV Park! The park was an AMAZING jewel of a find! It is smack dab in the heart of the Northridge residential area with a huge awesome mall two blocks away! There is every store, restaurant and bank minutes from the park!! But you don't feel like your in the middle of a city, because its quiet. The staff are darling and extremely helpful. The spaces are clean and wide! You can't beat the price! So affordable and the bathrooms are clean and the pool, the lounge chairs and indoor clubhouse with pool table, tv and foose-ball is a plus! We were 26 miles from Universal Studios, Burbank Airport and Reagan Presidential Museum. There are a few monthly full time residents and the ones I met were so kind, kept to themselves and were above board folks! All the RVs are kept up nicely and no dumpy looking ones. There is room for your RV and to the side of it for your pulled vehicle. There is also maybe a 10x10 space for a few chairs or table. This RV park is not a destination place, but its great if you go out for the day and come back to sleep, bathe and take a dip in the heated pool. My kids swam in the pool and they are careful to keep the park looking pretty and appealing! This will be our go-to RV park the next time we come to the LA area! read more

We stayed there for two weeks. When we first arrived we had reservations for 5 days but we had additional appointments with doctors. We needed to extended our stay another week. When asked they said they were booked yet they had many open spaces. We asked again and were allowed to stay an additional week. When went to pay they told us we only had 3 days. The place is a gravel pit - no grass anywhere. The showers are disgusting. We felt they were constantly spying on us. We had someone drop a package off at our trailer. They were not there for more than 5 minutes when a woman came yelling at us to move the car. It wasn't on the road. They have some residents who live in broken down RVs, well beyond the 10 years they claim to be the age limit. If they don't like you they'll give you a spot near the busy street where cars race by and busses are coming and going, it's so noisy that we had to yell to hear each other. The noise also made it impossible to sleep. They have a nice pool, that's it. The place gave me the creeps. Do yourself a favor, skip this place and head to Hollywood Trailer Park in Van Nuys - nicer people and nicer accommodations. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! My husband and I travel in our 5th wheel all over the nation for work, along with our little Corgi dog. Neither of us have ever been treated or talked to the way these people did. We were both confronted and verbally attacked by one of the managers, Dorothy, we both only know this because we had to stop her in the middle of her tirade to ask her name as she never even introduced herself!! I was raised nearby this location and figured we would only be there temp it was perfect as far as locations and where my family lives...we stayed for the week we paid for and moved!!! Spots are VERY tight and you are not allowed to park in overflow parking(but there's others that are full time that are allowed as I noticed) we had to squeeze 2 vehicles in our spot that was already lacking space to begin with. People in in the park were also very unfriendly. I would recommend sleeping in Walmart parking lot before I would tell anyone to go here. read more

My family came to L.A on vacation and stayed here. The staff was extremely rude. They put us in a small space in the very back of the park. Our trailer was too long so very hard to park our truck. This park is run down. Not what we expected at all. The wi-fi is like slower than dial up. The crime is all around you in this area. We listened to our scanner tons of shootings,gangs,rapes,robberies,domestic violence. We will not be back in this park again. read more

We stayed here for 4 nights, as we were visiting friends in LA. Sites are very tight. Park basically like a parking lot. I would have liked to have known there were no areas for little pooches. Our little dog is an 11 lb rescue dog. Policy states all animals must not walk in park and must be carried out of park to kerb side outside of park entrance to take care of business. Apparently, there are many people with transplant/medical problems. Hence the reason no animals allowed to walk in park. I feel that should be addressed prior. I carried my dog out of park and was immediately approached by person asking for money and telling me how unfriendly everyone was. To say I felt uncomfortable was an understatement. Also, taking dog out of park late at night was even uncomfortable for my husband; he too was approached. If you have a little pooch, I would recommend checking for park with dog area. In writing this, I literally see a person actually walking her dog. Just leaving and lo and behold we witness another dog owner walking his dog from outside. Are there different policies for long timers? Wifi works only in recreation room and pool area. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 months for a contract with our jobs and worked in north La. The location is great with lots of restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores nearby. We enjoyed the park, it is small but they keep it very clean and yes seem strict on things as previous reviewers have saw as negative but overall I think it was a good thing. The bathrooms were kept clean as well as the laundry facilities (is everything brand new? No but clean is always good) The free wifi was surprisingly good. We were able to park my small SUV and my husbands 2500 truck beside our site as well, we have a 37 foot 5th wheel. So over all for the choices is the area this is the best. We didn't have any issues with the managers, they are not overly chatty but that's not a bad thing :) They brought around gifts out of the blue the second month for everyone (summer sausage and cheese set) and they are currently forwarding our mail manually (printing out labels with our new address and placing them on mail they receive and sending it back out) since USPS won't forward mail from the business address to our new address. So definitely consider this park if you are interested in this area. We had a great stay and appreciate everyone at the park :) read more
