The bushes don't provide much cover

First of all, you feel like you're camping in the desert. I know, you are, but damn. The lack of shade is real. They have coin operated showers, a quarter for 3 minutes. Good for water conservation and people with short hair but just bring another quarter with you, just in case you run out of time with conditioner still in your hair... One of the nights I spent here there was a ginormous camper in the next site with a large TV screen outside and a group of people gathered to watch the game. Talk about taking you out of the experience. The cost was about $32 per day with RV hookups and water at your site. It appears to be well maintained and it is a good way to get out of civilization and into some nature. I actually prefer Oak Park to here. Close to town and to the library if you need some beer or some wifi.

The host made the place worthwhile. Nice little hideaway, clean and maintained. Can't ask for more.

I'll kick off by saying that the location is fairly easy to get to from the freeways, but it's…read morestill a bit of a trek from most of the major attractions around Los Angeles. Because of this, the price feels a bit on the steep side, especially given the outdated bathrooms and showers. The pool was absolutely freezing too much to enjoy. One thing that really stood out as a bit of an eyesore (and honestly quite off-putting) was the overflowing dumpster. I discovered there's only one tiny bin for all the campers, and during our stay, it got so bad that it looked like people were chucking their bags of trash into the recycling bin. On the plus side, the people were friendly, and the groundskeeper was fantastic. He even took my trash bag and got rid of it for me so I didn't have to go anywhere near the mess. I noticed he was always on the go, making sure everything around the campsite was clean apart from the trash area which had really no hope. All in all, this is a place I'd consider as a stopover to break up my journey, but I wouldn't make it the main destination nor an extended stay. We've experienced better amenities for this price at other private sites.

There were several sites that were breaking rules from the enormous rule book. It wasn't necessary and I felt uncomfortable there. Left early. I really don't want to rave about this place too much because I don't want it to become a place…read morewhere we can never get a reservation lol! But I have TBH, the owner is the nicest guy! Our family was planning a weekend visit to Universal Studios, we have dogs that we don't kennel nor do we stay in hotels with them, so we found this park convenient to park our trailer, stay a night and keep our dogs in the AC for the day while we enjoyed the day. It is nice and clean and has full hook ups. There is no pool or anything recreational like that, though I do believe there is a game room and gym. Like I said we weren't there for that so I didn't check them out to even tell you what was in them or how they are. The restrooms were clean and have showers, we use the restroom and shower in our rig but did have to use the park restrooms a couple of times. It is a clean and quiet place where a lot of people are long term or residential guests. Please, if you are looking for a place to "rage", do not come here, it is not the place.

I honestly can't say enough about how AMAZING this RV park is! We needed to be in Los Angeles on an…read moreongoing weekly basis and decided staying in our RV would be a much more cost effective option than finding a shared apartment or booking an Airbnb every week. BEST choice EVER once we found Hollywood RV Park! From the moment we pulled into the RV park, I could feel how different and special this place was. We were met by the owner, Steve, who is a Hollywood icon (and has the most amazing stories and personality!), who instantly took over to get our camper parked for us. Their complimentary valet service is second to none. Honestly, for US, it was such a welcome relief after braving the LA freeways. Steve has a great little towing tractor that hooks right up to the camper and off it goes to your site, safely and securely. It's a perfect situation. Steve knows every inch of his RV park (having built so much of it himself over the past decades), and he knows best how to easily slide your rig into the generous sites without you having to navigate it yourself. Steve has a never ending smile and welcomes you like you're family or a long lost friend that's come home again. Such a wonderful reception after a long drive. Then let's talk about the RV park itself. It couldn't be more conveniently located. Easy off the 405 and since it's on Balboa, you are on the perfect route for sneaking around the 405 traffic and over the hill on busy traffic times. Everything you need is within a few minutes drive and there's even a grocery store across the street if you want to walk to it. But the park itself is where the magic truly happens. It's a Shangri-la, to be honest. Every street named after a famous Hollywood street (or area) and decorated to make you feel like you've arrived at the Disneyworld of RV parks, with gorgeous artwork and sculptures and Hollywood props tastefully arranged throughout the park. There's a lot of wonderful trees and greenery, so it almost feels like you're outside of the L.A. when you're in the park. We loved nothing more than walking around the park and seeing all of the decor and the wonderful site amenities that long term residents have put on their sites. Speaking of, the personality of the community at the RV park is incredibly friendly and welcoming. People smile at you and welcome you. It almost has an old fashioned feel to it where people greet each other as they pass with smiles and nods, or little conversations if you're so inclined. And yet, you also maintain as much privacy as you want. We've stayed there now every week (for a few days a week) for the past several months and I love that we were able to maintain our privacy but also felt like a welcomed part of the community. It's a very nice balance. The hookups are very easy and well designed. For us, we chose to store our camper right at the park, and Steve arranged it all for us to make life very easy. We drive in on Tuesdays and there our camper is on the spot Steve assigned us for the week, and then later in the week, we close the camper up, unhook, etc. and lock it up and leave it and Steve handles it from there. It couldn't be easier. I also think the pricing is VERY fair. When we compared doing Airbnb's long term or even renting a room in someone's apartment, there was no chance we could come close to beating what it costs to keep our camper at Hollywood RV Park and camping there a few nights a week. I honestly can't say enough about it. This is a very special place, run by a staff of incredible people. And Steve is a true gem. A legend in his own time. I feel lucky to have found it.

Here, you will stay in a trailer (possibly an Airstream or something like an Airstream) and you are probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. Beat that. If you have ever stayed in a trailer, you know it's tight quarters. But you get your own kitchen and bathroom and it's a heckuva lot more fun than a bland, stale hotel room. The site has firepits. Even better, they give you complimentary s'more kits with all the fixings. They have BBQs for grilling. They give you cookies and yogurt in the morning. They even give you oranges so you can squeeze your own orange juice. I don't drink orange juice normally but the juice here was outstanding. They have books and games available for borrowing. They have hammocks and swings and picnic tables. They have bikes for free rental. They have freshly-baked cookies that are delicious. There is apple cider and hot chocolate. There are a lot of amenities here which you simply will not find at most hotels. The train runs right by here and it's loud and shocking at first but it doesn't come by that often and you get used to it. Inside the trailer, aside from the train, the grounds are extremely quiet. This is a fun place and something different. The location is great and you get a lot of value for your money.
