This is a very unique lodging spot. It's kind of like camping without the bugs and the bad back when you Sure, there are any number of hotels or motels around which are available. Here, you will stay in a trailer (possibly an Airstream or something like an Airstream) and you are probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. Beat that. If you have ever stayed in a trailer, you know it's tight quarters. But you get your own kitchen and bathroom and it's a heckuva lot more fun than a bland, stale hotel room. The site has firepits. Even better, they give you complimentary s'more kits with all the fixings. They have BBQs for grilling. They give you cookies and yogurt in the morning. They even give you oranges so you can squeeze your own orange juice. I don't drink orange juice normally but the juice here was outstanding. They have books and games available for borrowing. They have hammocks and swings and picnic tables. They have bikes for free rental. They have freshly-baked cookies that are delicious. There is apple cider and hot chocolate. There are a lot of amenities here which you simply will not find at most hotels. The train runs right by here and it's loud and shocking at first but it doesn't come by that often and you get used to it. Inside the trailer, aside from the train, the grounds are extremely quiet. Stayed at this amazingly unique Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel in Ventura for 4 nights through the invitation and recommendation of our friends who were there for their airstream trailers camping group as well, and it was a blast! Nostalgia is the word that comes to mind soon as you entered the "compound ". You see vintage trailers that are actually the hotel trailers around the front entrance and about halfway are all the vintage trailers that are brought in by campers. I felt like I walked in to another timeline seeing all the different styles, colors and sizes of all the vintage trailer and the vibe was definitely on point by the way management has done with the whole ambiance, design and decore. Checking in to the place and welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff like Amy and the guy ( sorry I forgot his name) set the mood of our stay. Our place was lovely! We had the vintage Avion trailer that must have been made on the 60s refurbished into a nice and comfortable trailer hotel that had a little breakfast table, a kitchen with the basic necessities like coffee maker, microwave and kitchen sink, two single beds with Frette linens as a touch of luxury and bathroom is big enough to do everything you need to do including European toiletries and plush towels! Again, inside the trailer brings nostalgia because of the little decors such as a functioning tabletop record players with LP records which we enjoyed playing. The place was just adorable! Super dog friendly! Great location being that everything we wanted to do or go was walking distance. We walked to the beach, the pier, to downtown where we enjoyed their Farners Market day as well as all the surrounding restaurants and shops! Our other friends even went and biked to the nearby Ventura Harbor. Btw, they have bikes available for use if you ever want to bike. Every morning, they have coffee with freshly baked cookies and chia seeds cereal while every evening they have apple cider, hot chocolate and you can ask for the s'mores kit complete with chocolate and all that you needed to make s'mores in the fire pits that are lit in the common areas.We enjoyed the common area with our group of friends by grilling there and eating and making out s'mores every night! The only thing that might be an issue is the train passing by as it is definitely close to the tracks. But after a day, we just got used to it and it actually added to the ambience and of the whole experience ! Overall we definitely had a blast hanging out with our group of friends ! We came here mid October on a quick last minute weekend getaway. So glad we did. Each trailer had their unique decor and very cute. Friendly service, gave us s'mores kits at night, free bike rentals and short walk to the pier. The beds were very comfortable and slept really well. Due to the trains near by, they give you ear plugs and eye masks for sleeping. The trains did pass by couple of times but not in the middle of the night so it didn't bother us. We came for my son's bday so they even gave us a free mug as a gift. We enjoyed this place so much. We came back again a month later. read more

The is a super cute place to stay! Convenient and walkable for the average person to the beach, toppers, and other eateries and activities. In the evening when you arrive there is hot apple cider and hot chocolate to greet you, 2 bonfires and s'mores packets you can pick up at the office, multiple cornhole games and swings to use. When it's time for bed there are ear plugs and eye masks to use, as it is very bright from the string lights and there is train noise. Last train ran at 10 and first was 7:30 so not too bad unless you have napping babies. The next day rent bikes, (adult size only! Only 1 bike seat lowers to 10 year old level) and go over the bridge to the ventura waterfront promenade then visit the coffee carts, art pop ups and get fish tacos. This place is a hidden gem! I've lived in Ventura County all my life and this is exactly what the beach area needed! First off, I was planning a camping trip with my 8 and 12 year old in the Angeles forest but plans changed last minute because of the heat and carsickness fear. I still wanted to do something fun with them away from home. Waypoint was an hour away, close to the beach and looked fun on Yelp with good reviews. I'm so glad I booked our 2 night staycation here instead of a typical hotel. This was different and fun...the ultimate definition of glamping. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The place is immaculate and you can tell a lot of love and care goes into this place to make you feel comfortable. They have rental bikes that we used for beach cruising and we also met up with family on Main st as well. No bugs, no stress, pure relaxation. Some may find the train passing bothersome, but we didn't. My 8 year old wants to come back! I can't recommend this place enough! Absolutely loved it! read more

What an adventurous throwback! Truly once you enter the property it's like goi g back to easier, better days! We stayed in the smallest trailer, Alice in Wonderland. The trailer was very authentic and mostly original. Although the shower was small, it was very convenient (and the property offered showers and toilets as well). There is a lovely patio with 2 chairs and tables, also a large fire pit with 10 chairs just 15 feet from the patio - which was great for making the S'mores provided. We played corn hole and Boggle on the property, walked over the foot bridge to the Ventura Pier, and took provided bikes to have fish tacos on Front Street. The front office staff was amazing and truly made our stay epic! We will be back - next time in one of the "Mansion Trailers"! read more

Absolutely love this gem of a campground/ hotel! I mean- who wouldn't wanna stay in a vintage airstream trailer?!! Kinda stumbled on this property while looking at Google Maps. And I was so curious when it popped up- I had to click on Google photos then the website! So many trailers of different sizes- all unique in their own way. We reserved #2- The Manor. Think this is the oldest trailer on the property (1946). Each trailer description online ALWAYS mentions if there's an oven inside- IT IS FOR AESTHETICS. The ovens do not work. I wanted a trailer that would comfortably sleep 2 people (which ours did) & I really wanted a bedroom where both of us could walk around from both sides of the bed. We hate beds that are pushed up against the wall. I'm a fussy sleeper, so- I need ample space. Check in is typically 3pm. We called earlier in the day at 9am and asked if we could possibly have an early check in. 2pm is what we were told, would be no issue- but, if something earlier could be done- we would definitely get a call. And a call is definitely what we got! Our trailer was ready at 12:30pm! We paid the price for what you'd pay for a hotel room- and the amenities here- are worth it! Although the bikes weren't available- that was fine! Make sure you call to inquire what gadgets are specifically available in your trailer. We went to Vons grocery store before we came- so that way we didn't have to walk elsewhere. And, the property is nestled within walking distance to Downtown Ventura. Dining options are nearby. The Manor was equipped with a microwave & hot kettle, and a good sized mini fridge. If you wanted to grill- I've seen 2 on site & the office has utensils & plates. Driveway gates close at 5pm and you will be given an access code to enter. 2 fire pits on site- and guests receive a complimentary s'mores kit! Hot cider & hot cocoa are available at 5pm in the office. Morning coffee & hot tea in the office by 7:30am. There's a pedestrian bridge that leads you over the 101 Freeway onto the beach! Oh- and the shower inside our trailer- hot water galore! No need to let it warm up! We even used our large breakfast nook as a bed to watch tv for a bit- then realized we could turn/ swivel the tv at an angle towards the bedroom. This is an awesome place to get away to! My kid and her dad stayed here on a road trip. So when I took off Veterans Day and asked where she wanted to go she said "Ventura." So we made an overnight trip of it and I booked a trailer here. The lady running the front desk when we arrived was super nice. She gave restaurant suggestions, helped with bikes and took us to our camper to make sure all was well with the water and the heater. The atmosphere is super cute! They done a great job with landscaping and set up. I loved all the extras they provided from the sleeping masks and ear plugs on your pillow. The yum cookies, chia seed pudding and various drinks at the arrival area and free bike rentals and free smore kits. It just made my getaway with my kid special. When a lot of businesses are taking away the extras it's super nice to find one that does put in the extra effort to make ur stay memorable! And the trailers are super cute! My bed was pretty comfy! I'm definitely going to return. Ventura is a fun town to getaway to and I can't wait for our next visit. Can't wait for our next visit! We saw a YouTube video a couple years ago about this place and I saved it for "someday". Well, someday finally arrived. We bought an Airstream several months ago and we were looking for an outing that wouldn't be too far from home. It was sort of last minute and I was so thankful they had available space for us. We stayed 3 days. The grounds were very nice and clean. Loved being nestled amongst all the vintage trailers. We had some reservations about the train track directly behind our unit, but it really wasn't so bad. We actually enjoyed it. The succulent plantings were gorgeous. The staff was awesome. The nearby restaurants were yummy. We had Spencer McKenzies and Toppers Pizza while there. Toppers had a cool Airstream trailer painting on the wall that said Waypoint. If you're looking for a unique stay outside of the typical boring hotel rooms, then you've GOT to check out Waypoint Ventura. Their location was a bit confusing at first since you pull into an area that looked like a dead-end parking lot where you have to drive over some train tracks, but actually, there's a small road parallel to the tracks that leads you to the gated pathway. Once you enter through the gates, you're in vintage trailer heaven. From air streams to aero bolero.. they've pretty much got a variety to suit different preferences. We had trailer 9. Each trailer has its own little parking space to the left of the trailer. Our trailer also had a patio area with chairs, a kitchenette, a dining table, a queen bed, and a full bathroom with a standing shower with Malin and Goetz toiletries! On the property, they have 2 different fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs, swings, and some corn holes. They've also got a trailer with 2 public showers at the front entrance area. In the morning, there's a fresh do-it-yourself orange juice station, a great assortment of loose-leaf tea, and coffee, and a frig with mini chia seed puddings and cookies Unfortunately, this was an incredibly short stay as we were heading up north, but I am definitely coming back here to check out their other trailers. read more

They have an extremely long line and you cannot make any reservations for the restaurant and you have to pay for your food before you sit down which causes a very very inconvenient because it makes you wait longer. If you have a group of five or more they're at the register for at least 20 minutes aking orders instead of taking your order at your seat, there's a lot of times where they're always understaffed busy days are on the weekend if you want to get there early and you want to have a seat and you don't want to wait in line you might as well get there exactly when they open their doors. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT HERE! We spent three nights here and didn't want to leave... The renovated vintage trailers are all uniquely themed and can fit anywhere from two to eight people. The grounds are immaculate! They have a few swings, corn hole, and offer free bikes to explore. They also have a BBQ area that everyone is welcome to use. In addition to the vintage trailers, they also have full hookup campsites, which is what we stayed in. One hard, fast requirement is that your rig must fit with the vintage theme. And yes! They call to confirm. We have an Airstream Basecamp, and lucky for us, it qualified! Complimentary coffee, tea and fresh pressed OJ in the mornings. In the evenings: Hot apple cider, hot chocolate and s'mores kits to enjoy at one of two cool looking fire pits. Special shout out to Joy and Danielle who were such a delight in person and assisted me with multiple modifications to our stay prior to arrival. Just a couple FYIs: - Located close to some active train tracks. The occasional horn and rumble didn't bother us, but pack some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. - Ocean views may once have been, but there's a high rise residential building now blocking any of that. My friend came to visit one night who was staying at the Sheraton at the wharf. She was bummed she didn't book one of these vintage trailers instead for a unique experience! This was definitely a fun experience. Growing up, my parents had a travel trailer and then moved up to a motor home that we took many vacations in. I never got over the quaint and intimate feeling that old trailers provide. When I can find a new vintage park to check out, I like to stay. I had looked up this place many years ago and it just happened to fit into our travel plans this time so I made a reservation. Easy to find and right next to the beach. We pulled in and were greeted by the friendly host. She hooked us up with the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers so we could have some tasty s'mores for the evening. She advised us of the rules which weren't many. We had the option to use their bikes should we desire and fresh squeezed orange juice provided each morning. She provided our keys and off we went to check out our home for the night. We stayed in a 1955 Spartan Manor. All renovated and updated yet still has the epic travel trailer old school feel. It was called The Flamingo and featured Hawaiian decor. I just fell in love with the interior and it brought back great memories of past travel. There were two twin beds for sleeping, a well equipped kitchen, a small living room and our own private patio with lighting. This trailer actually won best in show at the Palm Springs Modernism Vintage Trailer show. The park itself is pretty big and there are lots of trailers to choose from. The stay was reasonable and we had a great time. We walked to the beach for dinner and then promptly returned and enjoyed our delicious s'mores at one of the many fire pits. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was accommodating. I definitely enjoyed this step back into nostalgia and would highly recommend a stay if you enjoy unique places to stay other than a standard hotel room. read more

There was a misunderstanding as I thought all the trailers were pet friendly but this is not the case. They were able to make an exception for me but they said it wouldn't happen in the future. The person who resolved my issue was super friendly and open to feedback so 5 stars for that. The property is super clean and behind a secure gate. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and an even shorter walk to downtown and restaurants. They have fire pits on the property and bikes available for use. The property is next to a very loud train, but it didn't come by super often and didn't come by at night. All the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time! We were in the Pink Panther trailer. It's the largest trailer and right up against the railroad tracks. The staff was wonderful. We were worried about being cold and they immediately offered blankets and an extra heater but warned us about overloading the circuits. We didn't end up using the second heater but appreciated it being offered. LOVED the hot apple cider, hot chocolate and Smores ingredients at night. Then the tea/coffee offerings with chia pudding, funky cookies and freshly squeezed OJ in the morning topped it off. The two camp fires with blankets at night were great. We met some lovely people. Love that it's dog friendly too! Beds/pillows were super comfortable. I usually have a problem with the pillows. Loved the soaps/shampoos they used. Refrigerator (that was over 60 years old) kept things a little too cold but kept our ice cream nice and hard! hehe Great location. In walking/biking distance of so many fun things. We didn't use the bikes because we didn't bring helmets. Others were happily using the bikes but I didn't wear helmets so I'm not sure if they were available. Location was close to the Ventura Convention Center! Just a mile away. We actually walked to the Model Train Show there Saturday morning. Super easy. Trains were mostly for commuters and quick and quiet. The first one each day was at 7:40 am. I think the last one was around 9. (We stayed 3 nights) They didn't disrupt our sleep at all. We saw/heard a cargo train on Thursday night about 8 pm that was having problems. It was loud as they were disconnecting two cars and leaving them on the center track. But my BF LOVES trains (thus the train show) so we were excited to watch every second of the trains! Can't wait to come back in the summer! read more

I found this place on Expedia when we needed a place to stay in Ventura. A vintage trailer hotel park next to the beach? Sounds cool! We booked the Flamingo, a fully restored 1955 Spartan Arms model that was featured on season 1 of the "Flippin' RVs" TV show. It was the perfect size for my husband and I with: -two twin beds -small flatscreen equipped with DirectTV. -working refrigerator, sink, microwave, electric kettle (stove is just for looks) -couch and desk with chair -outside deck area Amenities for guests include: bicycles with helmets Cornhole BBQ pits Fire pits with s' mores kits provided Free wi-fi Check-in upon our arrival with Joy was easy and she showed us around our trailer. Overall, our stay was fun! PROs: Totally unique hotel experience for us Located within walking distance of beach and downtown Friendly staff CONs: Waypoint is located next to train tracks with the first train rolling by at 6:08am on a Tuesday (I looked at my watch when it happened) plus there's construction right next to the trailer park. If you want to sleep in and/or are a light sleeper, these two things could help you decide if this is the place for you. Additionally, if you're taller than me at 5'9", you will find the beds and shower in the Flamingo trailer to be too small. However, there are other trailers to choose from and they probably have bigger beds. Not sure about the showers, though, but there are two regular-size bathrooms with showers next to the front desk for guests to use, too. read more

We stayed at Waypoint in November, on our way from OR to AZ. We only stayed a few days. Almost immediately we knew we wanted to stay longer. I say almost, because our maps app took us down the wrong road - and as newbies towing a 30' Airstream, that's one of our worst nightmares. We found the correct road, that was across railroad tracks, with an immediate 90 degree right turn, down a frontage road that had the railroad tracks on one side and a large brick wall on the other. The railroad arm ended up coming down on top of our Airstream and took the fridge vent with it. I write this to urge you to get a good map app, specifically for RVs and expect railroad tracks. After the fact, a long term trucker told us to stop, roll the windows down and listen before you cross. It could have been much, much worse. Even so, we'd most certainly face the PTSD we now have from railroad crossings and go again. The park is kitschy and fun. The staff is wonderful. It's such a unique stay. Everyone has to go, at least once! whether you BYO trailer or stay in one of their stationary vintage trailers. Every morning the office provided fresh squeezed OJ, coffee and lemon water. There is a large bonfire at night and you can swing by the office for s'mores. The other guests were so friendly and the entire place gave off good vibes. There's a great fish taco place within walking distance and the beach is literally right there! We'll be back! read more

So I saw this place listed on booking.com and I got excited. The pictures showed the cutest glamping style trailer park. The location seemed perfect walking distance to restaurants, a short walk to beach, bikes for riding to the beach, smores at night around the fire, hit chocolate as well. What could be better we booked it and headed down. Its a little hard to find because you cross railroad tracks and go left into what looks like your driving into some kind of warehouse business... there are cars parked and people working you drive all the way down and there is this hidden gem. Upon arrival the lady who attended us she may be the owner said it's $20 for each extra person there were 3 adults, the trailer sleeps 4. The reservation was for 2 adults. So $20 was added. It's very cute and everything offered was legit. However there was defiantly some uncomfortable moments. Pros: The location was perfect as far as access to local business and beach The grounds were perfect for a photo shoot The grounds and trailer was spotless clean. Cons: The lady made us feel very uncomfortable like our mother driving around watching everything we were doing like sitting outside on our "balcony" enjoying the sunset and cool weather considering I live in Bakersfield where it's been triple digits. The gate locks at sundown and when we got back from store she walked out to the gate to see who we were I did not notice any trash cans through out the trailer only saw one small on inside trailer so we're D.O. we put all our trash? There isn't any privacy between back bedroom /shower/toilet and rest of the trailer the shower had plexy glass everyone had to leave the trailer for each person to shower. We felt like we couldn't make any noise I think the biggest disappointment was apartments being built completely blocked the ocean views and the walk to the beach was a little more like a long walk! My girlfriend recently surprised with a ladies trip to Ventura. We stayed at Waypoint in The Pink Panther trailer, which was so just darling inside. The vibe of Waypoint is hard to beat. The staff were all amazing and very helpful. Geneva was wonderful, and made sure we were well taken care of. The grounds were spotless and the cool weather in Ventura was a nice change from the city. Waypoint staff provides excellent customer service. Geneva and Amy were very gracious to us when we were evacuated from our home due to the fires.. Even though they were full, they found a way to make room for us and our (big) dogs. Geneva even made us Chamomile tea to calm our nerves and gave our hungry dogs a lot of treats. Our beds were so comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed having cookies and visiting with everyone in the morning. Next time, we will book a stay for two nights. My wife's birthday Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer #4 "The Navigator" for our 20th Anniversary what a fun time, we were close to everything!!! The location is fairly new, very clean and safe with security fencing and gate. Great amenities too, like fire pits with complimentary S'more kits (lol, literally graham crackers, Hershey's chocolate bar and marshmellows) and free rental bikes. We walked to the pier, restaurants and the beach via footbridge over hwy 101. All the Downtown Ventura restaurants, cafes, bars and brewries were also walking distance away. Waypoint is the way to go! I found this gem through friends that recently stayed here and posted through social media. Once I saw the videos and pictures, I knew I had to take my family! It is glamping on another level with modern decorated airstreamers. Each airstreamer is unique and remodeled special in it's own way. We stayed in the "Mojave" and it was the perfect size for my husband and I along with our mini army (2 kids and baby). The beds were comfortable and everything was kept clean. There is a mini fridge, microwave and essentials to make some hot tea or coffee. There is no daily room service. It is upon request only. But you can simply ask the front desk for more toilet paper etc and they are so friendly and more than happy to fulfill any request. Here is a breakdown and summary of the overall experience! Pros: - Amazing Experience with the Airstreamers -Smores every night at 8pm(can be earlier upon request) -Amazing Staff -Awesome Bathroom products (Zenology) -Complimentary eye masks and ear plugs - Location overlooking beach and walking distance to local restaurants -Beautiful clean site -Coffee,tea and fresh juice available every morning in the reception area -Dog Friendly CONS: -Construction noise nearby -Location near train tracks hence the ear plugs But overall the experience was so Amazing, the noise did not bother us. The staff was phenomenal and my husband met the guy who remodels and works on the airstreamers and he was super talented and friendly. My husband picked this fun overnight spot for us. We brought our own camper van - they have a few open spaces for them. They primarily host guests in their own collection of stationary vintage RVS and trailers though. This place is so unique and well located; walking distance to beach, downtown Ventura, the freeway, etc. it's in as industrial area behind upscale apartments and next to the Amtrak rail line. You will hear the train late into the evening but other than that, there's very little noise. It's very secure - fully fenced with locking gate and code for entry. There is community areas to hang: a couple fire pits, adult swings, cornhole. They also have free hikes with baskets if you'd prefer to roll around. Dog friendly. It was very quiet when we were there - a Monday night. If you have a group, they have a circle of trailers with a more private outdoor area to share. I think 5 trailers total so you could easily have 10 people stay. Morning coffee, tea and treats. Evening hot cocoa. Every detail taken care of including blankets for around the fire pits. There's an outdoor bbq area next to trailer 11 which is also right next to the community fire pit. I'd suggest that location if you're looking for the most space. We'll be back. read more

We stayed here for our anniversary and were so happy we did. When we got to our trailer they had left a sweet anniversary gift for us that really made me smile. The square footage of the trailer is big, bigger than some hotel rooms. The bathroom has been modified to use regular a toilet and shower. The trailer was clean and sleek. The grounds were beautiful as well. The location is great. It is just a short walk to the pier and to the downtown area. We loved sitting by the fire and playing the house guitar with some other guests there. It was such a great way for us to celebrate. I'm looking forward to coming back here again. read more
