I also filled out the necessary paperwork online beforehand to save time. I made our appointments back to back (9:50 am & 10am). This worked out wonderfully. We were both out of there in 40 mins! Love how helpful and efficient they are! The lady that checked us in was super friendly and helpful. She noticed our insurance had changed in January and worked hard to help us find out who our new provider was. She researched and let us know what our insurance covered with them since they were out of network with our new provider. We ended up just getting eye exams with a $10 copay. Our new provider didn't cover contacts or glasses with them, but they did mention Visionworks is in network with our provider and we should try them to get our full benefit coverage. We will definitely be doing that. I really appreciated them taking the time to help us figure out our best course of action with the best financial coverage. Highly recommend!

The first time years ago I gave her the benefit of the doubt because we all have our days. However, every time I go in for my exam and to pick new frames this woman is rude, condescending, and short with me and I've seen it with other customers as well. This time was my daughter's first experience and after her feeling the same way and picking up on the negativity, I felt it was time to rate this location. If I could rate it based off everyone else in there, I would give them a 5, but due to each experience ending with this lady and leaving with a bad taste in my mouth, I definitely think they can do a lot better. (I went to a different location to see if there was a difference, there definitely was and we will be going to that location moving forward)

This man is horrible. Read this review and run away…read more A couple of years ago (yes, I hold grudges), I stupidly stumbled into this man's office/home for some glasses and contacts. My then-boyfriend now-fiance went with me for his glasses as well. At first, everything seemed fine. So they operate out of a home and his wife was his frame stylist. No big deal. Then shit got real. Dr. Mossman discovered that I wanted new contacts and he asked me what type of contacts I wore before. When I told him that I didn't remember because it was so long ago and I recently moved, he told me, "Well, you SHOULD remember. Whenever you go to an eye doctor, they want to know what kind of contacts you wear!" So I had to make a long distance call to my brother and asked him to dig up my old room for my contact box somewhere and it took a couple of calls before he got the brand for me. Since this was my first time buying another box of contacts, I had no idea that you could buy new brands of contacts despite the fact that you wore another brand before. Then it was my boyfriend's turn to get his eyes checked. Dr. Mossman used his ancient methods to look at the prescription of my boyfriend's glasses. He dodged the what the hell kind of contacts do you wear bullet because he doesn't wear any. After the examination, we went through the horrible choices for frames. We settled because we were young and stupid and didn't know any better. Dr. Mossman told us that anti-reflective coats were a stupid waste of money and that they didn't work very well, so we shouldn't get it, so we didn't. We were going to leave for the day when we discovered that my boyfriend's glasses suddenly developed a scratch. Being the polite guy that my boyfriend is, he knocked on the door before getting in. The doctor told my boyfriend, "This is a business, not a house!" When my boyfriend inquired about the scratch, Dr. Mossman said that it was "normal for coated lenses to get scratches" when it gets looked at for the power. He was stuck with scratched glasses for a week or two before he got his new glasses. And when he did get it, he hated it because his previous pair had anti-reflective coating on it and the new pair didn't. There was a big difference. I support private businesses, but not when there's a big unfriendly oaf running it.

In fact, it might be closer to say that Daiso is what you get when an Ikea, and a high-quality Japanese budget retailer get together and make a baby. There may be a lot of fluff and effluvia here, but there are also a lot of useful, down-to-earth, inexpensive home goods here that put anything you can find in an American retailer, for a comparable price, to shame. It's nice to have a shop that sells useful, elegant, quality goods at reasonable prices, a niche in which the Japanese uniquely excel. First-time Daiso shoppers may experience a slight bit of culture shock at having to convert prices from yen to dollars, but once they're hooked on all the wonderful, useful and inexpensive goods for sale here, that unfamiliarity will be fleeting. In particular, categories such as organization, kitchenware, stationery and home goods are not only cheaper here, they are more durable, useful, clever, and long-lasting. I would take anything purchased at a Daiso over any Walmart product, hands-down, any day of the week. They are simply not comparable. If you are simply one of the few who are unlucky enough to find a defective product, oh no...you're out a buck fiddy. Try again with something else. The thing about Japan, and Japanese culture, is they are relentless in their pursuit of perfection, which also includes innovation at absurdly cheap prices. Daiso is a reflection of this, and anyone who has ever been to Japan (myself included, multiple times) can attest to this: it's in their very nature. Their "worst effort" is often on-par with some of our "best". So sit back, relax, and enjoy this very limited presentation of some of their more modest offerings. And when you are starting to become convinced of their superior way of thinking, manufacturing, organizing, and presentation...feel free to delve deeper, and enjoy what you find. When you do, I'll see you at Uwajimaya.
