i'm quite confused by the low ratings!! i've been at abc vision since i was an actual child (9yrs old) and am now in my 20s and dr. ward and her team having jumped through the most insane hurdles to support my eye health. dr. cha is also quite nice, much quieter but very nerdy in the sense that you feel in good hands. i'm biased, but start your family here early, form a good relationship, and you won't be disappointed! read more

Worse place to get glasses, the workers where rude the prices are outrageous best take your money elsewhere.

After years with this company, was informed I could "return" progressive lenses if not happy with then within 30 days. I did and ordered normal lenses. Asked about difference in price and possible refund. Told by no less than 2 employees that I would get refund. Even had receipt showing refund. Lenses arrived with wrong perscription, had to wait additional week. Tried to pay in advance, but told to wait until second set of frames came in. Received 2nd set, had wallet out on 2 occasions never asked to pay. Thought would get bill with refund. Got call from Mari Ward, owner asking for payment. Asked about refund, was informed employees cannot authorize this after almost a month of being told I was getting refund. Got busy, a week later received email from Mari Ward stating I needed to come pay or would be sent to collections. This place is a total cluster. Sitting in the lobby for a half hour over the scheduled time is unacceptable; especially when we can see the Dr sitting in his office eating lunch. I understand folks need to eat, but don't do it when an appointment is scheduled. Then, they lost our glasses and said that that style of glasses was discontinued so we had to come and get a new pair. Their selection of children's glasses is so small it was hard to select another. We were so frustrated we didn't even want to come back. Then, 6 weeks later the glasses magically showed up and an automated message was sent instead of placing a personalized phone call. So we go get the glasses. A few months later THEY SENT US TO COLLECTIONS for this fiasco. Of course we had proof of payment, so the issue was easily resolved on our side. After six months of wearing glasses I bought at ABC, I've quit them and gone back to my previous pair. The lenses used by ABC are the worst and cheapest I've ever had. I can never keep them clean and neither pair ever seemed right or clear. Dr. Ward is great but can't overcome the cheap materials used by this company who seems to want to cut costs everywhere. Dr Mari Ward is the best of the best. Her office in Sherwood no one can compare. They're all helpful, funny and the nicest people you ever want to work with. I've been so happy with them I drive the 30 minutes. I've been going to them for five, six years now. Don't plan on taking my business any wherever else. read more

The people were nice enough, but I was very surprised when the Doc was having me try lenses that were a whole +1 from what my prescription was before, like my vision had gotten better. I was skeptical and told her that, but I tried them on (contacts), and though I couldn't see great, I thought my eyes needed to adjust or something. So I came in the next week for my follow-up appt and told her that they weren't strong enough, or something was wrong because I couldn't really see far away. She bumped me up .25 on the contact prescription for one of my eyes and not the other, and I was telling her I was worried that it was still wrong, but she assured me that the tech they use is supposed to find your exact prescription...especially for the glasses lenses! So anyways. Now I'm just frustrated because I'm realizing how wrong the prescription is...I can't even tell who someone is from across the room sometimes, and the glasses are even worse than the contacts. It's frustrating that they're so expensive and I still didn't feel listened to, and I can't really afford to go back and have they re-check my eyes! read more

Best office ever!!! Dr. Ward is wonderful and very caring. It's nice to go to an office where your not just a patient number but feel like your part of the family. This place is a complete cluster. They have constant turn over in staff, very limited eye glasses to select from. There is always a delay on your glasses, that is if ding bat Dr Ward has the correct prescription. Dr Ward is way in over her head, extremely stressed not to mention that she enjoys yelling at customers in front of her staff. Give me a break - any place would better than going to this location. I absolutely love ABC Vision in Sherwood! Dr. Mari Ward is very thorough with her exams and makes the whole process fun! The staff is excellent, caring and do a great job checking on your benefits and getting back to you quickly. I had extra eye benefits through my insurance that I didn't even know. She has a great personality and is excellent with children. They're right across the elementary school. Helped me pick out quality frames and did progressive lenses correctly. First time seeing an optometrist in 6 years and my glasses broke. Went to ABC vision source to have a first time exam with Dr. Ward and get an updated prescription. I got there 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork and ended up waiting another 30-40 minutes because the doctor was two rooms behind at 11am. No big deal. I work in the medical field, I get it. So I looked around at the frames while I waited and noticed there was nothing there that seemed stylish/comfortable for my age and face shape (I'm in my 30s and very petite) and the selection was so SMALL! Sunglass Kiosks at the mall have more frames than this location but their technician assured me that I could take my prescription anywhere I wanted to pick out nicer frames even though he still ended up strong-arming me into purchasing a mediocre pair I wasn't thrilled about. But since he promised I could get them in a week and I really needed to see for work/driving/life I naively bought them anyway. It's been three weeks and I've been calling for updates every couple of days. Every time I call I end up speaking with a different person who sweetly promises me they will be here "tomorrow", "Tuesday" , "Thursday" "next week" and apologizes.For three weeks I've been having my husband drive me to/from work and having my co-workers do a lot of my reading for me which is becoming a big pain. I really wish I just purchased them somewhere else like I initially wanted. Besides the glasses fiasco, the exam was fast, the doctor was very patient and thorough as I went through my history and testing. She was very nice and if it wasn't for the rest of my experience I would probably go back just to see her again. Just buy your glasses somewhere else if you need them quickly. Their very small selection looked cheap, unattractive, and outdated, in my opinion. You might have better luck at Fred Meyer. Btw I STILL have yet to receive my glasses but they say they have received them, they just aren't at that location and I have to wait for someone to drop them off on another day. Why can't I just go to where they are and pick them up myself? I leave for two weeks tomorrow morning and won't have them in time. Very frustrating! Wearing my prescription sunglasses inside isn't fun anymore. I would not recommend this place. It's too bad because the doctor is great and deserves the recognition. read more
