After my positive experience, I recommended this place to my parents, and they were very happy with their glasses as well. There are a few things I really like about Italy Optical. First, if you purchase lenses or frames from them, the eye exam fee is waived, which is a great benefit. Second, the quality of their lenses and frames is excellent -- I've worn mine for a long time and they've held up very well. Third, both the eye exam process and the overall service are thorough and attentive. I also noticed that my vision has been much more stable this year, which is reassuring. Although my eyesight isn't perfect, I decided to try a slightly larger frame this time -- it definitely helps balance my smaller eyes and gives me a better overall look. Upon arrival I was greeted immediately by the receptionist, who was very friendly and promptly assisted me. When it came time to see the doctor, she took her time, treated me very kindly, and above all I felt comfortable during the whole process. This is sooo important and made me feel great. I opted to pay $40 for the Optomap Retinal Exam, a non-dilating procedure that captures a digital image of the retina & doesn't cause for your eyes to be dilated for hours afterward. After about a 10-minute wait, Dr. Hymowitz called me back, performed his exam while sharing insight along the way. His standard of care is good while his expertise in the staff he employs is evident as everyone works well together. Even with the current promotions, the slim selection of frames & steep prices kept me from purchasing new reading glasses at this time. When I brought it her attention, she denied responsibility, was dismissive and rude, and did not offer any solution or compensation for the damage. I also observed an employee placing a ruler directly against the lenses while measuring PD. I do not remember the name of the woman I spoke to regarding the scratch.
