Waited 25 minutes for someone to open a case for me...they weren't busy at all.... Multiple employees were walking around stocking but none could help me because apparently only a select few have a key??? Where are the select few and why does it take them 25 minutes to walk across the store?? I've recently started doing delivery orders for Walmart. After doing about 50, I am going to HIGHLY recommend you make sure your order DOES NOT come from this store. I just watched two loaders just toss a customers order in their trunk without any care if they were damaging anything. I am almost certain they crushed that customer's bread with a couple boxes of fruit cups. If things fall out of bags or the bag breaks they don't get a new bag, they just toss the unbagged items in the trunk. It's appalling how they could care less. On one occasion I was picking up an order for two customers. I was loading one in my back seat while the Walmart associate loaded the other in my trunk. I have large cooler bags to keep items cold in my car. The loader put eggs underneath everything else and then loaded eight 2-liter bottles of soda without being in any bags and just tossed them next to the cooler bag along with other items. They rolled everywhere while I was driving. Groceries are expensive and when things are damaged that's money down the drain. There are some better locations where the associates care. The Walmart Markets in Clemmons, Winston on Harvey St, and Winston on Country Club are 10X better. Stay away from this Walmart if you want your order delivered in one piece. Shopping for yourself in this store is your choice. I don't personally shop here if I can help it. The associates are not helpful and the store is generally a mess. read more

Overall this store may get low grades, but when you find an employee that goes above and beyond you should shout them out. Shout out to Fantasia who works in apparel, however took an enormous amount of her time and consideration to make sure all of my questions were answered over the phone when she couldn't find anyone in the department where I was seeking assistance. I have been this same Walmart 4 times in one day over a crock pot the first one the knob was broke would warm or cook cleaned took it back got a bigger and what I thought would be better, got it home pulled it out only to see the whole ceramic pot itself was busted into like 20 pieces. It just fell apart when I opened it and had to take it back. They tell me customer service is closed for the night. I'm going to have to wait till the morning. I don't have until in the morning. I need the Crock-Pot today. I just don't understand why they could not have exchanged it. Simple. If you have to have a special piece of paper, why can't you fill out that special piece of paper the next morning? I had my receipt and it was only 10:05 and their customer service is closed. We went and bought some curtain rods and I went through self check out and made a $171 purchase and left when we got home we realized the curtain rods were left behind in the self check out area. so my husband drove back with the receipt to go and get them, not even an hour later thinking of this wouldn't be an issue. Sure enough because we used self check out they would not give us any refund or allow us to just go and retrieve the items that we paid for. So we had to buy it all over again after already making an initial purchase of the same thing. Needless to say Walmart has lost a loyal customer today. read more

I bought a TV from Walmart back in October. When I got it home because it started messing up. I bought the warranty for the TV. I called the warranty place and they said my warranty was no good because they sold me a used tv! I bought the tv Oct 1 they said someone bought the same tv in Sep on the 17 and brought it back sep 20! Walmart is not supposed to sell TV's that's been brought back! I went through hell getting somebody to fix this problem! My understanding that store is under new management! I went back up there to replace the TV and they made me pay 98 extra dollars same size and everything! When I bought the TV, it was on special back in October! I don't see how they charge me any extra money when it was their fault they sold me a used tv! They didn't make nothing right just charged me more money! Since it was walmarts fault for selling me a used tv they should've probably did an even trade but they charged me more money. By this point they should of gave me the tv for free and my money back because this is so wrong! I feel some type away about this because it wasn't my fault. It was Walmarts fault! read more

This Walmart is very different than any other Walmart I've been too which is why I'm giving it 4 stars and why I drive out of my way to come to this location. The staff is super friendly and actually care. I'm always genuinely greeted by someone at the door when I arrive and when I leave. This location also has the products I need in stock and carries a few additional items that the other stores don't. I don't go to Walmart often but when I do it's for very specific products. One of the cashiers that checked me out took the time to make sure everything was properly put in the bag and separated my produce from other items so they wouldn't get damaged. I appreciate the extra attention to detail at this Walmart and would recommend anyone coming here vs. the other locations, especially if you've had a bad experience at another one. read more

If I could not even give a star I would! I am livid!!! I was just in there and because there aren't any registers, a very disabled veteran was having to check himself out. He was in a wheelchair and his hands were also crippled that he could not grasp. He dropped several things so I helped him! Not one sorry cashier or worker at the Kester Mill Walmart even bothered!!! I took my elderly mother to this Walmart today and she was going to get a few necessities. She was trying to get an item that's now locked up. It was $1.09 the item she was trying to get. She pushed the button that supposed to alert an employee to come and unlock the glass door so she can receive the item. She stood there for 20 minutes waiting and pushed it maybe 3 times total. No one ever came over. She found me and told me about it and I went over to see if I could help her. There was a young lady working there and I said I would like to get this item that's locked up. She never spoke to me about it and a couple minutes went by I thought she was going to come over and unlock for her. She finally said some one will come help you in a minute. I said "Thank You"! I waited about 10 minutes and started looking around on that isle at other things while I waited. Approximately 20 minutes have passed by now. No one ever came. I went on to get my shopping done and my mother tried once again to get this item. She approached another sales associate and told her she needed help. This associate told her she needed to go to customer service and ask for assistance. My mother said I shouldn't have to. During all these times trying to get someone we saw multiple sales associates walk by us. Most were on their phones ( maybe work phones, I don't know, but their heads down in their phones). None the less she didn't receive her $1.09 item she wanted. I throw that out there because close by was other items that were $25 and more that wasn't locked up. THEN as I am going down an isle I see a sales associate with a buggy and she kinda had the end blocked with her buggy that had trash in it. She was putting belts up and as she's tearing them out of the cellophane wrapper to put them up she is throwing the wrapper into the buggy. She turned and had her back to me when she saw me and my granddaughter coming down the isle. I gently grabbed the end of her buggy to move it out of the way so I could get by and I WAS GOING TO PUT IT BACK WHERE IT WAS , MAYBE MOVING IT 12 INCHES OR SO, SO I COULD SLIP BY HER. I didn't want to bother her as she was working. She turned around and grabbed the buggy jerked it from me and said IF you would just say excuse me I would move it for you. Now don't get me wrong this could have went south really quick because I was already not pleased with this store and their employees by this moment but I calmly said I was going to put it back and I hope you have a nice day. I've worked in retail many times in years past , I get it. It's not fun alot of days and you do run into some hateful customers. BUT this store In particular could really use some training on how to be more customer friendly. If it wasn't for us customers they would not have a job there. I got her name and I could turn her in, but I don't want to ruin her job but these employees really need to be trained on treating the customers as if we matter. read more

They are maintaining distances, the staff are wearing gloves and also ask you to step aside in distance at the self checkout in order to help with any technical queries on the machine. Excellent service with the current situation. They are well stocked, just no toilet paper mind you. However, other than that, didn't feel overwhelmed going in and sorting bits out. Customer service desk still has long queues as always, nothing changed there. Great with the front antibacterial wipes for the trolleys etc, they've always had them there, but see more people actually using them now. Also witnessed staff cleaning the trolleys down which was refreshing and calming to see in the current state of the world at the minute. Only thing to bare in mind is that the delivery service and the collection service, with the grocery online is no longer available. You can add items to the basket however, cannot checkout to collect them from your local store. Due to Covid19 and everything going on at the minute with that, must be short on staff etc to do this service. Bit of a shame, as makes shopping inside more tedious, and also harder to find items. read more

I moved into the neighborhood over a year ago and this is by far the best neighborhood Walmart I have ever had. The produce always improves, the shelves are fairly stocked, the clearance aisle usually keeps a good variety, online ordering is amazing and customer service is responsive, attentive, intuitive and empathetic... THAT being said: I am under the impression that either employees or supplemental management are forgetful of the kind of business they work within. It is understandable that during a global pandemic that the store cannot be a 24-hour store; they have to maintain stock for emergency supplies. It is also understandable that during a global pandemic that the store cannot maintain stock of certain products they offer... online ordering, shipping and Walmart Plus compensate for that. In absolute spite of that there are many businesses that didn't struggle during the pandemic. Even so, even if every single business was struggling to maintain hours and everything closed on a daily basis all-at-once at the same time, this Walmart closing at 11pm is completely reasonable but difficult to use for people who still work! NOT BECAUSE 11PM IS TOO LATE (it could be, but it's not for me) but because, without any warning signage or notification the store's front door closes BEFORE they close at 11pm now. That wasn't the case when their store hours officially changed so... I live and work in the neighborhood. I am fine with 11pm as an official closing hour as it reads on the signs. I can't always get in the door before 10:30-10:45 with NO IDEA that the store ACTUALLY closes at that time. I am a parent, I ALSO work in restaurant/retail AND I know that there are many other people (because I see them walking up to the door just like me) who think that if this store wants to close 15 minutes earlier then... maybe they should advertise that time on their signs and on google so people don't waste their driving time getting last minute/emergency supplies for the night. read more

Worst experience ever in the Walmart at Kester Mill Road. Sales associates not willing to answer questions, not will to assist, arrogant, and borderline racism. I treat people the way I want to be treated, WITH KINDNESS; however, it is disgusting to find employees with bitter hearts who seem to have formed an alliance to make it harder for some customers to receive their help. I spoke with several employees who didn't want to answer my questions or respond at all. I spoke to each one with kindness in my voice only to be ignored or acting like they didn't understand me. My shopping experience today was horrible and I actually left the store with only the items I purchased in electronics. The self checkout was only half operative and the sales associate in this area was smug and was working alone. The management at this store leaves much to be desired. Was the only store to carry the air mattress we wanted. It was at a great price and we needed it the day off as we were having company over. When we purchased and brought the air mattress home, we immediately removed it from the box and were greeted with an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. We then continued to unroll the air mattress and found we were missing pieces (instructions and bag) and the mattress was covered in large yellow stains and had several holes. We immediately returned the mattress to the Walmart but our house reeked of cigarette smoke for several hours. But this poses a question: do all Walmarts find it acceptable to reseal a dirty air mattress and sell it to another customer missing pieces and in unusable and disgusting condition???...or was that just the Kester Mill Rd Walmart? God forbid we were to receive bed bugs because of this horrible transaction. Will not be back. read more

So I went to the self check out with the Belt bc I had alot of items. There were only TWO of those working. So I stand there behind a couple who could not get their WIC card to work. 13 minutes later I move around them to another machine. I normally do NOT shop here and I never will again. It is beyond ridiculous that they have no more cashiers on a weekend. Not to mention needing more self checkouts with the Belt. Wal-Mart is not even the cheapest grocery store anymore. The pharmacy tried to rip me off charging $39 for a Script that Publix charged me $16 for! read more

Standard Walmart nothing special versus others. I had thought that since it is in Winston that it would have more selection. However, they seem to be following the trend of carrying very little in the way of selection of any one product. And because of their "just in time delivery" policy they are often out of the sizes our family uses. While this may mean they do not have products sitting, it also means they do not have he products to sell. Which means we go elsewhere. Now that would be fine, but they also lose out on the sales we do while shopping elsewhere since we are already there. Restrooms were clean and stocked at this location. Staffing seem d better than the Elkin NC location. read more

The cashiers in the front of the store are typically kind and helpful. However the older Caucasian lady at the register at the garden center was unnecessarily rude. I asked for change back by pressing that on the register and she slammed her hand on the register and said "I don't have change in the mornings". This was 12:34 in the afternoon. Amazingly enough this place just keeps getting worse and worse. I only go in there on rare occasions when I can't possibly avoid it, but it's shocking how bad it is. Now they've revamped the store with self-checkout lines, so there's never enough cashiers working, and the self-checkout is never working properly and always makes an error. They don't have enough people to staff the cash registers, but you bet there's someone waiting at the door to treat you like a criminal and examine your receipt. The store is a mess. Shelves are jumbled and there's trash and stains everywhere. Rotten meat in the cooler, spoiled vegetables and fruit, on and on. And when you do actually get to interact with an employee, they're always rude, and now most of them barely speak English. What the heck is going on here? read more

If you don't mind traveling in crazy mall traffic to get here, it's okay. They're open 24 hours & staff was surprisingly helpful. However, selection could be improved in the kids' toys section and in DVDs. This Walmart is SO MUCH BETTER than the Peter's Creek location!!! I honestly didn't know this one was here until a coworker told me there was a Walmart "right around the corner" from our office. Wow! Awesome! I have NEVER had to wait in line at the registers... Or at the Customer Service desk! (Gasp!) One time I needed a money order and their machine was down, which was slightly annoying but I know sh*t happens. Everything seems to be pretty well stocked. I've never gone in for something and had the shelf be empty. Service has always been good. Last visit, I purchased 2 automotive sunshades- same kind but different designs. One rang up $5, the other $10. I was ready to put the $10 one back and grabbing another $5 one but the employee graciously knocked the $10 one down to $5 as well! Very appreciative!! I think a GREAT aspect of this Walmart is their in-store Subway restaurant. I have had subs a few times here so far they have been the BEST sandwiches I have EVER had. Their bread has been so soft, fresh and perfectly baked. Their veggies have been so crisp and fresh. Mmmmmm. Seriously makes me want to drive to this Walmart right now merely to get a sub!!! I ordered a few items for curbside pick up. When I arrived there were over 20 cars waiting, and ONE person working. I waited in line for a long time and then finally asked if I could just pick up my items inside. She said yes and to go in and stand by the large orange sign "pick up". There was no one to help me once inside. I finally went to the shelves myself, got what I needed, cancelled the online order and left. I will NEVER order curbside at this Walmart again. Walmart please put the right price tag on your items. Today 6/13/19 - The price tag on English Cucumber was 1.00 but rung up to 2.14. Also, the price tag for 10 white hangers were 1.00 but rung up 1.17. I know it's not much but please don't false advertise. I told the cashier that the price tag says 1.00 for the cucumber, she said it must have been in the wrong place. I don't think it was in the wrong place because I got it from a big pile of English cucumbers. I'm not upset just disappointed. The car battery that I've purchased as a replacement to another Walmart battery, has officially quit on me, literarily on the last day of its warranty. Unable to get here without a battery, I had to wait through the weekend until Monday. So now we are 3 days past warranty and you may guess the result. The manager said "we have a policy and that becomes the law" Pro tip; if you're going to buy a Walmart branded car battery, get the one with a 5 year warranty. read more
