WF also has my all time favorite pasta salad - smoked mozzarella penne. I would bathe in that stuff! Broccoli bacon crunch is great as well. I have gotten Too Good To Go bakery and prepared foods bags from this location. The bakery bag was amazing - two half loaes of rye and sourdough, vegan croissants, blueberry muffins, and a bag of 12 mini rolls. The prepared food is tougher to come by but the couple times we've snagged it, it's been pretty good - I even once got my favorite pasta salad, plus ham and cheese from the deli, the thai noodle salad. Only downside is they sure do like to offload the coleslaw which isn't my favorite. Service is always fast and friendly, short lines when you don't feel like self-checkout. @azfitfoodfun

If you are in the outside parking area, you look up and you see the Publix is on what appears to be the second floor so it's a little confusing as to how to get to the store itself. There are stairs if you want to go that route or you can take an elevator which is also located on that side parking area that takes you directly into the grocery store. They also have an inner parking area underneath Publix with more parking area and there is an elevator there as well. The idea is that you can shop and then take a large elevator that can accommodate your grocery cart for your trip on the way down to your car. Other than that, it's set up like any other Publix grocery store. I came in primarily to get pet food, but it's hard to resist the other items in the store. I got hung up looking at the delicious food in the bakery and deli area. I ended up getting bread, fresh made asiago bagels and a homemade cheese bread. Oh yea, I almost forgot the pet food! There is a small section but some good choices for kitty or canine. I noted The store is clean and the staff are friendly. After checkout, I made my way to this huge elevator that holds two or three carts so no problem getting my grocery cart in there for my trip downstairs to get to my car. A little confusing but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go.

Bring your own bags or purchase some of their reusable bags located near the registers. The one thing that causes me stress is checking out. There is usually only one cashier open. They have at least 5 or more lanes and typically the one is open near the self checkout. They have most of the self checkouts open now, but it can be hectic, because if something goes wrong the one cashier has to stop to help. Today, there was a new person training on the one register and her trainer was helping the self checkout. I was patient with the cashier, because she was nice. The self checkout can be stressful because people with large qualities of groceries use the checkout, so you have to wait. You can only imagine the chaos when you are dealing with people who are not use to the technology or are unable to scan their items properly. Even with these first world frustrations, I like this store. It is usually clean and has a unique variety of products. Consider the time you come, BYOB (bring your own bags) and have a little patience.

The European grocery based chain keeps things simple, mostly only offering the "store brand" for nearly all items, with exceptions to some things, it makes it much easier for to get in and out, with less frustration and ore money in your pocket. As I mentioned walking down the aisles you won't be inundated with 10 brands of the same pasta, soup, ice cream, etc, it allows them to keep a smaller store, meaning lower rent, and more savings, yes you may still need to stop at other stores to pick up a few specialty items, but I can generally get 95% of the items on my list in one stop. The checkers are super-quick and efficient, even when the customers are kind of slow and dumb and don't really understand the concept of putting your groceries on a belt and then paying for them. They're known for this, and pretty sure they're graded on speed. But even with their speed, it's still annoying to have only one line open nearly every time, no matter how many people are waiting. Why can't this location have self-checkout like so many others? If they can make it work in a horrible place like Chicago, then it can work in Greensboro. But the worst is the checker who has her light off and the "closed" sign on the belt despite a deep line at the next lane, then checks out the idiot who ignores all of this and unloads her cart anway, while the rest of us were waiting in the one line that was open.

I wasn't planning to make a review but when i read others, i decided someone needed to give an…read moreindependent unapologetic and frank depiction of this place. I've lived in Greensboro long before these started to operate so i've seen Li-Ming and Super G mart go through all their evolution stages until now. What they have in common is that the owners bought an old, badly aged and frankly decrepit industrial space (The super G mart used to be a chemical factory !) and did zero renovation of the interior. Not even replaced the old torn up plastic floors and for a long time you could smell the chemical fumes from the old plant except at the fish market section that stunk so bad that it covered all smells. This is the nature of Asian business they don't care about how and where, they just want to sell a maximum for profit. Same mentality as these fly by night Chinese buffet restaurant that import all their food from China and do not buy a single food locally. Super G mart had a rough start but it was always run by a remarkable older Korean lady who made all the selections for the store (a huge job) and they always had cheap mexican labor and cashiers from 3rd world Asian country. You don't want to ask who is legal or not. The fresh produce section of super G mart has improved considerably in the last 8 years. It's exceptionally well organized and replenished. Thanks to the high customer volume the turn around of fresh produce is high which mean fresh. And the mexican hand labor are good at doing their work. Note how you will not see a Nig Eager doing any kind of worthwile work in any place in the country or the world for that matter. And you cannot call it a prejudice because it is a fact. So Super G is excellent for fresh produce and it really is international as it carries South American as well as African and Asian fresh produces. The rest of the store is very well stocked thanks to the Korean lady i mentioned higher who i believed is retired now. I would say it's an excellent Asian market but the prices are not cheap. You have to watchout some things are very expensive. Now about the Chinese Li Ming. It started as a communist looking communal supermarket, like what you would expect in 1990 North Korea, or 1990 China. The product were far less varied than super G and since most of it is from China and the quality was lower. It is a big warehouse. The fish seafood market was nightmarish for years and still is. You would often see the tanks filled with dead fishes, filth, dark beige color water never cleaned, algaes on the glass. The fishes looked pitiful and pleading to die. The stench was hard to ignore. The meat market was no better. Run by a couple of underpaid mexicans you could see the absolute worse possible origin meat. It looked like being in Africa in 1970. For many years i didn't dare buy anything in the meat department. Even the vegetables looked like they came from polluted chinese cities. Only bagged produce could be trusted. Other than that, it really is a Chinese market, they have little to no other Asian countries products. Prices aren't low either. The owner is always working in the store an old bold chinese with a defiant nationalist chinese attitude ready for any confrontation. Very offensive and loud but within Chinese ways. You can almost smell the greed from watching him. In conclusion Li Ming is deifnitively inferior to super Gmart but they will have some teas i couldn't find in super G and Super G has much better selection of international fresh produce. In both of them i would be very cautious if buying fish or meat, as these places are far from hygienic and if it smells and looks often suspicious then you can be certain the back rooms are full or rodents and vermines too that will get at the food. So you know what to expect and shop cautiously. Li Ming has far less customer volume and is a big warehouse giving you a weird comfortable feeling of being in a time machine and visiting a communist store in the 1980. Even today in 2026. For sure the owner is old enough to have known that era in China. Every year the store hosts a chinese furniture and trinkets market next to the hot food and bakery. They bring in exclusive chinese interior objects what you would find in a highly touristic chinese crafmanship store in San Francisco in the 1980's. Prices are super high and meaningless. As you know or should know, Chinese are cunning merchants and the price is as high as you are willing to pay. Everything needs to be bargained extra hard. The way only a Chinese could do it. If you are a westerner you are guaranteed to overpay by a factor of not 4x , 3x. If you do 2x you didn't do too badly, Chinese know how to judge you to psychologically massage you to pay and think you paid a fair price. Overall i think the prices are high in both stores. But i enjoy shopping there for specialty products once every three months on average.
