Always a great time with their food and beer den! The grocery store itself is small and not what you'd get from Lowe's or HT. So only downside really, along with nothing nearby. But it's a cozy little spot. They also desperately need to expand their seating area for the beer den. Good selections, you can always grab anything from their fridge and they sell it to you for such a great price! We have been going to Bi-Rite for our bulk meat. We purchased a Prime Rib for over $100. It was tasteless and mostly gristle. We brought back most of it but threw away the fat. The butcher "manager" came out to talk to us red faced and was quite irate. "Looks good to me" he says. Threw the bag of meat on the scale and said "you ate some!" Long story short...we left annoyed,.embarrassed of the scene he made, with no, "can we do anything to make up for it?" We weren't looking for full refund, just basically to make him aware. This "manager" was as rude and belligerent as could be. We were calm and so taken back by his attitude. This guy needs to stay away from customers period! This is why people shop at the big stores, customer service IS a big deal. read more

The young cashiers at this store needs to be properly trained on customer service. The cashier threw my groceries down to the bagger and said here you go and give me my receipt. There was one register open with a bagger and two other employees standing around talking. Then looked at me as if I was interrupting them. Smh. These guys are great to work with on large orders. I gave them about a weeks "heads up" on an order of 65 1/3 lb. 80/20 hamburger patties, a case of Nathan's franks, 15 lbs. of chicken tenders, 2 gallons of cole slaw, and 2 gallons of chili. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Not all the employees are wearing masks. The butcher was not wearing a mask, the young lady in the back packaging their house made products was not wearing a mask nor were many of the customers. During one visit, there were two piles of boxes outside full of meat sitting outside in the sun. The boxes had keep refrigerated on them. Today I noticed a huge pile of partially frozen meat sitting in the isle for sale. I purchased a package of beef ribs and they were rancid. read more

So, we go to the store for a few things. I carry my little Chihuahua with us, not wanting to leave her in the 90+ degree car outside. So, upon coming up to the register to check out our few groceries, this extremely rude woman comes up to us and says we cant be in the store with our puppy. She proceeds to grab my cart, I asked her is there a sign? She said yes...well apparently I didn't see the sign but the way she handled the situation was very rude. Not even asking if we saw the sign out side. I asked her if she was "throwing us out" she said "yes". She proceeded to take my cart and we left. Needless to say the employees at Bi-Rite should be trained a little better in how they handle customers. She could have been a little kinder, but apparently she acted in a very ignorant, rude manner. Best and lowest priced fresh meat selection in the area! Not only do they still carry your groceries to your car most of the baggers know what car you're in....if you are a local of course! You won't get this kind of personal service at a big box store. I've found deals that beat the big stores too. The owner knows most of the community by name and always greets you with a smile and a joke! I feel so fortunate to have a place like the Bi-Rite 5 miles from home.
