Today was a very busy Saturday but the shelves were plenty stocked. Getting in to find items on my grocery list netted a successful trip. The store was organized and clean. The checkout had bottlenecks as the cashier was not directing available lanes. The line itself self navigate. It definitely could have been managed better. read more

They said that they needed someone to go fix that that it was incorrect. It was very disappointing because the whole aisle was incorrect. Be very careful ordering online with your funds in the bank account! I ordered 170 dollars and they took the money out twice. When I called I was told that it is policy to double charge it and only when everything has shipped do they remove the hold on the account. Then it would take 7 to ten business days to return the money to the account. Either go in store or be sure you have enough money to support waiting 2 to 3 weeks to get your money returned to you. When I contacted the bank to try to fix this she said that Walmart is a big offender of this practice. I'll go back because I need the cheaper prices for this and I don't have time now to use Amazon once funds finally get back in my account but it's not likely I'll ever enter a Walmart again. OK, so stuff happens and I was shipped the wrong item not a problem I call customer support say hey this was the incorrect item. They say no problem we can refund it unfortunately we can't send you a replacement for what you actually ordered. Not a problem I ask hey my store closes at like I think 11 and so I can take it back to that store right they said not a problem. I'm like awesome so I show up at the store at the store is open but customer service is closed at nine not at 11 when the store itself closes so I haul this heavy ass set of chairs into the building just to be able to be told by the ferry inconsiderate it wasn't. Put an online delivery order on December 1 2025 it got delayed due to not finding a driver. Here it is December 3 and it's still delayed and the store isn't answering the phone to find out what's going on. Called and made a complaint with walmart.com about this store. They tried to tell me that somehow my account thru Walmart had been hacked and that my $30.74 order of groceries went to someone in Texas. I told them $30.74 went off my card to WALMART. I rarely shop at Walmart anymore. However I had a gift card nearly 2 years old and decided to use it up. I visited on Sunday at about 11am and went to the garden center doors and was met by a walmart employee standing 6 feet from a cash register only to tell me that no one is on the register at all. So I go back to my car and move it closer to the front door and go inside to buy a couple packs of sandpaper and cord replacement ends. As I walk back to the isle with the items I needed I observed other isles and noted they were all in disarray and looked as if they hadn't been stocked or tidyed up in weeks. I knew the sandpaper was reasonably priced, however the replacement 3 prong plug end was $7.58 and seemed pretty pricy. So I pulled out my phone and found it on amazon for only $3.99 with prime delivery to my home. As I strolled to the check outs I heard and save groups of 3 walmart employees grumbling together in one isle. I passed another employee on the phone complaing how angry she was. I noticed in the camping isle many items were under lock and key priced at only $30 I knew I wasn't going to be hunting down a disgruntled employee to let me see the item behind the glass. I get to the checkouts and noted none of the "self checkout lanes" were open. They did have approx 6 checkouts open with an average of 6 people in each line. I got in line and the person in front of me had $200+ in groceries I waited to be rung up. When I got to my turn the young girl behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me, until I asked how her day was going. Needless to say I used up the gift card and told myself this was absolutley my last visit to any Walmart store. I find better prices on Amazon with easy fast home deliveries and easy returns. The Walmart on 350hwy in Raytown MO reminded me of the old Dirty Dons Discount. When I left the Walmart store I felt dirty and cheap perusing the unkempt isles with no help and no so cheap prices. Please do not shop at this store or any Walmart, there are better places to spend your hard earned dollars and save time and frustration. Its painfully obvious Walmart isn't going to change and they have no respect for the customers or their stores. And any bargain you get is not worth the time and hassle. I chose not to participate in that foolishness, so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying "Ma'am, Ma'am" as I kept walking. Very helpful staff. Many have been there for years, and take the time to greet you like a friend and treat you like family. The store is usually well stocked in every department. I would have given this store 5 stars, except for the fact that slowly the checkers have been replaced by machines (which is refuse to use) and there are usually only 2 registers open in the evenings, and the wait can be tedious. *Walmart, if you're reading this... Your strength has always been your staff. Less machines and more real humans at the checkout would be great. read more

I waited over 10min outside for my pickup order. I called multiple times. I called the store main number multiple times. No one answered. No one brought my groceries out. I checked in at 7a. My pickup time was 7a-8a. The fact that no one came out after I sat there and called the store multiple time. What's the point of having pickup scheduled from 7-8a when no one will bring your order out. I received a message at 6:50a that my order was ready. The app won't let you check in until 7am. I was at the store at 7:09a. EVERYTIME i come to this store I have problems. Either they take over 30mins to bring the order out or I end up with someone else's groceries. I was the ONLY car at pickup. And why doesn't the store answer their phone? I called pickup 4x and the actual store customer service multiple times. This place is a JOKE! read more

This is but far and without a doubt the worst Wal-Mart I've ever visited. This is the Wal-Mart closest to my house so I come here because it's a convenient location, but every time I come here I ask my self, "why did I return?" My main grievance is with the lines. With at least 20 checkout lanes they never seem to have more than 5 open. Any time I've come here to go grocery shopping I've spent way too much time in line. I get that waiting is part of the process, but there's rarely a time where I don't find myself behind 4 people in line , and the cashiers seem to be slower than normal, or maybe it's my perception. The issue with backed up lines includes the pharmacy and the customer service desk. I've never had an issue with finding what I need. Bottomline, don't come here if you're in a hurry as even the 20-items-or-less lanes are usually backed up. And if you find yourself here know that it'll take a while. read more

I don't understand what the problem with Wal-Mart inside the city is? It's not as if it's a secret why customers hate this Wal-Mart in particular. BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CASHIERS WHEN IT GETS BUSY!!!!! How hard is it to put people on register? The answer is not very hard at all, yet they refuse to do it. The managers all give you some stupid jive about how they can't do it because they aren't allowed to. Well whoever came up with that rule should be fired and not given a reference. It really does drive me crazy and I don't blame the poor lady who is trying to work through 15 people with entire grocery carts full of stuff I blame the management of the store. When you get busy, get people on register seriously. Don't act like people in the area don't wanna work. These bums have the nerve to put 45 - 50 people in the back stocking stuff at night so how about you pay maybe 10 of those people a little more money to learn register and call them up to the front when you need help. You wouldn't let this happen in Johnson County KS so if Jackson County service doesn't deserve any consideration just say so in your commercials. 26 stinking lanes and usually 5 of them open. I have video to back up my claims. Both are taken at about 7-10pm so right in the middle of the busy hours. Both places are also 24 hours. read more

I probably shouldn't base my review on a Thanksgiving shopping experience, but my experience takes that into account. WalMart puts out an ad with different specials starting at different times. The perceived reason for this is to prevent a mass run all at once. The item I was interested in went on sale at 8PM. I show up a little before 7:30. Ask where the sale is, I am directed to a line, and stand there for almost a half hour. Another person asked an assistant manager about the line and me, along with many others learn that this is not the line we need and that all wrist bands have been giving out in the appropriate line. I talk to the assistant manager who was terribly rude and did not care once ounce that her employees were misdirecting people. I didn't so much expect her to make the offer appear, but a little empathy and reaction to the employees misdirecting multiple people would have been appropriate. On my way out I spoke to another appearing to be manager type. He told me that they only had 25 of the product we were all looking for and they gave out all of the wristbands at 6pm when the store opened. Wait? What is the point of the staggered sale times then? The ad did not say there was a limit to the product. Actually it said the sale would continue the next days as supplies lasted making it sound like they had a good quantity. I probably would have looked at comparable items and purchased one that wasn't the great price, but no one acted willing to help with anything but managing the people waiting for deals. Isn't the point of these extremely limited low price items to get others who don't get it to buy a higher priced item? Eh, there is always cyber Monday. read more

This Wal-Mart has always had a trashy feel to me. I only come here when I know I need to get in and get out. Check out lanes are terrible and take forever. My biggest issue here is with the stocking. When I came by looking for a certain toy a few months ago, everything was just thrown on the shelves in random locations. This was new stock! Not restocked items! This last weekend, I went to buy some pants and I saw about 10 carts of restock in the clothing area and about 15 in the service desk area. When I worked at Wal-Mart in Lawrence, this was unacceptable. This was also at approximately 10 am on a Saturday. This should have all been put away the night before, but clearly the management doesn't care. Go here if you're desperate, but unless it's close by, it's not really worth it. There are better, nicer, cleaner, better organized Wal-Marts in the area. read more

Today I tried Walmart Grocery Pickup for the first time and here is what I thought. First: Using the app is super easy. I literally sat up in my bed while breastfeeding my newborn and grocery shopped. It was quick and easy. Second: I had a $10 off coupon which is what motivated me to even try it in the first place. Who doesn't love coupons? Any chance I get to save money, Im all in. Third: I was able to get the time reserved that I wanted with no problems. I was however a bit concerned the day of that my order would be late because I didn't receive the "Your Order is Ready" email until like 15 minutes before the time slot. I pride myself at being on time all of the time. Its a gift and a curse. Fourth: I pulled up to the parking spot and after I checked in, the attendant came out 60 seconds later. Amazing! I had my teenage son with me so I made him help her load. Not having to cart my toddler and newborn around a crowded store on a Saturday morning and wait in long lines was great, so having my son help was the least I could do. Winning! Bonus: After she loaded the car, the attendant gave me another coupon for $10 off! So I will be back. This is revolutionary for me. My life has been made just a little bit easier thanks to Walmart Grocery Pickup. Side note: A few things I ordered had to be substituted which was totally fine because the items they replaced them with were brands I was already familiar with. Not a big deal. One thing I wanted was out of stock so I was not charged for it. Tip: It should be mentioned that there is a $30 minimum to use Pickup. 4/5 read more

I've had good and bad experiences at this Wal mart, mostly bad. Customer service is a mixed bag. I did lose my wallet here once and recovered it (with all the cash and credit cards) thanks to the help of an emppoyee. Another time I told a staffer that the men's room was out of towels and she just looked at me and laughed. Weird. The store always seems wiped out. No matter what time I visit, the shelves look empty and product isn't fronted properly. My main complaint is the checkout lines. Plan on a 15 minute wait. It's convenient to my location and I'll continue to stop by now and then but I have been visiting the Lee's Summit location more lately. read more

I understand the rules at self check out. It was an over site on my behalf. The man that was watching over self checkout let me go through. I had an item that had an age requirement so a cashier had to approve it. She was so rude! As soon as she came to me she says " you can only have 20 items in self check out!" Several times. They were large items. I only had 22 items. I could see her saying something if I had 25, 30, 40 items or more. Clearly the man saw my cart and still let me in self check out. Super convenient location to my home. Super inconvenient checkout. Literally, seriously literally, the only open lanes (2x), were one on each end self-checkout. Exasperated, I nearly just walked away. It is very difficult for me to shop as I am in a great deal of pain. To come in when it is slower, therefore no long lines to be expected is my goal. However, if the lines aren't backed up to clothing, there may be 1 checker and have to go to self checkout. I get to bend and lift everything 4 times. Once to check myself out and again back to the cart, once to put in the car, once again when I get home. This store seems to be the destination for unruly people, showing off to friends as to whom can be the most loud, speaker phone yellers (like what is the point), hollering across the store, preteens running around the store, all to impress their family and friends, and everyone in the store. It's the 'I dare you to say anything' movement. No dignity, no grace, no self respect or respect for others. My mother with dementia asked a woman if she didn't mind blocking the aisle and within a couple of minutes we were surrounded by adults and children acting giddy, jumping around, and promoting the argument that ensued. This woman blocked the aisle purposely crosswise knowing others were trying to pass by. It was a set up. After this unruly character poked my 81 year old mother in the chest, I let her know "this setup you've created for your entertainment is sorely sad, especially when you are targeting an elderly woman with dementia." " I highly recommend that you never touch my mother again. " I told her "in the meantime, if this is your only way to obtain entertainment" that I felt sorry for her and would pray for her. I said "let's all pray if you will. " Her friend said "Amen" and told the troubled character, "this acting out is ridiculous and we need to move on." The bathrooms are dirty and not stocked. If you let a checker know, they give you the, "so what" and turn the cheek look, or mumble and laugh if with other coworkers. I understand produce must be purchased much quicker than other items in the grocery area, but I do not care what the date says, if the lettuce is slimy or rusty, it has to go. Lately, I have noticed certain items being out of stock for weeks at a time. Simple things like Lipton instant tea. GREAT!! The ladies and gentlemen that work in the aisles stocking, during the afternoon and evening hours are THE BEST!! ALL OF THEM! There is one very shy young man but even he is becoming fun and will help find anything I need. He just needed confidence and no fear of embarrassment of being a teen working at Walmart. I get that. I was a teenager once too, and is he opening up very well. He has learned where the little things are located and he crawled on the floor to reach an item on the back of the shelf for me. They are all friendly and helpful. The checkout employees lately behave with no common decency for a sense of professional urgency, ever. They reign the checkout as their little Kingdom and we are their annoyances. I know from experience that customer service on the line can become burdensome and difficult. However, I truly do not want my bananas sacked with canned goods and also why I separate out the soft groceries from the other. I do not want my pizza turned on its side. That's why they are sold lying flat. Do not try to talk to customer service on the phone, they never answer, and you will get hung up on even if you are patient and stay on hold with the crackling background music for 35 minutes. I understand an even tempo is great for stress reduction, and less mistakes. I also understand, if there is 1 checker open, they might develop an attitude. I've had some really great and helpful checkers, lately though, it appears they are reverting back to the mindset of "I will get to you when I am ready", because "you could go to self-checkout if you are in a hurry or don't want to wait." I could go to self checkout, but I do not get paid to perform checker duties. I am not employed there. I've changed locations and now drive to the new Lee's Summit hwy 291/150 superstore. It is new, clean, people still love their jobs, the shoppers and employees are friendly, curteous, and every time I go there I meet someone from Raytown. As it grows and with time, I know the new appeal will wear off, but I feel so much safer there than my Walmart. I expect if people act out inside the store they will be worse outside in order to get attention for childish behavior. It can be frightening as the behavior is unpredictable. I also think the owners of this location just need to spend a bit of money and update. It will make a huge difference. However, I understand costs of keeping employees is the greatest need and would prefer CSR over a bathroom. The improvement of customer service in the aisles has greatly increased for a wonderful experience, and for that I am thankful. read more

I seldom go to WalMart... Not just this one... ANY WalMart. As I'm sure most people know why this place is mostly unappealing so I'll skip listing what they lack and say thatI am thankful that they keep those big containers of sani-wipes by the doors. This helps me wipe those rickety old baskets they refuse to replace. They've now seen fit to open self check outs that while not set up for the easiest exit, moves much faster than the 1.5 human cashiers. ALSO, very happy to have not encountered the coughing lady. She had a cough for well over a year. Very unappealing when she's ringing groceries and touching them with her freshly coughed upon hands sans use of sanitizer betwixt hacks. Very unappealing to stand there and watch helplessly as someone is spreading a fine layer of cough spit and mouth epithelials over every.single.item I'm paying for. AND she's the only cashier. ( I used to go in the middle of the night.) But she's gone-- I think-- so... WIN! Also, glad to see they are starting to include more gluten-free and organic food items (on the shelves). Glad they decided to do away with the dim lights in the produce area (and maybe other parts of the store). They've done some restructuring which I suppose is and effort. Makes me a bit nervous to have the shelves go up so high...but I suppose they're trying? And for the most part I do typically encounter pleasant, friendly workers. read more

Isn't that the busiest time of the day for them??? Anyway, I've given up on going to Walmart during this time and just go to HyVee instead. They rarely have new cosmetic or hair products plus they there's always a ton of Walmart associates around but never any checkout lanes open! Frankly, the cashiers should be ashamed at how slow they are, and the managers on duty do little to alleviate the always excessive backlog of people waiting in line.
